My solution was even more convoluted than I thought it would be, so I'm relatively confident it's intended, but just to be sure — intended solution?
The blind run video was intended as a disguised "normal Celeste video" on my YT, where after the Celeste gameplay it would cut to me playing this map. It was meant to be a silly joke, but the quality of this puzzle overshadowed everything so much that I honestly forgot I was doing that bit by the end of it ;p Everything else I wanted to say is in the video.
Indeed, your solution then deviates very much from the intended and unfortunately skips important parts of the solution. The "don't jump" thing was not so much meant as a strict rule, but as an easy way for the player to check if you are doing something wrong. Grabbing the cube on the green field from below (needs jumping) and VERY cumbersome, fiddly jumping and movement to aim it & would never be intended in a map of mine, because I strive for an easy execution. 1/2
Holy moly this one took me 10+ hours to solve, I thought I would never beat it.
The logic was insane, some of the moves were hard to figure out for me (like burning the stupid turret)
Even after getting frustrated and losing my mind, I enjoyed it and had a wonderful time solving it!
Big thumbs up
@Aneonen: I'm glad you liked it. About your last spoiler: are you referring to the "temporary" cube?
Excellent puzzle! Like Ontology, this map (largely) felt like it passed 'quickly.' I think I can articulate this better than I did previously, in that at almost all points in the deduction process, even if I had to perform a lot of mental work, I constantly felt like I was making progress, either by literally advancing the solution or better understanding the structure of the map through my failings. Many of the setups felt restrictive enough to be surprisingly forgiving with respect to the reasoning necessary; the means by which a portal can be preserved under the companion cube dropper, the means of burning the turret, the third cube being over goo, etc. The biggest roadblock was perhaps that I ignored my own deductions and was swayed by the philosophy of reuses - realizing my mistake and completing the journey was a wonderful confidence boost.
For anyone attempting this map, do not let the scary layout prevent you from giving it a go. It will burn into your eyes until you can picture it perfectly in your head :)
Blind Run , 8 hours , 38 minutes (the longest map so far for me, yet super fun to play)
@jandlml: You're welcome. Thank you for playing!
This time, however, it is as excellent as ever. From the turret being shot by the laser to the invasion of the turret field, the lifeform sensor is cleverly combined. The real battle is constantly going back and forth. This silent duel finally came to an end.R.I.P.
You've checked before
I recorded a complete run:
Enjoy!
@Libbybapa, lapicidas, tom: You're true players of cognition. Glad to see you solved the map and enjoyed it. Thank you very much for your feedback, favs and videos. So much fun to watch!
Big thanks to everyone who brought exploits to my attention.
Originally I had solved it much more complicated, then "Narkodes" gave me tips for improvement.
Totally time spent: i think about 13-14
Part 1 Getting all 3 cubes
Part 2 Killing the turret
Part 3 Ending
Maybe you have found a more elegant solution, and these videos are just for reference.
Walk-through: Part 1
Part 2
Part 1 shows how to get all 3 cubes
Part 2 shows how to kill turrets and go to the exit
To be honest, i dont know if i am doing all the stuffs correctly.
Should need more thinking...
The process of getting three cubes is so hard.
I think it's a difficult map that suits the difficulty level 8.
If I can solve this map, I will upload a video.
