Unlikely. PDX removed outfit triggers for jobs with their new updates, so much of the appeal of the mod was killed. If the project is ever revisited from an art side, we may revise the model and revisit it, but for now, there aren't solid plans.

You really should be crediting Stygian100 for the Ascellians art if you're using their art as a base, right?

I do keep the thought in the back of my mind, but there hasn't been any progress worth speaking of on the art side, and personally I've only grown farther and farther from Stellaris myself. I don't even have it installed anymore. Even so, updates may continue to be intermittent, but I wouldn't expect any expansions to come in the foreseeable future.

@asmallauthor1996 oh ok thanks. i'd like to know why they keep messing with the portraits. thanks for letting me know its not a mod i have messing it up. heres hopinh this and some of the other good ones get updated.

So is this planned to be fixed or is this mod dead? Paradox isnt gonna revert the changes as it was intentional

@MechaShadowV2 You're not the only one. The 3.12 "Andromeda" update and the Machine Age DLC changed how the Portrait system operates, resulting in all mods that add Portraits no longer functioning unless updated. Many mod authors have been hard at work getting used to the new system, either by updating their mods or creating patches for abandoned ones.

so i noticed that i dont even see them as an option when in empire creation, I see that its broken right now, but is that the problem everyone else is having or is it something else? because i have a star wars race mod thats about the same age as this one and it has the same problem, it doesnt even show up

I agree with Doktor Neun. The current “arrangement” of species Portraits being how they’re set up now is an intentional decision due to the changes introduced in the Machine Age DLC and the post-3.12 updates. While it’s obviously your choice to not release any updates/revisions, I wouldn’t exactly hold my breath for someone at Paradox to implement changes to the system in place.

From my understanding the Portraits being broken was intentional because of a new system or something. I would love an update to this like everyone else.

I'm going to sit on my hands until they have a chance to look at it tomorrow morning. If a hotfix is coming I'm not going to push any rollback changes.

All portrait mods require updating as of 3.12.

The Ascellians portraits are missing from the ingame list, they seem to have been overwritten by the humanoid_16 portraits from Astral Planes (I think the Ascellians also used hum_16?). Not sure tho.

Are soldiers supposed to have a different preset outfit compared to enforcers? I assumed the fourth head and body outfit would be for them, but they seem to be sharing the same outfit instead.

@G-Lew I keep meaning to pop in and take a look just to update everything to the new version number and clean up the duplicates from the changes a few versions back. This week I've been poking around with HoI4, so I might make good on that old promise soon. Hopefully. We'll see! Sorry in the meantime.

It's only the two of us. I handle any model tweaking and the scripted bones of the mod itself with the asset selectors, outfit triggers, etc. and Hestrir does all the conceptualizing and painting. Things have been difficult since the war in Ukraine kicked off and communication has only become more sparse. There was some talk of where to go and interest of what to pursue, some concepts shared, but nothing substantial enough to release.

No worries. The mod, otherwise, seems to work fine.
Stripping everything but the humanoid_16 custom_portraits block from the 99_xenotype_species_classes_overwrites file seems to solve all problems. Haven't tested extensively though.

The update moving from overwriting to additive species categories would do that, I expect. I keep meaning to look at everything and update it, which is mostly cleaning out. Unfortunately there will not be new content to present.

The mod pretty much works in my experience. Just make sure it's at or near the bottom of your load order and all the models should work properly, even with the paragon stuff :D

As far as I am aware, the mod is still fully functional. An update will be coming following the extensive changes with 3.8, however, I do not expect it to include new content.

Hey all, sorry for the general silence. Plans have been bumpy ever since the start of the ongoing geopolitical crisis over in Eastern Europe and it's complicated things significantly, but I finally have a couple of updates to mention:

Because PDX released remastered humans before we managed to, it's an area we no longer think needs immediate attention and it'll be abandoned for the moment. Instead, the next portrait will be one of the Necroids. While the future is uncertain and we can't make any promises, we hope to begin working again sometime after the holiday season slows after New Year's.

Xenotype should still work fine with 3.6, which is why I haven't been in any rush to push an update. If anybody encounters any issues, however, please report them and I'll take a look. Otherwise, I'll run the game sometime and update the number if everything checks out.

im trying to make a patch between this mod and this but it's tough going. idk why elves need to touch so much of the same files, might just ditch it for xeno tbh.

@mhariz1993 Yes, it appears in the humanoid tab. If you don't see the portraits, try putting this mod as the last mod in your ironymod-manager load order
