Played this with vanilla non-modded Solasta and brand-new party in multiplayer with one other Player over a period of weeks. PC's had some hard fights but prevailed all the way through to the end of the campaign.
Some GREAT surprises but forced us to use smart tactics to win. Most of the time you are forced to find your own way or figure it out using your own intuition but it works. Sometimes it pays to camp for a few days and get some crafting done.
The play does not make use of quest (NO
dont
i repeat DO NOT
make identicall enemies have randomly mixed up stats
saw the stupid sorrakth assasin encounter 3 of them have random stats most of wich are the dev going hAhE bIg NuMbEr=GoOd 1 has a +15 and 4d6 per attack the other who is identicall in every way has +9 and 1d6
the other has +6 and 1d4
this is retarded and noob difficulty increase by going "well should have just know wich one had the lowest stats"
A pro tip the remorhaz has an auto counter to melee and is resistant to all but necro so ranged attack such as bow or magic necro attack will hurt him most. Also you can cast an AOE such as spike growth if you have it. If you are truly stuck I can push an update with an exit back where you came in.
I am currently blocked though, and I feel like I'm missing something
I just beat the blood bone knight, and got the stone, but the only pathway left leads to an encounter with a remorhaz. I'm pretty sure my lvl 4 party can't make it, so I suppose there is a way to leave the zone, but I can't find it.
Am i missing something ?
Thanks for the help :)
As a counter example, Ode to Yendor has some similar features and battles that took a lot of creativity and every resource and trick in my book to survive, but they were not the meat grinder that this adventure serves up.
Other than that, the structure of the adventure has quite a good feel to it...lots of nice features.
Glad you are having fun!
I have been thoroughly enjoying your hard work, thanks. I especially liked some of the ground-level maps, and a few times got pleasantly surprised by tough battles. The spider queen and getting to her comes most to mind. That was some fun terrain to battle through.
A quick guide note: The first two big adventure zones of Haunted Vale and Whisperwood Hollow can be returned to. After you take the Northern Route in Stormshroud pass the rest of the map is linear.
