I can build Chapter Fortresses, but I can't then make Space Marines. Do they come from the same tech, or have I just managed to not get to Gene Tailoring yet?

@Chase As in the description: you require the techs Gene Tailoring (Space Marines), Durasteel Materials (Titans), The Living State (Death Watch) and Telepathy (Brotherhoods) for each respectively, which unlocks the associated buildings that will open up the option to construct them.

Also this works fine in current version and is save game compatible.

You just get it via the technology tree, usually between early-mid game. Latest should be solid midgame

Those are just chaos marines coming out of warp. That's odd though, it might be a bug with the AI because they can't build actually build them so it simply spawns them for them.

It's possibly a compatibility issue (since putting it lower in the load order seems to lower the odds of it happening) but every so often there'll be random space marine armies spawned in a distant system.

and the idea is that if a general gets the primarch trait, it gives them some damn good buffs and makes them immortal

I just don't know how you can control or limit how many can receive the trait, or if theres some way to be able to specifically give traits to them or make generals with the trait, because the issue I can see late game is a player with 300 primarchs

I'm trying to rack my brain rn for more ideas, because I had an idea that really wouldn't work with this mod in its current form, but it would be cool if it could be expanded to where in order to make astartes, you have to gene mod a pop with a trait that basically prevents them from reproducing but makes them exponentially tougher and stronger, and then you could also tack on other traits too, and then the mod would only allow you to recruit space marines from pops with that trait. That would also allow you to create different chapters that have different traits going on for them too. Maybe even a super rare trait for generals that's just "Primarch"

@LastLEviathan Hmmmm.... maybe things like, being able to designate planets a chapter homeworld which increases the speed as to which marines are produced among other things, or maybe the ability to upgrade the Chapter fortress into a Legion Fortress that dramatically increases the speed of recruitment

Also a further tech that allows the creation of primaris

Yeah like Kipo said, I use this mod alot and love it even when I'm not doing 40k things, and I would love to see if it can somehow be expanded
