had to remove all perks from assistant that branch off from apprenticeship as it is checking your character data for an apprenticeship which you don't have.

Okay, but when do you become 'the mercenary'? I'm only seeing the usual 3 vanilla classes when I start.

as of right now they are only available to players. adding bots would require a overwrite of every single location type in the game making it incompatible with very popular mods like Stations From Beyond. For that reason I don't plan on adding bot support.

I may have too many job mods going (overwriting each other), but not I'm seeing this- where should I be finding the mercenaries, the standard HR interface?

I kept the complete randomness, every perk has the possibility to take a slot. Generic perk or Specialization perk.

Its working now. In relation to the update, does all perks have a chance to give a generic perk? Or only the new "luck" tree? Way i did it on my fix was exactly like the new vanilla trees, with a row on top exclusively for random generic perks, and the trees were unchanged.

Installed and reinstalled new version, but the mod cant be enabled due to
'sprite "Mods/Mercenary Job/Mercenary/MercTalent.png" not found!'
I checked, and the png is on the right place. Am i the only one with this issue?

In relation to the next update, which will revamp talent trees, how will you handle generic talents? Had idea of them being chance related events, rather than being a random perk from a random tree. Something along the line of 1% to instakill without turrets, 10% to deal double damage, that sort of stuff.

For the dropping items the way it works is you actually start with 3 of the same item that decays instantly on round start dropping a random item. Unfortunately it doesn't drop that item in your inventory but on the ground instead.

Just wanted to let you know that when they spawn in, they seem to drop 3 random items onto the ground.

Is it possible to have the personel recruiters at bases also generate npcs with the Mercenary job? I'd love to use this in Single Player.

unfortunately no the ragdoll idea does not work as the list used for the random perk picking only works when attached to an item. The reason we didn't let each merc have the item is to prevent boosting other crewmates with the item and creating a god squad.

Welp, i tried to test it but having to complete an mission every time is time consuming. Isn't it possible to give the item and let us use it ourselves, as well as getting it when we get the skill or ragdoll for a few seconds, rather than completing the mission?

it just gives it to you you should never see it. That item spawns in your inventory and is instantly used which gives a random perk.

honestly I am unsure but since it is the most radical change to the game it is fairly reasonable. since the way the job gives you your perks is a new item that is given to you upon a successful mission which uses the vanilla XML stuff. I have no idea how LUA for Baro changes these things so if there is a fix I wouldn't know about it.

I have Warden job mod and neurotrauma surgery, which adds a surgeon job. Is that the problem? Wouldn't it get perks only from vanilla?

I tested it earlier this morning and it worked with no errors, however it was the only mod I had running. Nothing is overwritten in the mod either so it should be completely fine to use with all other mods. Unless those mods add something like a new skill and overwrites all the vanilla classes.

one limitation of the mod is that at time of creation enabling any new class mod that modifies perks would not work without a game restart. When you enabled the mod did you restart your game? Same goes for everyone who is playing with you or joins the server, They also have to restart their game with the mod enabled for it to work.

How do you know what perks you have? mine just says "random perk x", even after changing level. Is it only when you complete a mission?
