Unless you're looking for her being able to dance.
Will be refining her and Carol as I improve though.
Also, found out today that she gets invincibility against Ronald lmao
I'll put out a temporary hotfix for online play to at least allow you to play the character, but you won't be able to change the voices. Unfortunately there is no solution for this right now until the devs themselves create one.
Furthermore, with this change there several new alts, now 25 in total with them being based on Goku, Abyss, Sailor Moon, Gold, Dragonite, Garchomp, Keqing, Hatsune Miku, Mallow from Pokemon Sun and Moon and Shez from Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. The character select screen has been redone with a new structure.
Also, hurr durr 69th comment.
I'm going to make a special balancing thread for future feedback to get an idea as to what to do going forward.
Fixing the two main issues, Jab and Spring, and maybe considering some of the other ideas I mentioned would make her a super solid character
Thanks for reading my thoughts and thank you for making this workshop character!
I plan on trying out your Carol later as well and would be happy to leave feedback for her as well ^^
In the workshop description it is described as a boomerang, so maybe make it fly a set distance before coming back?
Using N-Special in the air does exactly the same thing as double jumping. There's no reason to use it in the air due to that. Maybe make using Cyclone with N-Special not gain any height?
Still would use Lilac's double jump but would help with certain combos.
-Down-Special is very cool. Need to memorize what each shield does still but is good as is, no complaints
-Up-Special, already talked about it earlier so yea
-Side-Special is really good, has great kill power tho the sparks you leave behind when cancelling it sometimes stops the opponent from being launched
also noticed that, while you usually can jump cancel the Dragon Boost when hitting an opponent it sometimes feels like it just won't do it if you wait too long after hitting the opponent
I mainly try to wait to cancel it so the sparks don't ruin the potential kill, but it sometimes just either doesn't happen or cancel happens too late
The sparks are neat for building up damage, but they are pretty annoying at high percents when I just want to kill.
Dragon Boost can kill around 30-40% off-stage if it hits, but if you miss, you are dead. If the sparks wouldn't happen when jump cancelling, it'd be a very cool high risk, high reward move off-stage
-D-Tilt is decent for poking. Nothing really noteworthy to say about
-Up-Tilt is her best tilt by far. Combos into itself at low percents, decent anti-air, love it
-Dash Attack is ok, don't really use it all that much but did find out it can combo into Up-Strong at higher percents if the opponent DIs in, which is useful!
-Fair feels good, can combo it with Cyclone to kill off the sides now at higher percents decently well
-Nair is great for comboing and building up damage
-Up-Air combos well, nothing much to say
-Back-Air is really fun to use to carry people across the stage. Great at comboing, tho I sometimes miss the ability to kill off the top with it lol
-Down-Air is really good, very quick move, good for attacking and just getting down from the air. Would like to see it have a bit more spiking power at higher percents, maybe around the 80% range it spikes a bit more. Is good tho
Most abilities that go on a cool down have an icon on the Fighter's HUD to tell you when you can use said ability again
So I'd suggest having a spring icon on Lilac's HUD so you can tell if it is ready or not
I have died so many times off-stage cause I didn't know Spring wasn't ready yet. If I could see an icon I would know to just Dragon Boost instead
Firstly, her Jab. Her Jab is useless. No matter how high the percent, your opponent does not get launched at all. They don't even leave the ground, so they can retaliate immediately.
Also, she cannot Jab Check. If someone parries her Jab it puts her into Parry Stun, something that should not happen.
Besides fixing the parry issue, I'd make the Jab at least knock the opponent upwards a little, just so they aren't on the ground and maybe let Lilac follow up with a fair or nair or something.
After playing with Lilac for a couple of hours, she feels amazing to control again!
Didn't have issues with landing my attacks or positioning, love her wavedash!
Lilac can kill now, mainly with her Up-Strong. It seems to be her most reliable kill move and being able to charge it while sliding is very nice. Have gotten a few galaxy effects and the second hit-box of Up-Strong stopped my opponent from launching tho lol
That's more of me not timing the move correctly tho so don't think it needs to be tweaked.
Side-Strong and Down-Strong both can kill as well, at slightly higher percents than Up-Strong. They both feel nice to me.
All the Strong attacks kill around the 100% range, tho Up-Strong kills Wrastor at 70-80% sometimes depending on the top blast zone, but he is the lightest character lol
As for Dragon Boost being jump cancelled, I more meant at anytime during the boost if she still has a jump, but I'll try her out and see how yours feels.
I've been putting out a few animation updates to try and smooth out some jank animations, now that I've seen your comments I will look to try and tweak her base stats a bit. I was going for a sense of speed but forgot to think about how that would impact control in a fighting game. The ground friction was part of that.
Sorry for the essay, love Lilac to death and just want her to be fun and be able to play against the main cast and stuff
Her wavedash travels really far, which is great and all, but again, can't really position myself to attack my opponent. I just slide all over the place.
She definitely cannot kill anymore, like, Strong attacks won't kill at 150% on most of the normal cast which is kinda ridiculous. I understand wanting her to be fast, but if she's too fast you can't really control her. And if she can't kill, doesn't matter how good she can combo, which is hard to do cause of her speed and slipperiness
You don't want her to be OP or anything, but a lot of the base cast in Rivals can do really dumb things, just how the game is. Long as she isn't Ronald McDonald in terms of power level, think you should allow her to do some stupid things
I've struggled to KO with her and maybe that's also due to her being, ironically, too fast.
She controls very slippery imo but it could just be me
