I too had to remove this mod because only on merc would follow me, even after the bodyguard changes had been removed

Hello guys, Ive been using this mod with Kenshi kaizo and its works fine for me. I have less than 100 mods using this and it works fine.

My current play through is balance with this mod. Though there are some bugs but a quick save and reload will fix it.

That's really weird, I don't see it at all. I guess I'll just have to remove the bodyguard changes for now.

I don't know if that makes any sense, but in the 'Bodyguard' entry, apart from the 'Medic non-urgent SqS', there's another entry named 'Squad AI Goals: 62008-rebirth.mod' which is highlighted red as an error, with a type of INVALIDREF

@Adeptus Freemanicus Thanks for responding! What I meant was that I just tested my save without the mod to see if it worked and then reloaded (I saved next to a mercenary to make testing easier).

As for the bodyguard changes, I couldn't decipher exactly how mods work in FCS so I just resorted to deleting the whole thing, hoping it would help you find the exact cause.

Unfortunately, it looks like nothing changed. Only one person follows and the others remain sat. :(

@Demonic Taco, I will give it a look, but I want to say that you should never disable mods since at somepoint you will run into issues, while importing does solve many things it is still not perfect.

I've ran into many issues because I was adding/remove mods mid-save.

And regarding your fix, I will keep that in mind, but I doubt that all the bodyguard changes need to be removed, I'll come back to you soon once I look into it.

EDIT: I found a (temporary) solution for anyone wanting to tinker with FCS and it will probably shed some light for the bug fix OP.

By deleting all the 'Bodyguard' entries in FCS, this issue was immediately fixed. I don't know what might break by deleting this part of the mod, but I prefer it that way until a proper fix :)

Hey, I'll second what @Alabistyr said. I confirmed it by removing the mod and importing. This completely removes your ability to recruit mercenaries as only the one you talk to will get up and follow you, with the others staying back with a Relaxing state.

Could you please check what might be affecting this?

@madasik, I'll see if I can make a compatibility patch at some point, but for now let UWE override my mod, yes some features will be lost but it should hopefully reduce the issues that you are having.

I played my mod with UWE and had no issues, but idk, we all have different hardware, software, and mod lists, so it's not out of the question.

Very weird bug when running with Living World, can recruit mercenaries but only the leader/NPC spoken too; if they're in a bar the rest remain seated. Same with the Holy Nation paladins, the leader will follow but the squad doesn't. Nothing else in my mod list which affects mercenaries or follower AI/mechanics. Any under the hood idea as to the cause?

I can confirm it works 100% fine for me, works with sidearms (Katanas) and main weapons.

It's either a mod you have or some sort of issue, try either disabling other mods, starting a new save, importing your save, and double checking you don't have block mode enabled.

I'm actually using that right now as my load order is quite large. I think I may have yours overwrite uwe as it doesnt include the same ai fixes

I use https://github.com/millerscout/Kenshi-Mod-Manager/releases , which works really well, but I suggest you save your current load order using the built in feature it comes with.

@NotoriousNix, So the load order is basically a ranking, saying which is more important to you, if you think UWE or any other mod is more important then put it below the mods you care about less.

The mods higher in your load order get overwritten by the mods below them. If you want you can get an auto-sorting tool (I use one and it works great) and it can do everything for you.

Been playing this mod with reactive world (patch included and correct mod order) for a while and I'm pretty sure as of the latest experimental branch update the generate distant towns setting is causing the game to crash. With generate town setting disabled, game is running smooth. Great mod, thank you

hi if you play with lots of mods, you kind of need more backpack space and slot stacking (or all the extra items plus usual ones, become harder to manage), so ive always been in favour of some extra backpack space and slots/stacking :)

I understand, but I don't see how some items can be stackable like armor plates and books but other items can't be, and this applies to other items and traders.

So I see it being a bit more realistic, consistent, and overall, an improvement.

I hope you can find other mods that you can enjoy.

This mod doesn't respect core design. Stackable items, oversized backpack kind of things are unnecessary and overpowered. Unrealistic either. I honestly can not call this is a "Improvement". No offense tho.

uh soo yeah...
I tested your mod with Gens, LivingWorld, Dialoge+, Recruitable Prisoners and some additional races for a little(about 5hrs walkingand talking), all working nice & w/o crashes or strange NPC movements. I hope these mods will run smoothly whole time

I don't know if its part of your mod or if it was part of the game before (new player) but in every engagement with the fogman there's always a couple that start running away for self preservation after they get knocked down and come back up. I always felt that was just out of character for them due to lore.
