axpgainmod2 is the same thing, just with extra options and displays the current XP modifier

I'm looking for a good XP mod, but to be honest I can make no sense of the description. I'm not sure which parts are for the old or the new version, or what most of the options do.

Okay, check out the axpgainmod2 and in there there's a script that displays the levels available at the top of the skills bar.
You can use something like that to implement that.

Feel free to link your mod here here as well so people can find it.

My current goals changed and I'm adding a alternative leveling system instead of xp gains, so this will probably not be further developed much.

Hi there, thanks for the mod. I've further modded this mod to act as an xp saturation mod for our server. Basically quick xp gain up to total level x and then no xp gain with the levels going up based on the world age (adjustable in sandbox setting). Let me know if you would like a copy of the LUA code if those are functionality that could be of interest to you. I'm still working on adding a message when people are at the saturation point, but the rest of the features are implemented.

Yes on the screenshot, the XP Mod Min and XP Mod Max, they are both 1, meaning there will be 0 variation in XP gain between different total skill levels

Nigel just to clarify is that screenshot there the way you can simply boost a type of skill throughout the whole game (regardless of levels)? I am very bad with mathematics and this is very confusing for me lol. Sorry

Try settings like this. The mod is not intended for a flat XP boost.
However as long as you set the min and max level correctly up, it should work as you intend.

I will make sure to add that functionality as self explanitory in the update

I set Tailoring to 3.0 in the server settings, but it gives the exact same amount as before. Are there any additional steps to follow?

Thank you! Just found it by brute force in "seerver" folder in "servertest_SandboxVars.lua"at the very bottom and edited manually.
P.S. Thanks for the mod! Is so damn flexible and simple! =)

Yes load, the mod in the main menu and click accept.
Then click host-> manage settings -> edit Selected Settings.
Then scroll down and look for it on the left side

Is there a way to change settings on dedicated server?

Q:How do the traits fast and slow learner interact with the calculations?
A: From what I've seen, the multiplier is added on top of those traits, so those traits continue to provide the default effect and then the XP mod seems to be added on top of that.

I don't have a surefire way to test this, but it seems to be working alright right now

Misc is anything with the miscellaneous category, I needed to add it because I use the lockpick mod that adds the misc category.

Maybe some other mods use it as well

And which skills are affected by the Misc. modifier?

Hi, I don't know how to use the mod I'm afraid. I installed it, it's showing up in my Mods list and I have it enabled, but I can't seem to figure out how to use it.

@Agitatio
If you get 3 XP for an action, the modifier(5X) adds 15 XP. If Remove Standard is enabled, then the modifier will add 12 XP(15-3).

Total XP gained: Remove standard [15]. NOT remove standard [18]
Agitatio 11 Jan, 2022 @ 12:09am
@Seed-EN- The settings are in Sandbox Options.

@nigel What does "Remove standard XP" option do?
Seed 11 Jan, 2022 @ 12:00am
is there a keybind to open this? cause i can't seem to open it in game and you said there's an in game settings for it, using the latest steam update (41.65)
nigel  [author] 10 Jan, 2022 @ 8:37pm
@Agitatio
Yes, I like it this way. I play with random characters, so this is very fun for me, sometimes I start with high amount of skills and the multiplier is small, sometimes I start with low and I can spec into a certain thing, how I play in the start determines what I'm good at.

I don't like grinding, so I never focus on grinding for skills, I just play the game.
I also made a mod that only lets me read 1 skill book at a time, reading is boring, so this makes the game in general more fun for me.

This way I can play the game, have some levels. It's much better than being good at everything, I now am good at something or average at many things.

Saw your comment on Standardized Passive XP. So you went ahead and did it yourself? Are you satisfied with the result? Definitely looks very interesting to me as I'm trying to decrease initial grind and XP grind in general for my server in reasonable ways, not just flat multipliers.

Oh ! great thanks ! that's exactly what I need.
nigel  [author] 9 Jan, 2022 @ 7:29am
The crafting modifier will apply to all crafting skills. If you put all the other category modifiers to 0, you can increase that one. If you put the XP mod min and XP mod max both to for example 5, then you will always get 5x XP for crafting
nigel  [author] 9 Jan, 2022 @ 7:28am
@sad0 The image above shows all the configurable options. You cannot increase individual skills, however you can increase the categories, such as craft or survival.
sad0 9 Jan, 2022 @ 6:24am
Hello ! Is there a way to use your mod only to increase the XP of certain skills, but with the vanilla XP system?
Basically, I would like to remove VHS from my server but I want to increase the experience gained in survival and crafting skills to compensate.
nickodemos 5 Jan, 2022 @ 12:54pm
Will be giving this one a shot on my next play through. Honestly this makes a great deal of sense to help specialize and remove the initial grind of the game.
