I'm attempting to build the black mesa crossbow for VR. I've managed to model it and get it to appear in game but it's completely broken. Total blender/lua noob here. The vr mod discord has been shut down and I haven't heard from hugo or xandy in a long time. Would love to pick your brain about this stuff if you're interested, I'd really like to get the whole black mesa arsenal working in VR! Add me on steam lets chat!

VR Half Life guns? Nice, been using a mixture of CS, HL2 and Black Mesa weapons until now. Hype.

PS: If after making the HL1 guns you still feel like making more VR guns, I would personally greatly enjoy the Quake guns in VR. I know you don't reload in Quake, but the models can be edited and parts of it can be interpreted as the magazine/ammunition and cocking mechanism.

I am still working on it yes. As I've replied to your Youtube comment, I have quite a few projects on the table involving the Source Engine (One is a map pack for Black Mesa, another is a quality of life gamemode in GMod for those who want to play all of HL2, Ep1 and Ep2 in VR [that is very close to being released], and then I have this project which I'm still very much actively engaged. I hope that clears things up.

yeah, most of the weapons are HL:Source ammo. still don't know what is happening with the shotgun in my game though though. i've tested it on both singleplayer and multiplayer and i'm still confused why it's the only weapon that refuses to use the correct ammo

what kind of ammo does this take? no matter what ammo i try to give myself i just hear the buzzer when trying to grab it from my hips.

so, after playing with this weapon pack for a while, i came across a couple issues.

the 1st one: the shotgun seems to use a different ammo type than the hl1 weapons..? i can't really be certain but it seems that when i had tested, i was able to get ammo for the base hl1 shotgun, and it appears that it might share ammo with the hl2 shotgun. the black mesa shotgun however did not use the ammo from the same source.

the other issue: i can't seem to use the grenade launcher on the MP5. to be fair, i'm not even certain it has the function in the 1st place, but it would be nice if i could use it. if the thing i've been using the whole time is just the safety for the gun, do you think you could switch it to function as the grenade launcher instead? if the pistol or shotgun doesn't have a safety, not much reason for the MP5 to have a safety switch either, ya know?

Oh, those HD HL1 themed models are really good looking. I can't say I will get to it soon, but after I finish HL1 Classic VR models I may consider taking on another project.

Extremely excited for your HL1 weapon pack!! If you're looking for another project at all afterwards, Juniez' Classic Weapon pack is just dyin for a port to VR. as much as i like to help people Pyro, you can search for it just as easily as i can. there are several non-vr versions that came long before this. it shouldn't be that hard to find a specific one that's to your liking

Currently, every weapon from Half-Life has been fully modeled and rigged for ArcVR. Now all I have to do is get it working in the code. I don't typically posts updates for it, but I do have a short video that displays just the Glock's functionality:

does this automatically replace Half-Life 1 weapons used in the HL1 campaign addon if you're in vr? the weapons in that SWEP don't work very well in vr at all so having an option to replace them while also having hd weapons would be fantastic

thanks for fixing! probably wouldve never gotten around to it lol, i hear vrmod isnt being supported anymore. the vrmod discord server got deleted a few days ago which kinda ended my motivation to work on it at all. glad you credited me tho :)

Hey, sorry if this isnt the right place, but how did you find the files for this vr weapons pack? im looking to make my own and want to use this as an example, even if arcvr is discontinued.
