@Plexus they also get to tax workers at those cooperatives at an increased rate due to higher wages among workers individually themselves.

It is still a work in progress.

Hey Plexus! Unfortunately I will no longer be able to edit this mod. I am not sure what is wrong with my computer, but I can no longer edit or create mods. I do not know how to fix this...
Plexus 24 Jun, 2022 @ 3:36pm
I really like the spirit of this mod, although I still find it overpowered. I think motivating cooperatives would increase the GDP, but not necessarily make money. The government wouldn't make income off of a worker-owned cooperative, they would only make money from the taxes that cooperative pays (reflected through a higher GDP)

I'd also like to amend the cooperative transport policy, since creating new bus companies has every chance of oversaturating public transport. What cooperatives could really change is decentralised transit. I'd like to propose the policy be turned into:

the Decentralised Transit Cooperative Board
A nationwide set of government boards which aim to begin transit cooperatives offering local delivery and private cab services. The board would encourage the use of e-bikes and cargo bikes for delivery and electric vehicles for cabs allowing green decentralised transit from people living in the areas being served.

Pretty neat mod. All I'd change is purely cosmetic stuff like spruced up descriptions and maybe not naming everything as a 'fund'. They would be functioning more like government grants.

c_vld_c Hey there,
I adjusted some of the impacts; I agree that it is a bit overpowered. Regarding the other portion of your comment: I want to do something like that, but I do not have the time. That would be a mod that I would do after this semester. I am graduating so I am very focused on school right now. I really appreciate the recommendation.
c_vld_c 8 Mar, 2022 @ 1:00pm
An ideea: a Co-op percentage stat (simulation value), that tells you the percentage of Co-op businesses in your country. You could have that influence things like GDP, working week and equality, instead of the policies doing that directly? As they are right now, the policies feel a little too strong. You could then use that value to trigger a perk, like "Cooperative country" or something, when it goes above 80% and have that grant a large large happiness or income boost to everyone. Just an idea.

@jaers454 Good luck with your studies man
jaers454  [author] 4 Mar, 2022 @ 6:33pm
Hi @c_vld_c I am really happy you enjoy this! I will be honest, I have no idea how to do that. I can try to figure it out, but I am in the middle of a semester so I am pretty swamped.

Really love the mod, but any chance you can make the icons white when playing in dark mode?
Barracuda 17 Feb, 2022 @ 8:24am
I love this mod! As a worker for a banking cooperative, it's great to see that represented.
Blessèd 10 Feb, 2022 @ 8:58pm
To add to what Padelboot said, it's be fair for it to spike up the liberal % as well
jaers454  [author] 10 Feb, 2022 @ 3:05pm
@Paddleboot , I totally forgot to add that effect. Sorry about that; I will update it now.
Padelboot 10 Feb, 2022 @ 8:11am
Love this one! Have been waiting for a mod for coops and this one has a nice range of policies for that.
Only one thing, that confuses me: How come that the cooperative policy under education does not increase socialism membership? After all it can be assumed that having education about coops and people learning about these ideas increases the likelihood of people agreeing, thus becoming socialists themselves.
Blessèd 28 Jan, 2022 @ 11:25pm
The term I was trying to think of was bottom-up which would be the co-op system instead of the top-down of a cybersyn system.
Blessèd 28 Jan, 2022 @ 11:21pm
Alright, Idea, Cybersyn? I don't know if it fits the theme of a Cooperative Commonwealth where it's neither nationalized nor privatize and same thing with the market. But it's still a leftist idea, and I think it'd be cool to see some stuff about it.
Wiedergänger 26 Jan, 2022 @ 11:33am
I love the idea of the mod! It gives more depth to political ideas which is much needed in the game. Especially on the socialist political spectrum. Thx so much for making this and wish you the best in developping it further!
jaers454  [author] 25 Jan, 2022 @ 10:45am
Hey @DorritoBurrito ,I plan on adding a cooperative childcare/schooling policy. I will add a transportation, aviation, and perhaps another sort of foreign policy that will further export cooperative ideology.

I appreciate the feedback. I need to add a few more effects to some of the policies, like increasing the negative effect on foreign investment when implementing the banking and housing cooperatives.
DoritoBurrito 25 Jan, 2022 @ 1:11am
@jaers454 No worries! Thanks for just making what you've made already! I did have one thought. Maybe expand the types of co-ops to cover all the possible nationalizations (such as transportation and telecoms) and have the co-ops impact their industries the same way nationalization does. Kind of making it compare-able to nationalization, but just with cooperatives.
jaers454  [author] 24 Jan, 2022 @ 9:39pm
@DorritoBurrito , I was thinking about adding a policy that bans "private" industry.
I will work on the decentralization aspect; perhaps tying in the ban on private industry.

I want to add a few more policies but that will have to wait until I finish my class. There is a break next week so I plan on doing a bit of modding then.
Blessèd 24 Jan, 2022 @ 7:32pm
@DoritoBurrito and I both agree with the banning of private industry.
DoritoBurrito 24 Jan, 2022 @ 6:59pm
Oh I had an idea. Maybe a more extreme Cooperative Commonwealth policy? Like a law that abolishes private property and mandates all businesses be run democratically? Also seconding @Kitts suggestion of Democratic Education.

The only other one that is unrelated but would be nice, is decentralization. Abilities to federalize or confederalize.
Blessèd 23 Jan, 2022 @ 7:39pm
I'd think adding a transport co-op might be pretty cool and maybe public services if that is realistic. And also, this wouldn't be a co-op, just a cool idea, but I've read about democratic education which I think being able to choose traditional state schools or democratic schools would be a neat thing to add (wiki link here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_education )
jaers454  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 7:07pm
@JukeboxTheGhoul I might be able to help out. I am in the middle of school so I am busy, but message me and we will figure something out.
jaers454  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 6:46pm
@DoritoBurrito : I am glad you enjoy this! This is what my ideal society would be based around, so building it in-game makes it fun.
JukeboxTheGhoul  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 12:21pm
Hi there I'm actually making a mod like this! Its super cool, do you want to collaborate?
DoritoBurrito 23 Jan, 2022 @ 11:26am
This is great! It's great to see a Socialist economic model that's not just "the state owns everything". Combine that with workers on the board, workers dividends, and a pro-union policy batch and you have honestly a pretty seriously awesome example of at least Market Socialism. Thanks so much for making this!
KARL 22 Jan, 2022 @ 9:34pm
@Jaers454 the only one i can think of is maybe a mining cooperative policy to reduce the late game clack of resources for tech or one other thing is that foreign policy you can reduce foreign relations with these polices since they aren't getting money from your country and you can add an event chance similar to assassination that they try to over throw your government and the only way to get it down is an increase of foreign relations and actively adding the global cooperative policy to reduce it but thats all i can think of now tho ill keep playing an commenting here
jaers454  [author] 22 Jan, 2022 @ 4:11pm
@Karl; I added a decrease in foreign investment in a couple major policies: the commonwealth act, cooperative banking, and manufacturing.
I want to add a few more policies, and maybe a dilemma or two, so if you have some policy ideas I am all ears.
KARL 21 Jan, 2022 @ 9:00pm
Im loving this mod tho i feel a bit op by the end my i suggest that you make it harder for international trade and foreign investment in your nation when your using some of these tho as a policy to counter balance that bad effect is to make people use International Cooperative Development Initiative and make a similar project for your own nation that may be called internal international cooperative fund as an attempted to regain foreign investment because you would lose foreign investment if you only have worker owned companies
Blessèd 21 Jan, 2022 @ 4:28pm
I honestly love that you can do this stuff with D4, wew!
