Roger, no problem.

Would this be simple enough to implement in Lua on my end with a local copy of the file? I'm happy tinkering with RPFM.

Nah, I don't really support older wh games anymore. My modding time isn't what it used to be.

Hey IfThenOrElse - did you ever get round to back-porting a ruin fix to the WH2 version of Bordergore?

Yup.
tankdasso 21 Aug, 2022 @ 12:50pm
is border gore compatible with trade region and loreful diplomacy?

Has it been updated? :3
We want the best WH2 experience available and this helps !

FYI for those of us still on Warhammer 2: I think ruined settlements in ritual-completed bloodgrounds aren't prevented from being colonized via this mod, so if you're playing as Beastmen your finished bloodgrounds will be a bit "leaky". (I know there are other mechanisms by which e.g. Empire can also reclaim bloodgrounds regions, I'm seeing this for factions that I don't believe have any such mechanic like Dwarfs).

Ruined regions should belong to nobody or Skaven so uh what's going on dudes
Zooasaurus 1 Mar, 2022 @ 7:19am
Does this still work? because somehow i got factions owning nonsensical/weird regions that exarcebates bordergore

Really nice way of solving an AI issue.

-the fact that ruined regions gets repopulated even lends to the realism.

Kudos

This should avoid to give razzed province, unplayable with Chaos.
Picasso Sparks 18 Jan, 2022 @ 9:12am
This is a clever idea.
PirrotMax 15 Jan, 2022 @ 11:45am
AI can trade region that is not owned by anyone (ruined). :lunar2019deadpanpig:
As Grimgor i raze Barak Var's settlement and at their turn AI trades his settlement back.
Sergej 14 Jan, 2022 @ 11:08am
Does the faction it trades with have to be only non hostile, or are there more conditions like it being neutral or friendly. If not could there be an option for it as a hated faction would not yield territory.
I know the intent of the mod is to stomp the "border gore". But it just smashed me in the gut when Grimgor of all things gave a settlement to Barak Warr. Yeah no...

Th u for answer, testing and such mod itself.
Maybe this information should be added to mod description to prevent this question asked again in future.
IfThenOrElse  [author] 14 Jan, 2022 @ 7:15am
-having asked around, the random figure I generate is managed by the game to avoid desycs. So it should be fine for MP too.
IfThenOrElse  [author] 14 Jan, 2022 @ 7:10am
It's script based, I do not foresee any issues with existing saves. In fact I tested this on an existing save. Multiplayer might be a problem. Because this uses random generation, I expect it could cause desyncs.
PirrotMax 14 Jan, 2022 @ 2:36am
Existing save and multiplayer compatibility not tested?
IfThenOrElse  [author] 14 Jan, 2022 @ 1:46am
Yes. It's logic is not dependant on faction names or pre-setup regions.
Zooasaurus 13 Jan, 2022 @ 7:47am
Is this cpmpatible with mods adding/overhauling new factions?
viranto 12 Jan, 2022 @ 9:33am
This is wat Paradox need. In Total War i always can play with the border gore, because the maps are a lot smaller. But im still happy for this mod and will test it. I hope the player will not be to strong with this mod, if the ai lose there provinces to often.
Gleen Cross 12 Jan, 2022 @ 1:26am
The way the AI is designed in this game is just nonsensical, even if you set their behavior to -999 related to them taking cities in "unpleasant" weather, you still see (rarely, but it happens) Bretonnia invading Norsca for whatever reason. So the "solution" is to deny them from taking this territory creating scripts such as these. That's why I'm hoping for Warhammer 3 to offer a terraforming solution (the vampire corruption, but evolved), considering how Kislev makes it freeze whatever they go, if the AI go bunkers and Kislev start to conquer the desert, at least they will make it snow there

Oh, fabulous work! I was looking to complete a final Empire campaign before W3 arrives, and this may just complete my set up. :) Thanks mate!
IfThenOrElse  [author] 10 Jan, 2022 @ 2:10am
@Snek - Yes. It reduces the fronts they have with potential allies, and makes it easier for a single army to defend. In the past I used more hacky methods to get vassals/allies complete provinces and they ALWAYS outshine the factions with bordergore.
Dean Winchester 9 Jan, 2022 @ 1:37pm
Amazing. The border gore is really out of control in game 2.
Snek 9 Jan, 2022 @ 12:28pm
Does the AI seem to do a better job protecting a border when it's a complete province?
