just wanna say that i loved using this mod in b41 and i'd love to see it updated for b42 sometime- no pressure though <3

@CrashMaster please make this mod compatible with version 42
Manni Gerro 26 Jan @ 9:16am
i dont know why, but it doesnt work for me in my existing save game. i made a new sandbox game with the disable boxes checked, and then copied the map_sand file into my old save and activated the mod there. but when i repair weapons, the chance drops next time i try to do it

I'm waiting for this gem to be available for version 42

It actually works with Maintenance improves Repair, holy moley.

Can confirm the incompatibility with 'Better Sorting' mod.
To fix:
in CustomRepairSettings_FixAction.lua in this mod change "VehicleMaintenance" to "Mech" or add it as 'OR' statement.

vehicle parts repair count stays unchanged but the repair values seem to still decrease everytime.
Ryntra7 2 Apr, 2023 @ 3:39pm
It still works. If anyone is having problems with it try disabling repair penalties for all items, because that is what made it work for me.
Gwynbleidd 1 Feb, 2023 @ 11:36pm
could you make this compatible with better sorting mod? it lists car parts as "mechanics" instead of "vehicle maintenance" and that breaks the mod

Settings do not apply properly, when closing the server and looking at the settings the boxes are unchecked. Check the Boxes --> Save --> Start Server --> Notice that it doesn't work --> Close Server --> Check Settings --> See unchecked Boxes.
Lu5ck 14 Aug, 2022 @ 7:15am
still work for 41.73?
Sir.MuffinCakes 17 Jul, 2022 @ 7:50pm
Doesn't appear to be saving settings correctly, the character tab options for this always seem to revert to original settings.
Vilespring 20 Jun, 2022 @ 7:45am
Mods that change item category for improved sorting cause vehicle-only settings to fail.

Mod I'm using is this: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2313387159
Yamaken 15 May, 2022 @ 3:36pm
where can I find the settings in existing multiplayer game and existing characters?
Maxwell218 5 Apr, 2022 @ 12:34pm
@Sereina you can save your sandbox settings as a preset
Crowflake 1 Mar, 2022 @ 10:24am
Would it possible to get this mod's options enabled by default instead of having to change them every time I start a new game? Thank you in advance!
Crowflake 1 Mar, 2022 @ 9:59am
Very nice mod. Found it silly that I can only repair a gun or baseball bat twice before repairs become worthless.
ghost 22 Feb, 2022 @ 8:59am
so ive added mods that also allow like the heater and glovebox to be repaired would this still be compatible since it is vehicle maintenance?
satyr7 3 Feb, 2022 @ 7:45am
@Necrosx Thanks mate, that is exactly what I needed to understand. Cheers!!!
Necrosx 2 Feb, 2022 @ 11:23am
@satyr the difference is normal: repair 30% when your vehicle is at 50% results in the new value being 65%. Modded version repair 30% when your vehicle is at 50% results in the new value being 80%. Hope that clears things up?
satyr7 2 Feb, 2022 @ 9:49am
@CrashMaster I'm having a hard time understanding "Potential Repair" option...
What is the difference between the two? Not trying to be a bother but a simple example might clear everything up...? Thank you for the awesome mod! I will do some testing this weekend and post an example when I can. :steamhappy:
SorenBC 2 Feb, 2022 @ 5:05am
Ah ok, are there any mod or way to make it work with modded vehicles?
CrashMaster  [author] 1 Feb, 2022 @ 10:23pm
@Maxwell218, yes, it should work with any item from "Vehicle Maintenance" category. All vanilla vehicle parts are in this category (incl those that cannot be dismantled or repaired).

@SorenBC, yes, it works for every vanilla trunk.
SorenBC 1 Feb, 2022 @ 6:31am
Hello, does it work when repairing the trunk of a vehicle?
Maxwell218 25 Jan, 2022 @ 4:16pm
I set the first option to true (ticked), but maybe its the other way around? Thanks for the feedback I'll try and check the settings again
Necrosx 25 Jan, 2022 @ 11:19am
@Maxwell218 I havnt noticed anything that has kept its repair counter after being repaired on my dedicated server. Double check your settings are correct, and the mod is indeed enabled? Seems to be the most common issue for most people, and I've sure made that mistake a couple times when testing.
Maxwell218 25 Jan, 2022 @ 8:08am
Does it work with all vehicle parts? Seems my seats still have a repair counter and the repairs are less meaningful. I am hosting a dedicated server if that helps.
Necrosx 22 Jan, 2022 @ 1:40am
And after some more testing, I found the culprit. Turns out there was a stealth update, and it was another mod that was causing the issue when one of their items was updated and was moved to a different equipment point.

Sorry for the false error report, things are working great.
Necrosx 22 Jan, 2022 @ 1:25am
I didnt figure it should affect it, but it was the only mod that was added during that time (nothing else updated either).
Did a quick test and no, the image did not come back after disabling the mod. However, unequipping all my items caused the player image to reappear. Uninstalling (some) parts did not cause the vehicle image to reappear (though admittedly it's only the one vehicle so far, and it's not a big deal, all our other vehicles still have their images.) After reenabling the mod the player image is visible again.
Beginning to think that maybe something stealth updated that I just didnt notice...
CrashMaster  [author] 22 Jan, 2022 @ 12:48am
@Necrosx, thanks for the report. I didn't have this issue when i added it to my dedicated server right after publishing it. This mod only changes the repair action and should not affect the interface. Does the character/vehicle image appear after disabling the mod?
SorenBC 22 Jan, 2022 @ 12:23am
@CrashMaster
You were correct, I hadn't activated it correctly. Sorry about that.
SorenBC 22 Jan, 2022 @ 12:02am
Ok, I am pretty sure I did, I will try again, thanks
CrashMaster  [author] 21 Jan, 2022 @ 11:54pm
@SorenBC, compatible, tested it. Make sure you enabled both mods in your save details (not in main menu mods). Also you need to reload your save after you change repair settings (same goes for most vanilla settings).
Necrosx 21 Jan, 2022 @ 4:50pm
After some testing with friends, it seems that this issue is only affecting me, and one specific vehicle of ours (which is added by another mod). If it magically fixes itself, or if I notice it on another modded vehicle I will report it here again.
Necrosx 21 Jan, 2022 @ 12:02pm
The mod is wonderful, but seems to have some sort of hiccup with an ongoing dedicated server where after being added you cannot see your character in the info tab, nor can you see the image of vehicles you're working on in the vehicle maintenance tab. Works just fine on a new game though.

@SorenBC I can find the settings just fine with that mod. Double check that this mod is indeed active on the save you're using.
SorenBC 21 Jan, 2022 @ 6:34am
Hi, is this mod compatible with https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2670674997 ?
I can't find the setting in the character tab...
CrashMaster  [author] 16 Jan, 2022 @ 11:33pm
@Pers0na, read mod description.
You can create a new game with all mods you want and customize sandbox settigns (vanilla and mods). Then replace map_sand.bin in your old save with the new one from new save folder. I recommend you to make a backup of your save before replacing. Then add this mod to your old save and it should work.
Pers0na 16 Jan, 2022 @ 10:45am
For new saves we have to check mark the disable repair counters in order to have no repair penalties correct? Does this mean if we add to existing saves the mod won't work since by default both options are disabled and we can't edit sandbox mode?
