I’m gonna take a look, b42 is still pretty unstable at the moment but I’m hoping there’s more tools I can use to make this mod less buggy

Been using this mod since it literally came out and i have never had any issues. Wouldnt play without this awesome mod.

I'd like to add to the other reports of instant-death. I've had two characters insta-killed while this mod was active. Single torso hit from the front, no existing injuries, HP went from 100 to 0 in one frame (so it's not like a neck laceration that simply drained it fast)

ive tried this and somehow it seems to lead to instant deaths in situations you woudnlt normally be, like a scratch from the front. your fine until your bubble number of hits goes off then you might just fall over dead =*(

Bug Report: I am playing SP sandbox. I have my settings to where I have 3 injuries before I will become infected. I lasted 6 days with one laceration from a tree before being bit once in Louisville. I bandaged it, disinfected it, and it was uninfected and healing on day 8. I was cleaning up the neighborhood and a zombie walked straight through my axe swing and bit my hand through my gloves.

While it was already unfortunate that it walked through my attack, I was at very good health and *I instantly died.* After some research, it seems there can become an issue with zombification where if the infection is edited, it can believe you cheated zombification and a bite causes you to instantly turn. I believe this may be what has happened.

Is there anything that can be done to fix this? I'm playing in 41. I'm using my backup but I just lost 2 hours of progress which really sucks.

RE:MP- TBH I think it is fine not worrying about differentiating player attacks from zed attacks. if you do that, you will also have to differentiate between players who are infected, and those who are not - and if you are heaving issues trying to separate zed attacks from player attacks, then doing the same for infected players might be impossible.

Consider it running the risk of a PVP server - I would seriously doubt all that zed blood on a player's weapon isn't carrying the Knox virus anyway...

Thanks for the heads up, apparently EasyConfig had an update that changed how text was loaded, should be fixed now.

As for those asking about MP compatibility, I still haven't found a good solution for detecting attacks without my code confusing a player attack with a zombie attack. Even if I excluded PvP altogether, I'm still hoping to find a prettier method for zombie attack detection.

I'm not seeing full option descriptions in the options menu for this mod. Instead I see things like "UI_Config_considerScratches". https://i.imgur.com/6K7x5Tl.png

This happens with only this mod and EasyConfig Chucked enabled.

I love this mod. Not only is is awesome for me as a new player still getting used to the game, but in the long run I expect this will provide more playability value to the game. Before I bought the game, I had watched a lot of tutorials ans lets play series - and what I see as a constant theme is that "once bitten, game over"

People are consistently offing themselves, or just quitting a play-through outright, coz as default a bite is 100% infection. With this mod, I have infection chance set to 0% for scratches and lacerations before the threshold, and 25% for bites. After the threshold this goes up to 25%, 50% and 75% respectively.

With a non 100% chance of infection, I find I am much more willing to continue playing a character after bitten, just in case they luck out. Before I had the mod installed, I fell into the same trap as all those content creators, and just deleting and starting over.

Does this mod allow bites to cause 90% or 95% infection rates, instead of the default 100%? I'm looking for one in particular that allows us to change the percent rate of being infected from a single bite.

This is genuinely one of my favourite mods, not only for the threshold itself but the versatility of being able to change the % of infections as a whole. im surprised noone did this before you but i am forever thankful. truly a must have for any playthough in my opinion

So my settings is set at 5 bites and then infection goes from 0-90% (scratches and lacerations don't infect) does that actually mean that I'm only at risk of infection if I have 5 bites at the same time?

Think of it as like a "bubble shield" that can take a few hits, but needs time to regenerate.

So the mod only considers sustained injuries, meaning injuries that haven't healed completely. Once the injury is gone, whether the bleeding stopped, the scratch healed, etc. they no longer count towards the threshold.

No. I meant as in how many scratches, bites or laceration before the threshold is met, the health window is only showing whether you currently have a bite/scratch/laceration.

Should work fine, the code will only do the checks when and if you get injured. But if you're already infected, you're gonna have to rely on other mods that cure or fights it.

v1.1 has been released, check the notes tab for a list of changes. EasyConfig has been separated from this mod and is now required to be subscribed separately.

Confirming I had the same issue as Limes, removing this resolved it. Really like this mod though, hoping it's an easy fix.

Because the mod was also released on nexusmods, where EasyConfig isn't found so I wasn't able to create a dependency for it. I will look into changing that for the steam workshop version, however.

so, why embed EasyConfig instead of using the dependency as framework
especially if such embeds create collision between mods ?
after all that was point of EasyConfig and ModOptions and other APIs/Tools ...

For some reason, your mod causes the "Mod Options" mod to have a bug where you can't scroll in the options menu. Either that, or it just happened to have that effect on my PC.

Hi! My friends and I are trying to setup your wonderful mod to our server, but can't seem to find how. It makes me install the mod when I first log, but i don't see it in the game option :(

I use nitrado to run my server, but i have access to pretty much all files so let me know if one could help to find the problem :)

Tested the mods you posted and it seems like it works fine alongside with this one, I don't believe there should be any conflicting mechanics since this mod only removes/applies infection with specific parameters and nothing more.
It's possible that one of your other mods have the EasyConfig mod embedded as well, which might cause settings conflicts. It would make sense that if the settings tab doesn't show up, the mod won't work since it relies on those configurations.

Okay so after further testing it seems that when the tab doesn't appear the mod doesn't function either. Something curious though, while the tab doesn't appear when playing, it still appears in main menu. Still not sure what it conflicts with though, not being a modder I have no quick way of testing these things. Mods that deal with the health tab/infection that come to mind if you want to test yourself: Algol Syringes, Antibodies, Danger Zone Scent of Blood, The Only Cure, multiple Danger Moodle ones. Don't do it for my sake though, I'll manage. :)
