Fun and challenging. Thanks!
k8sparrot 11 Apr, 2023 @ 5:55pm
That was awesomely difficult but incredible rewarding! Had a couple of false starts because I didn't get the "hint" about the yellow triangles at first...thanks! Will try more from you Zek the Mad!
Zek the Mad  [author] 30 Jan, 2023 @ 2:27pm
The yellow triangles indicate which cells you need to complete to unlock the next part of the puzzle. Thanks for playing!
The-Cryptic 30 Jan, 2023 @ 2:05pm
okay its awesome and all but my only question is what the hell are the little trangles on some squares my mind is on that too much haha (didnt complete it)
LooseFlame1 2 Apr, 2022 @ 3:33pm
WTF man, you made me and my buddy actually think hard on this map.
zeo1337 1 Apr, 2022 @ 3:32pm
Solved it. For a while I had the thermometers backwards and worked out what the first six numbers had to be, but the door wouldn't open. My brain naturally assumes the circle is the large end.
Zek the Mad  [author] 21 Mar, 2022 @ 6:13pm
Thanks for checking! The setting website i use to make these (f-puzzles) does not have the german whispers constraint in it so i had to check those options manually and I worry that I missed some alternate solution somewhere
R-Gone 21 Mar, 2022 @ 4:16pm
nevermind, when i went back to find the alternate solution i found only one. i think i was fooled by a german whispers line. i have to say very well done on making the puzzle logic that minimal.
Zek the Mad  [author] 20 Mar, 2022 @ 4:49am
I would be very interested in knowing what the alternate solution is! I try very hard to make these have unique solutions
R-Gone 19 Mar, 2022 @ 11:54pm
love your puzzles, i do have a question though. are you aware that there are two solutions to this one once the puzzle fully opens up? otherwise i found this one to be very challenging, and the logic as you open it up is particularly interesting. great puzzle.
apesecs 3 Mar, 2022 @ 4:45am
Definitely the hardest room so far! Just for some context I never had played Sudoku in my life until now as my friend and I discovered this alongside the community picks and wanted to give it a try. We genuinely had a good time and play another map of yours here and there. I did not expect the green light indicator to be on the final door and just expected it here again. God the amount of times I definitely went through the correct box. Would play again, 10/10.
resoNathan 2 Mar, 2022 @ 9:59am
I hate this mission. This is the most infuriating thing I have ever played. 10/10. Would recommend.
Zek the Mad  [author] 23 Feb, 2022 @ 1:26pm
I have not seen other sudoku puzzles that unlock like this unfortunately, but maybe there are some out there. I mostly did it to introduce the variants in a way that could focus the player on the right place to start thinking about them, especially for people who had little to no experience with sudoku. Also, I didn't want to just have the whole grid out there because you might as well just have it in a browser player. I did not have any more specifically planned but making some in the future is not out of the question. Thanks for playing!
AKR 23 Feb, 2022 @ 2:10am
These puzzles are amazing. I love the way you unlock more and more of the sudoku, and i desperately want more of it. Are there other platforms that provide this "progressive" way of solving Sudoku´s? I´m only able to find more traditional full sudokus

wolfrat49 13 Feb, 2022 @ 7:40pm
This was amazing! thank you so much for this
Thoroniul 13 Feb, 2022 @ 6:51pm
@rosie, there are indicators on the door for each novemnet.
(heh quadrant is 4 for quadttuor is four in latin. Sudoku is 9 segments with novem being nine in latin)
Zek the Mad  [author] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 6:50pm
If everything is correct, the door at the end will have 9 green lights and will open
rosiered12201 13 Feb, 2022 @ 6:42pm
how do i know ive completesd the puzzle correctley
祝您好运 12 Feb, 2022 @ 2:23am
Look forward to your next map! I really like it!!!!!!
Zek the Mad  [author] 11 Feb, 2022 @ 8:55pm
@Entrian I do use f-puzzles.com to help me construct them. Mainly I figure out what theme i want and what order I want the boxes to be revealed and start there. I then try to build a logic path from that point and work my way around the grid. I try to start with a simpler logic trick for each of the variants in the first box to introduce them. Since I am building the logic path, I can mark the cells that are deducable and have them unlock the next area. The last 2 or 3 boxes are just adding some constraints to make the puzzle unique
Thoroniul 11 Feb, 2022 @ 7:57pm
I think zek uses f-puzzles.com
Thoroniul 11 Feb, 2022 @ 7:54pm
@Entrian There are various tactics one can use.

One method is outward in. Where one is takes a randomly generated Sudoku puzzle (or one you made by hand) and try to pattern match by hand where the additional rules go. Then you remove all the numbers and measure what is the bare minimum one needs to know to proceed to the next sections.

Another is inward out, where one just deferentially makes up a puzzle as they go along and are keen to not break any assertions along the way.

Puzzle making definitely is an interesting craft, and sometimes machine generated puzzles just can't compare to some clever rules people come up with. Sometimes just messing around with it and testing it thoroughly is a good way to go.

It turns out to be a really interesting and non-trivial problem to create good Sudoku puzzles.

Entrian 11 Feb, 2022 @ 7:25pm
How do you generate these?

It seems a bit more difficult than just generating a sudoku puzzle as you have to ensure it is sufficiently solvable as the clues are unfolding.
Natalie 10 Feb, 2022 @ 5:35pm
you make great sudoku maps! looking forward to the next one!! (if there is one, i'm hoping so) :steamhappy:
Stonerzs 7 Feb, 2022 @ 12:16pm
good!
lemonpepsiking 29 Jan, 2022 @ 9:32pm
9/9
Peekabluu 29 Jan, 2022 @ 9:32pm
Another great puzzle
Zek the Mad  [author] 27 Jan, 2022 @ 2:52am
Glad you liked it! You cannot let people change elevation in the editor currently, so to do what you suggested I would have to move the entire level around the player, which would be possible but not easy and not really great in multiplayer
TERMINATHA 27 Jan, 2022 @ 12:27am
very fun map, but the end is very unsatisfying because you cant walk upstairs to the door
otherwise very fun tho, was fun.
9/10 was fun
Damien 26 Jan, 2022 @ 7:42am
honestly the most fun i have doing sudokus in a long time
megaproxy 25 Jan, 2022 @ 3:18pm
Another fantastic Sudoku map! Loved it, had to start over as we made a mistake.. Got there in the end though!
Cant wait for the next one ;)
Khaddy42 24 Jan, 2022 @ 4:04pm
I love variant Sudokus and this was a BLAST! Solved it in coop, sooo much fun :) Thank you so much for creating this!
cado82 24 Jan, 2022 @ 1:32pm
Thanks for answering my question and for this awesome map. Really enjoying it so far.
Zek the Mad  [author] 24 Jan, 2022 @ 2:50am
the green light was moved to the final door in this one!
ReaRea 24 Jan, 2022 @ 2:02am
Does the green light appear when a box is solved?? Maybe I'm trippin.. or wrong :P
Techno 24 Jan, 2022 @ 12:20am
Another great Sudoku map, keep em coming!
Nick 23 Jan, 2022 @ 7:09pm
Love your maps! I've just finished this one with my bf (yes, the one that commented previously). Please keep making these. They are so fun!
Zek the Mad  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 6:21pm
The sudoku rules apply to the whole grid, all 9 3x3 boxes, so each row and column and box each have the digits from 1 to 9, once each. So the scenario you described would not be valid. Since you cannot see the whole grid from the start you have to work with the rows and columns that you can see at the time. You will not be able to fill in all of each box necessarily the first time you unlock it! Thanks for playing!
kukelia 23 Jan, 2022 @ 6:08pm
great sudoku room as always!
cado82 23 Jan, 2022 @ 5:50pm
Something that is confusing me. Do the sudoku rules only apply to the individual 3x3 grids or do they also apply to other connected 3x3 grids? For example, if I put a 3 in row 1 column 1 of the first 3x3 grid (with the yellow tiles), can I also put a 3 in row 1 column 1 of the second 3x3 grid (the one with the blue tiles) or is that not allowed because there would be two 3s in the column?
CatLife 23 Jan, 2022 @ 5:36pm
INCREDIBLE MAP!!! Sooo well made! Awesome work as always man!
Zek the Mad  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 4:50pm
Glad you enjoy them!
Slaziel 23 Jan, 2022 @ 2:34pm
Your sudoku maps are my religion, man. Me and my girlfriend love to solve them!
Zek the Mad  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 9:34am
Check the guide if you want to see the logic path I intended for that section! Also, feel free to ping me on the official discord if you have any other questions
The Man Who Sold The World 23 Jan, 2022 @ 9:28am
I don't think the assumptions you need to solve the Pink section are all there when I went to fill in the 7/8 as the last numbers I didn't have (or could not see) any information in order to deduce which went in which space . I very much enjoyed the difficulty however.
Zek the Mad  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 5:59am
I have changed the color of the torch like I did the wheel so hopefully it is more obvious. Thanks for playing!
ladylolli 23 Jan, 2022 @ 12:28am
Amazing map, love your work!
