This mod is no longer functional. Just crashes Space Engineers. Same with Material Scanner.

Alternately if for some reason you refuse to setup an account or are not old enough to setup an account, perhaps you could have someone else report your issues on the discord trackers on your behalf.

@NotTildaSwinton Weapon scanner issues should be resolved, I do not believe it is in an authors best interest however to have to monitor bug reports from multiple sources, it is better I feel if they can focus their attention in one place and then be able to modify their mods accordingly to their determination and time. Discord can however be used from a web browser and the account setup only takes a few seconds.

Do not post bug reports here.

From the description, I don't troubleshoot, give technical advice, or have discussions in the comment section. That's what the Discord is for. Comments get lost to time, but discord histories can be searched and referenced.

NotTildaSwinton, I understand if you don't want to create a Discord account, but you must understand that is how I manage to provide support for 30+ unique mods, nearly all of which are entirely code.

I don't have a discord account. When I click on a Weapon Scanner from my ship's terminal, it causes the game to crash instantly.

It'll work while on a subgrid. The results are always written to the Custom Data of the scanner block. The LCD part won't work, since it only checks the current grid. However, I think you can use something like Automatic LCDs 2 to display the Custom Data to an LCD on the main grid. Or you can just write a simple PB script to display the Custom Data contents to an LCD.

Is there a way to make this work whilst having the scanner on a sub-grid? I want to use it on a custom turret attached to my base to scan nearby cargo ships

Steam isn't showing all mods in the mod menu for some reason. I don't know if it's a Steam issue, or a Keen issue. You can help motivate them to fix the problem if you went to Keen's support site and opened a bug. Sorry :(

So is this like a mod? When I go to the mods menu thing, I don't see it there. I first figured this out when I tried to put a weapons scanner on my ship, but there was no "weapon scanner" option on the hotbar when i put it there. Yes, I am subscribed to it, but it just doesn't appear in the mod menu for me. Can you pls help me?

Hi Jimbo1676, there was a bug in the original default configuration values. Delete the config and restart the game and you should be good. If you've customized the config and don't want to lose your changes, just update the WorkingPower setting so it's 3 or less. If you have any other problems, feel free to jump in the Discord linked above and file a bug report and a log file if possible.

Hello, I love the cargo scanner but I'm having an issue with the weapon scanner. As soon as I activate a scan the weapon scanner powers off. What am I doing wrong?

I have an idea, what if turning off the weapons hides them from the scanner? That way we can scan, we can have stealth ships or guerrilla warfare vessels or whatever, plus it could add a level of complexity

@Crysis Revelation, thank you. I certainly didn't intend to spoil anybody's fun. It seemed like a fun thing to do and I appreciate that you can appreciate the effort.

By "stealth" ship, I think you mean what I would call a "Q" ship, right? Something with hidden weaponry? That's a very good point. You are correct, this does see through that.

Some potential ways to integrate the scanner while preserving the value of a Q ship would be to hamstring the scanner a bit. Options include increasing the scan duration (say 30 seconds), increasing the power consumption (100 MW -- currently a bug prohibits this but I'm working on it), increasing the cooldown (say to 30 minutes), or possibly through the use of a block-limiter (like 1 weapon scanner permitted per player, similar to how BAR are restricted on many servers).
