as others have mentioned, 1x3 and 1x5 would be great as those are my walkway sizes
Dizzy Ioeuy 10 Jul, 2023 @ 12:55am
Been playing with it enabled along with 300 other mods in a game that has lasted 15 in game years... I think I can confidently say this mod is fine.
Chairmen J 9 Jul, 2023 @ 6:36pm
Would it be possible to have the mod info checked and simply updated if it still works fine in 1.4? It does help to know for sure it still runs smooth before i re-add one of my long time favorite mods.
SHRoronoaZoro 18 Mar, 2023 @ 3:09pm
Anyone know if it will harm my save if I remove this from a current save? Just realized I have this installed still but it's not updated.
velascoje 22 Jan, 2023 @ 2:51pm
Unfortunate that this is not updated yet, the lanterns are really gorgeous and I love them along with Erin's decorative mods. A 1x3 lantern string would also be lovely as my walkways are also 3 wide.
Dizzy Ioeuy 19 Dec, 2022 @ 4:11pm
It works fine in 1.4 guys. Relax.
sandmann 16 Dec, 2022 @ 8:55pm
please update :)

Sumatris 23 Oct, 2022 @ 11:56pm
I second the request for 1x3 lanterns since my streets are always three tiles wide. A 1x5 option would also be neat, but not nearly as important as 1x3. Anyway, great mod, thanks for sharing :-).
P@PI 21 Oct, 2022 @ 5:09pm
pls 1.4 update
PremierVader 10 Jul, 2022 @ 3:03am
Hey so does this mod affect performance in any way?
Daniel 2 May, 2022 @ 2:22pm
I appreciate that.
Ouroboros  [author] 22 Apr, 2022 @ 9:54am
I will inquire about adding 1x3
Dusty Lens 17 Apr, 2022 @ 12:21pm
1x3 lanterns would be exceptional, just to echo Daniel
Daniel 7 Apr, 2022 @ 2:51pm
Any way I can add 1x3 lanterns? Build some streets but the colored lanterns dont reach.
Lord Varriack 7 Apr, 2022 @ 5:41am
at first I was like "why would I personally want a lantern mod? eh, probably a custom model so I might as well check out their work" then I looked at it and was like "oh that's actually really pretty and would really add a good decorative item to my game!" 10 outa 10 would use!
Saromal 26 Mar, 2022 @ 9:19am
No Green Lantern? Must be a Sinestro fan
Alwyn 2 Mar, 2022 @ 11:56am
Very nice mod, can we expect more colors in the future ? It would be nice ! :47_thumb_up:
hoopylorax 18 Feb, 2022 @ 9:30am
Love this mod! Thanks so much for providing it!
Ouroboros  [author] 14 Feb, 2022 @ 11:47am
Updated. Let me know if the extra tab is still an issue.
Ouroboros  [author] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 3:05pm
@Vagineer: I'll inquire again if this can be fixed
Vagineer1 1 Feb, 2022 @ 2:37am
Not sure if it's been updated yet but that pointless extra architect tab is still there.
Kaisahmk 30 Jan, 2022 @ 4:12pm
Hi i have a problem, Every time my pawns finish building one, the lamp doesn't appear and the resources are lost.
Peat 29 Jan, 2022 @ 11:10pm
I already love this! I enjoy building city-like bases and these lights are going to be a great addition
rayman3120 28 Jan, 2022 @ 2:25pm
oohhh shit. home decorations other then sculptures :D amazing!
Kosher Pickles 24 Jan, 2022 @ 2:29am
so far i've seen no other problems. i'll keep you updated :)
Ouroboros  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 4:34pm
Is there any other issues or just the surplus architect tab?
Ouroboros  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 4:32pm
@kosher: Seems so. I'll try to get that fixed.
Kosher Pickles 23 Jan, 2022 @ 2:53pm
does this mod add an completely empty architect tab called "lanternsdes" or is that something else
Ouroboros  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 7:33am
The mod is updated and should now be electric option /w drop down menu. Let me know if anything is off. Will inquire about switching to light terrain affordance.
RaptorMother 20 Jan, 2022 @ 6:58am
hi! sorry to be a bother, but would it be possible for these to not require a medium terrain affordance to be built? Sadly, they are impossible to be placed on sand or water (unless using some unightly stone bridges. Would be really nice to place these over water, between the buildings in my fishing village! Thank you so much ^^
MrXarous 18 Jan, 2022 @ 5:37pm
I was just messing around on a local save and if you want electricity just go into the xml and under <comps> remove all the fuel stuff and replace it with:

<li Class="CompProperties_Power">
<compClass>CompPowerTrader</compClass>
<shortCircuitInRain>false</shortCircuitInRain>
<basePowerConsumption>5</basePowerConsumption>
</li>
<li Class="CompProperties_Flickable"/>

that makes it flickable, never short circuits in rain, and 5 watts. I have mine as 5 watts because I also removed the heatpusher comp so that it doesn't act as a heat source and just tiny led lights inside. (You can change the powerconsumption number to whatever you feel is reasonable.) Hope this helps those that want to use it before it's patched. Cheers.

It's hard to get wood since my current map is in the arctic... Would be nice to have an electrical alternative.
Ouroboros  [author] 12 Jan, 2022 @ 11:52pm
I have asked Erok if it would be possible to make them electric also. As well as a drop down menu for less clutter. I'll see what can be done.
Captain Roman S'Jet 12 Jan, 2022 @ 7:58pm
Simple Lanterns to immerse you in the game even more. Commissioned by me, made by Erok. Originally requested for the purpose of lightning in alleys and streets as I prefer cities and villages over superstructures but can naturally be placed in-doors as well.
heilan9 12 Jan, 2022 @ 6:25pm
any chance for a no refuel option? later in the game refuel objects lag a lot
Tomoko 12 Jan, 2022 @ 4:11am
I just tried a recent playthrough with an open-plan village rather than a closed-in superstructure. They're sadly just not as effective. I like mods like this, it offsets that loss in usability with pretty lights.

@Dizzy loeuy Probably thanks to your comment, I don't know, but Erok updated the mod to include pathing fixes and for pawns to walk under them. Inquired about drop-down menu to reduce clutter. This update is up now.
Hoki 11 Jan, 2022 @ 12:18pm
i love the mod. i like the style but the texture was rather confusing at first especially the frontal view makes it difficult to discern its actual size (sideways it looks like 3x1 and on frontal it looks 4x2).

personally i'd recommend making 1 wire going all the way through with less of a bend
robes 11 Jan, 2022 @ 11:04am
I'm learning about code in the comments and I've never written anything more than a HTML page :D
Dizzy Ioeuy 10 Jan, 2022 @ 5:01pm
So here's your fix code that makes pawns go beneath, and allows for them stand directly beneath and costs them nothing to do so movementwise so that pathfinding isn't borked by this mod:

<altitudeLayer>Skyfaller</altitudeLayer>
<passability>Standable</passability> <!-- or delete this line -->
<pathCost>0</pathCost> <!-- or delete this line -->

And then you're good to go.

The menus and such take more work.
Dizzy Ioeuy 10 Jan, 2022 @ 4:50pm
Another problem is pathCost at 8, should be 0 if they're in the air.
Wiseman05 10 Jan, 2022 @ 7:21am
@ouroboros

Well since its all XML based and Im slowly growing somewhat understanding of XML (since I've been making my own patches for my own use) I can take a crack at it for you if you want! See about making an electrical version tied to electricity research, make them so pawns move underneath them, and organize them a bit more if you want. Won't cost you a thing!
Dizzy Ioeuy 9 Jan, 2022 @ 11:50pm
really wquick. This setting on all the lanterns:

<passability>PassThroughOnly</passability>

is likely not ideal. Sometimes you may want the pawn to stand exactly "under" or where the lantern is.
Ouroboros  [author] 9 Jan, 2022 @ 11:47pm
It bothers me to no end I can't directly quote someone in this comment section so they get a notification I have replied :P Wiseman05 - I will try to see if I can afford this when I get my next month's salary. I do not make these mods myself, I'm merely paying to commission mods I want for myself. The reason I upload them to the workshop, is because I want to share them with the community as a thanks for all the people making all these awesome mods and sharing theirs.

In the future I might commission fewer mods but try to go "all out" on them. So I don't end up with many "half-done" mods. I've read your reply and I'll see what I can get done.
Wiseman05 8 Jan, 2022 @ 6:01pm
I'm digging this mod. Simple, but pretty looking. Plus, I prefer to build cities and villages myself, so any extra decorations to personalize my base I'm all for.

My only feedback really is the same as a few others mentioned below: Making the menu selection better (such as a drop-down menu to choose which colors to use). Possible electrical variants, and if its possible to have them layered so when a pawn moves underneath them it shows up on top of them instead of layered beneath them.

Other than that, I'm going to be using this one for my decoration needs!
