thanks :)

I added the dance at least as a bonus in the latest patch.
toit 22 Apr @ 3:58pm
I suppose she could also do her salute but that’s kinda an extra thing tbh
toit 22 Apr @ 1:00pm
@Aperson yes.
Aperson  [author] 18 Apr @ 3:10am
@tolt She has about three at the moment. There's a different regular taunt for the FP2 clothes alt which is based on her victory pose from that game and there's also a bench sitting taunt which can only be done on the Shenlin Park and Fortune Night stages.

Unless you're looking for her being able to dance.

This is kind of a nitpick, but could you give lilac more taunts? I feel it would be pretty cool to have multiple instead of just having one. Other than that, great mod!
knight_of_kanto 28 Feb @ 7:48pm
Could you make Brevon and Merga playable fighters or bosses? Lilac and co need some bad guys to punch.

best dragon girl
Aarter 8 Apr, 2024 @ 7:47pm
this turned out really solid, feels more satisfying to play with the shield stuff left out to focus on the rushdown moveset. and the improvement in presentation is also appreciated, i laughed when i saw the death feathers
Aperson  [author] 10 Feb, 2024 @ 6:56am
Happy Year of the Dragon everyone. To celebrate, Lilac has been given a major update with a slightly retooled moveset (shields now Rune only) and other tweaks for her presentation to fit better in Rivals of Aether.
Aperson  [author] 30 Apr, 2023 @ 3:31pm
OK Lilac has now been majorly nerfed. Hopefully she is still fun to play as after this patch but I won't be buffing her beyond this current patch's power level. Will start editing the Steam page description.
Aperson  [author] 28 Apr, 2023 @ 2:22am
Heads up, this character was featured in a Workshop tournament bracket recently and wound up being the best character by far to an unhealthy degree according to the tier list. She will be receiving a bunch of nerfs in the next patch whenever that is, I want to make informed decisions because I know there are people who like how this character plays so I don't want to throw unnecessary endlag on again. But the biggest change will be that shields will no longer reduce knockback.
Aperson  [author] 23 Mar, 2023 @ 4:22am
Also the change was made because I feel its more in line with base cast if you only get one use of a recovery move unless you wall jump.
Aperson  [author] 23 Mar, 2023 @ 3:52am
Going to leave this comment here because it seems like not a lot of people are necessarily aware of it from when I've seen people play the character or talk about playing this character, you can aim the boost diagonally. This is the intended preference for recovery when you are far away and down from the stage. Also you can jump cancel USpecial and you get a greater degree of aerial control and more height in the process. I don't think recovery is an issue with this character, she is lightweight because she has the tools in Dragon Boost and High Cyclone off Spring to recover with ease, though I might increase maneuverability from the Spring.
Baddo Beef Guddo 20 Feb, 2023 @ 10:49am
lilac really has come a long way i should say
Aperson  [author] 19 Feb, 2023 @ 9:02am
10K subs... that's quite a lot! Thanks a lot guys.
Aperson  [author] 2 Feb, 2023 @ 9:57am
All comments below are related to Versions 1 and 2 of the character, with comments from February 27th 2022 to 21st January related to the Version 2. Version 3 sees the character "Rivalised" with the sprites reshaded and the attack effects redone in an attempt to better fit her in with the Rivals of Aether art style.
Aperson  [author] 21 Jan, 2023 @ 10:57am
Debating whether or not to put a hitbox on the spinning animation of Dragon Boost. If I did I would have to rebalanced it. The move would be a bit more accurate to FP if I added the hitbox but I really don't know if that is a good idea or not.
Aperson  [author] 9 Jan, 2023 @ 5:59am
Just as a heads up, as I learn more about how to draw in Rivals artstyle it makes me want to improve on what I've done before. So on the cards for the not too distant future is a complete reshading of this character to a lower number of shades which should help her fit in with the Rivals of Aether artstyle a lot better. If anyone would prefer I keep the art the current way it is please let me know.
Baddo Beef Guddo 29 Sep, 2022 @ 7:39am
ah alright then
Aperson  [author] 29 Sep, 2022 @ 4:43am
I've run a few tests and I think it might have been an isolated incident, she's definitely zooming back to the stage when far away from it from my own tests. Ai checks how far she is from the stage before determining actions.
Baddo Beef Guddo 28 Sep, 2022 @ 4:21pm
LVL 9 and trying to recover
Aperson  [author] 28 Sep, 2022 @ 9:31am
Which difficulty was the AI on and is this in trying to recover or going for the KO? She only boosts in those circumstances.
Baddo Beef Guddo 28 Sep, 2022 @ 8:22am
The AI seems to just refuse using the dragon boost now, dunno if it's just me
Aperson  [author] 25 Sep, 2022 @ 3:16pm
I don't have any more plans for any more Freedom Planet characters right now because I want to make characters from more games than just it. Maybe one day I might go back, but as I learn more of how to do this, new characters are taking longer.

Will be refining her and Carol as I improve though.
wpyy 25 Sep, 2022 @ 1:53am
Sweetness! Do you think you can add Millia and Neera in the game as well? OwO Whenever you have time.
Aperson  [author] 13 Sep, 2022 @ 5:24am
With FP2 out today I have decided to release a big patch that remaps Lilac's colour palette, all so that her FP2 outfit can be displayed in game properly, this also benefits other alts. This is something I've wanted to do for a while, so finally able to get it done. There's a lot of other stuff to this patch too.
Fawndue 15 Jul, 2022 @ 10:15pm
yea she's working online again
Also, found out today that she gets invincibility against Ronald lmao
Aperson  [author] 11 Jul, 2022 @ 2:54pm
Hotfix deployed, hopefully this make her playable online.
Aperson  [author] 11 Jul, 2022 @ 2:17pm
Oh, yeah I think that's because of the new CSS update features not working online.

I'll put out a temporary hotfix for online play to at least allow you to play the character, but you won't be able to change the voices. Unfortunately there is no solution for this right now until the devs themselves create one.
Fawndue 11 Jul, 2022 @ 2:15pm
not sure what is bugged, but trying to use Lilac online in a friendly match lobby seems to crash the game. It doesn't even finish loading the character on the CSS. If I can, I'll post the error message later but just thought I'd report it
Aperson  [author] 28 Jun, 2022 @ 11:03am
Workshop update went live yesterday and Lilac is one character who has benefitted from this new update. In the latest patch, alongside a bunch of balance tweaks you can now choose her voice with any alt with a press of a button, no need to actually switch up alts until you get to the right one.

Furthermore, with this change there several new alts, now 25 in total with them being based on Goku, Abyss, Sailor Moon, Gold, Dragonite, Garchomp, Keqing, Hatsune Miku, Mallow from Pokemon Sun and Moon and Shez from Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. The character select screen has been redone with a new structure.

Also, hurr durr 69th comment.
Aperson  [author] 16 Jun, 2022 @ 11:44am
I almost missed your page worth of feedback thanks to Steam Notifications not showing me I had new comments lol. But I've taken the time to read everything. The latest patch buffs Jab and makes Up Special more visible on the HUD, as well as implementing the Neutral Special change.

I'm going to make a special balancing thread for future feedback to get an idea as to what to do going forward.
Fawndue 14 Jun, 2022 @ 4:45pm
All in all, very much love how she is right now
Fixing the two main issues, Jab and Spring, and maybe considering some of the other ideas I mentioned would make her a super solid character
Thanks for reading my thoughts and thank you for making this workshop character!
I plan on trying out your Carol later as well and would be happy to leave feedback for her as well ^^
Fawndue 14 Jun, 2022 @ 4:45pm
-Neutral-Special is one I rarely use, mainly due to it being auto-used when double jumping. The projectile is ok, nothing amazing. Could use it to poke with I suppose
In the workshop description it is described as a boomerang, so maybe make it fly a set distance before coming back?
Using N-Special in the air does exactly the same thing as double jumping. There's no reason to use it in the air due to that. Maybe make using Cyclone with N-Special not gain any height?
Still would use Lilac's double jump but would help with certain combos.
-Down-Special is very cool. Need to memorize what each shield does still but is good as is, no complaints
Fawndue 14 Jun, 2022 @ 4:44pm
As for her Specials
-Up-Special, already talked about it earlier so yea
-Side-Special is really good, has great kill power tho the sparks you leave behind when cancelling it sometimes stops the opponent from being launched
also noticed that, while you usually can jump cancel the Dragon Boost when hitting an opponent it sometimes feels like it just won't do it if you wait too long after hitting the opponent
I mainly try to wait to cancel it so the sparks don't ruin the potential kill, but it sometimes just either doesn't happen or cancel happens too late
The sparks are neat for building up damage, but they are pretty annoying at high percents when I just want to kill.
Dragon Boost can kill around 30-40% off-stage if it hits, but if you miss, you are dead. If the sparks wouldn't happen when jump cancelling, it'd be a very cool high risk, high reward move off-stage
Fawndue 14 Jun, 2022 @ 4:44pm
-F-Tilt is good, decent damage, decently fast. Good for knocking opponents away or off-stage
-D-Tilt is decent for poking. Nothing really noteworthy to say about
-Up-Tilt is her best tilt by far. Combos into itself at low percents, decent anti-air, love it

-Dash Attack is ok, don't really use it all that much but did find out it can combo into Up-Strong at higher percents if the opponent DIs in, which is useful!
Fawndue 14 Jun, 2022 @ 4:43pm
Alright, on to general stuff that I like
-Fair feels good, can combo it with Cyclone to kill off the sides now at higher percents decently well
-Nair is great for comboing and building up damage
-Up-Air combos well, nothing much to say
-Back-Air is really fun to use to carry people across the stage. Great at comboing, tho I sometimes miss the ability to kill off the top with it lol
-Down-Air is really good, very quick move, good for attacking and just getting down from the air. Would like to see it have a bit more spiking power at higher percents, maybe around the 80% range it spikes a bit more. Is good tho
Fawndue 14 Jun, 2022 @ 4:43pm
The other main issue is her Spring. It works just fine, my issue is when can I use it again. I don't have any idea when it is ready lol
Most abilities that go on a cool down have an icon on the Fighter's HUD to tell you when you can use said ability again
So I'd suggest having a spring icon on Lilac's HUD so you can tell if it is ready or not
I have died so many times off-stage cause I didn't know Spring wasn't ready yet. If I could see an icon I would know to just Dragon Boost instead
Fawndue 14 Jun, 2022 @ 4:43pm
Now before going into what else I liked and opinions on what I would change/tweak, I want to talk about two things that really need to be updated in some way
Firstly, her Jab. Her Jab is useless. No matter how high the percent, your opponent does not get launched at all. They don't even leave the ground, so they can retaliate immediately.
Also, she cannot Jab Check. If someone parries her Jab it puts her into Parry Stun, something that should not happen.
Besides fixing the parry issue, I'd make the Jab at least knock the opponent upwards a little, just so they aren't on the ground and maybe let Lilac follow up with a fair or nair or something.
Fawndue 14 Jun, 2022 @ 4:42pm
I want to start this off by saying this is a BIG improvement
After playing with Lilac for a couple of hours, she feels amazing to control again!
Didn't have issues with landing my attacks or positioning, love her wavedash!
Lilac can kill now, mainly with her Up-Strong. It seems to be her most reliable kill move and being able to charge it while sliding is very nice. Have gotten a few galaxy effects and the second hit-box of Up-Strong stopped my opponent from launching tho lol
That's more of me not timing the move correctly tho so don't think it needs to be tweaked.
Side-Strong and Down-Strong both can kill as well, at slightly higher percents than Up-Strong. They both feel nice to me.
All the Strong attacks kill around the 100% range, tho Up-Strong kills Wrastor at 70-80% sometimes depending on the top blast zone, but he is the lightest character lol
Fawndue 14 Jun, 2022 @ 12:19pm
I'll go check her out soon!
As for Dragon Boost being jump cancelled, I more meant at anytime during the boost if she still has a jump, but I'll try her out and see how yours feels.
Aperson  [author] 13 Jun, 2022 @ 8:36am
@Fawndue Just updated her base stats, hopefully this improves the ability to control her. She's still fast, but that speed shouldn't be so slippy anymore.
Aperson  [author] 13 Jun, 2022 @ 7:58am
Double checked the code, Dragon Boost can be jump cancelled provided you've hit someone in the air or if you're on the ground.
Aperson  [author] 13 Jun, 2022 @ 7:57am
Regarding Dair spiking, I had reduced its knockback before because of the potential to KO opponents at 30% safely given you can then Dragon Boost back onto the stage but may have overdone it in that sense. But yeah, the Strongs and Dragon Boost have definitely been buffed and have been tested, she should be able to KO at even just over 100% or so.
Aperson  [author] 13 Jun, 2022 @ 7:57am
You can jump cancel out of the Dragon Boost, I beleve. I also buffed her Strongs again in a recent patch in order to increase her kill power. I think I might know why she's so slippy, she has low ground friction when coming to a stop, I think if I improve that, maybe change it to the same as Muno Sonic, then she should be a lot more controllable and it should hopefully resolve some of your issues. I also backpedalled on a lot of aerial friction changes recently and made her horizontal aerial friction more like Maypul's, since Maypul is the faster character in base cast.

I've been putting out a few animation updates to try and smooth out some jank animations, now that I've seen your comments I will look to try and tweak her base stats a bit. I was going for a sense of speed but forgot to think about how that would impact control in a fighting game. The ground friction was part of that.
Fawndue 12 Jun, 2022 @ 2:29pm
Some suggestions, besides giving her more kill power and a bit less speed, is to make her able to jump cancel out of Dragon Rush. Would give her some fun movement if she hasn't used her air-jump yet. Also, can her dair spike again? Pretty please?
Sorry for the essay, love Lilac to death and just want her to be fun and be able to play against the main cast and stuff
Fawndue 12 Jun, 2022 @ 2:28pm
She's just slippery on the ground, like it can be hard to position correctly
Her wavedash travels really far, which is great and all, but again, can't really position myself to attack my opponent. I just slide all over the place.
She definitely cannot kill anymore, like, Strong attacks won't kill at 150% on most of the normal cast which is kinda ridiculous. I understand wanting her to be fast, but if she's too fast you can't really control her. And if she can't kill, doesn't matter how good she can combo, which is hard to do cause of her speed and slipperiness
You don't want her to be OP or anything, but a lot of the base cast in Rivals can do really dumb things, just how the game is. Long as she isn't Ronald McDonald in terms of power level, think you should allow her to do some stupid things
Aperson  [author] 4 Jun, 2022 @ 6:00pm
Hey there, thanks for the feedback. Due to a lack of feedback in regards to balance for the character I've been unable to determine whether she was over or underpowered so I made my own decisions. I may have nerfed the character a bit too much in the process. As for the slippyness, perhaps this is due to the fact that her air friction is altered from jump depending on how fast you're going before you jump?
Fawndue 31 May, 2022 @ 11:31am
I feel like this Lilac has no kill power atm now, wasn't always like that
I've struggled to KO with her and maybe that's also due to her being, ironically, too fast.
She controls very slippery imo but it could just be me
