best mod ever
Alright, I added bonk: Bat Edition Lite, should work as requested.
i've always waited for something like this, it made me smile everytime i *bonked* someone.
it cured my depression and AIDS
Everything works as you intended except I noticed:
1) I tried Bonk (B), and BonkBoosted (BB) [one after another and one a time], together with Bonk Bat Edition (BBat)
- Only the last mod loaded would be active; i.e.
-> B + BBat = Only BBat active (no bonk sound ever on any non-bat kills)
-> Bbat + B = Only B active (confirmed by no bonks ever on bat hits but sometimes bonk on kills)
2) Test as in 1 with B or BB + BonkMOTY (BM)
- I think it's the same result
- But I wasn't paying as much attention; first test
- PRETTY sure but NOT AS certain that B or BB + BM has same incompatibility as 1
Unexpected great thing I noticed:
1) BBat works for modded bats too (tested modded bats like Madax's etc)
-a) Cricket bat apparently is not classified as a bat by vanilla game - no bonk (is it a vanilla weapon)
So I tested 'BaseBonk'(BB) again back to back with the 'Daeng'(DN) kill sound mod again for reference and I'm pretty sure I don't hear the vanilla HeadSmash(HS) sfx,
If it IS it must be really really quiet in comparison to DN because I can hear HS very clearly in DN but not at all in BB.
To be clear, the sound I hear when I kill zombies (when bonk doesn't proc), is no different from the sound I hear when I hit zombies (not kill).
I can't think of what accounts for it not working on my end and working for you though. I checked and don't have any conflicting kill-sound mods or kill-sound packs activated at the same time as this. I have an alert sound mod active, but I'm not sure why that would bug HS out.
Don't mean to add additional work for you :) but it might be a good idea to throw the vanilla HeadSmash in because that's what the DN author told me he did (also his explanation as for his file size of I think...6mb...?)
Maybe the toggle wasn't working, or human error, or some other issue on my end?

I think that's normal for 'bonk' and 'bonk boosted' - unless Jammies added the standard HeadSmash sound to the mod as well, you would only hear kill-confirmation when the bonk actually procs. <- In this case I would use 'bonk premium'
For an example sound mod which has the standard HeadSmash sound AS WELL as the modded sound, I tried out that "Daengguitar" kill-sound pack and could hear the HeadSmash when the modded kill-sound didn't play.
