That view caused by custom cam, so when the train is reversed you have to change the camera using change camera button. You can move the camera with W, A, S, D, Q, E button.
Also, while putting them behind the vanilla jets, I couldn't get to the front view and it generally looks like the camera always goes for car 1 even though my train was a push-pull driving "backwards", so my default perspective was looking at the coupler to the rear EP5. I guess it's intentional that the seat perspective override the vanilla look out the front, though if you're bored enough, I personally would appreciate the possibility of disabling these perspectives...
