please update the mod for refueling with coal
Ael Dierne 20 Jul, 2024 @ 7:00am
yes I solved the problem using the Heavy Steam Crawler mod
by Novu. It's a shame I wanted to continue using horse-drawn vehicles for another ten years but oh well!

Maybe one day the problem will be resolved without going through another mod!

thanks again

Some vehicle mods have broken bounding boxes on open hull trucks, so nothing I can do about that other than suggest you use mods by other creators.
Ael Dierne 20 Jul, 2024 @ 5:40am
the mod is a good idea but.. i'can't load the disassembled version on any open hull trucks in start in 1900... maybe somebody have solution?

If you want more, and more realistic trackbuilders I just released a mod with new Early Start Soviet and Western Track Builders: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3143683830&searchtext=
An'Mar 17 Jan, 2024 @ 7:38am
na thats not what i meant, the mod works fine and there is no issue with the packaged track builders (the ruble and dollar one)

The issue is if vou order a trackbuilder as an unpackaged one there are shown two identical Peckett 0-4-0

There is a screenshot of it, i hope it helps

I updated the mod recently to make a separate version that could be bought for roubles and dollars, previously the crate for roubles actually created a train that would cost dollars, and I wanted to fix it. If you sort by disassembled it should show the packed version.
An'Mar 17 Jan, 2024 @ 4:10am
For some weired reason if i open the purchase window the Peckett Track builder is listed twice as non packed version.

So the wohle nato borterhas therefor Two times unpacked and one packed version of this.
(I only use this mod with the Peckett 0-4-0 model at all, so wheres the second listing coming from ?)

There is no way to transport the train in the 1900 start. We need a transportation vehicle.
Rikenbacker 16 Sep, 2023 @ 1:30pm
Need update for gabage. This trackbuilder can't demilish tracks.
Monotone  [author] 14 Jan, 2023 @ 6:09am
Very weird, I don't know why that would be. Hope it doesn't cause any problems, I just know that I'd rather it be available from both borders, otherwise you'd have to connect to the NATO customs house just to build tracks.
Pfirsich1966 14 Jan, 2023 @ 12:38am
First of all, thank you. For a start at 1900 essential!!!
Unfortunately, the purchase at the soviet border is also charged dollars.
Monotone  [author] 4 Jan, 2023 @ 1:41pm
If you're playing realistic mode you must buy the disassembled version and transport it to the rail construction office.
Oldhip 4 Jan, 2023 @ 1:22am
cant even buy it .....
Monotone  [author] 24 Oct, 2022 @ 12:10pm
Well I imagined that disassembled means the locomotive would come in many smaller pieces that could individually be carried by one truck. In game it's shown as a crate that only needs one trip, that was the best way I could think of doing it.
dbatyuk 24 Oct, 2022 @ 11:43am
Novu created mod with very big and very slow steam engine https://150case.com/ especially for delivering 20+ tons track builders
Monotone  [author] 24 Oct, 2022 @ 10:00am
I've added a disassembled version to the mod. You can buy it for rubles or dollars, and it's light and small enough to be transportable by pretty much all open hull trucks.
Monotone  [author] 22 Sep, 2022 @ 2:05am
I've been away so I haven't kept up with any of the new game update features, thanks for doing that, I may integrate it if I find the time. I would be surprised if anybody actually tried to deliver a 23T steam locomotive by road at any point.
Stele 18 Sep, 2022 @ 8:46am
Disassembled version for realistic mode start. Feel free to integrate. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2864671893
Stele 18 Sep, 2022 @ 6:33am
Only hevicles that can carry it in my collection are V3S from '53 and T813 form '74. There might be some early US heavy duty trucks on the workshop.
But it doesn't work. It shows at customs as disassembled but tracks listed as viable for transport won't pick it up. Maybe it need some additional tags to be accepted as cargo with destination of RCO, but I can;t see anything like it in eiter vanilla building or vehicles.
Stele 17 Sep, 2022 @ 8:53pm
Loco alone weights 23T. Are there any early trucks that could haul it? I have some idea how disassembled vehicles might work, so I'm gonna make some test tomorrow and will write instruction in it works.
KarolOfGutovo 17 Sep, 2022 @ 12:25am
Can you make this availble in a disassembled state for starting railroads in cosmonaut mode?
Duke Flapjack 19 May, 2022 @ 7:10pm
It's especially painful for those of us who prefer rail. I'm *still* trying to build a proper eastern European rail system where the central logistics are handled by rail and local distribution is road. It's not easy.
Monotone  [author] 19 May, 2022 @ 6:40am
I agree, building railroads is painfully slow. But I didn't make this build faster for balance reasons, otherwise you'd be using an old steam track builder up into the diesel age. I think track building needs a lot of improvement for cosmonaut mode.
ekesandras2000 19 May, 2022 @ 6:07am
In the real world railroads existed decades before motorized street vehicles appeared, the early Soviet Union relied almost completely on railroads, but in this game it is virtually impossible to build a working railroad logistic before 1950. There is simply no equipment available, no locomotives - even with mods there are very few, and even a lack of cargo wagons and your only early track builder is extremely slow. It takes decades to build a working rail system.
The whole game has a fetish for cars and truck, although in real existing socialism this was never the case. I think the modding community really should do something about that.
Duke Flapjack 16 Apr, 2022 @ 7:52pm
No problem. I discovered that during me messing around with my own track builder and figured I pass the message on.
Monotone  [author] 16 Apr, 2022 @ 10:30am
Yep, that was it! It's now fixed, and the track builder works perfectly
Monotone  [author] 16 Apr, 2022 @ 10:13am
@Duke Flapjack You're a genius, I had never considered that construction skill would relate to capacity, I assumed that it would relate to speed. In fact, it's currently set to 2.5 which is exactly the weight of materials that it seemed to be capped at. This might just be the fix!
Duke Flapjack 15 Apr, 2022 @ 6:40pm
Just FYI the amount of track building materials seems to be affected by the number to the left of the number of workers. I originally thought that number meant the "skill" of the track builder, but I suspect now that it means the amount of materials the train can carry. Unfortunately that does mean that there is no good reason to upgrade your track builders, really.
Monotone  [author] 17 Mar, 2022 @ 8:47am
Thanks for your testing. It's not working as intended, and there is very little documentation on how to fix such issues. I'll try a few things out.
Хапуга 16 Mar, 2022 @ 1:25pm
Good luck to you! And I'm looking forward to a solution!
Хапуга 16 Mar, 2022 @ 1:24pm
I build rails with wooden sleepers. Here are the exact figures for resource consumption per 1 walk. Gravel - 1.66 tons. Boards - 0.56 tons. And Steel - 0.29 tons. If there were 16 tons in the cost of 1 trip, that would be great.
Хапуга 16 Mar, 2022 @ 1:03pm
Excuse me, but a train with wagons takes only 2 tons per 1 run. If there were 16 tons, then the train would build almost 80 m of rails. The wagons visually carry cargo, but in fact there is none. One train plus 7 wagons, 2 tons each is 16, as you write. But the cars are actually empty. As a result, only the locomotive takes the load from the station. This can be seen by how much the volume of the warehouse decreases for 1 locomotive run. And as a result - a very long construction of rails. I hope to get this problem resolved as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.
Monotone  [author] 16 Mar, 2022 @ 10:47am
I've given the wagons a pretty low capacity for the sake of realism and balance, but I appreciate that they don't carry very much so need to an annoying amount of trips. It should be carrying about 16 tons, which is the weight capacity on each wagon, so maybe the game limits it to how much there is displayed visually. I'll work on increasing that.
Хапуга 16 Mar, 2022 @ 10:40am
Hey! Thanks for good job! There's a problem, I've been playing since 1922. The tracklayer is bought without pastures, but it travels with loaded wagons and carries 2 tons of rails at a time. With one trip, he builds 10 meters of rail! There are no special wagons for sale anywhere, neither in a construction depot, nor in a simple depot. If cars should automatically appear with the train, how to increase their carrying capacity? This was asked in the comments, but there was no answer. I play with the mods you recommended for this train.
~aras 11 Feb, 2022 @ 3:32pm
i think is should have low workers capacity but wagons like 50k. so many workers in this little loco... Boild slow but just delivering materials will been better
Monotone  [author] 11 Feb, 2022 @ 11:15am
The capacity of the wagons is low compared to later track builders. So it can only carry enough track for a short way each trip.
♠ DSet 11 Feb, 2022 @ 9:39am
Why does it only build like 10 m of track at a time? Is this some kind of bug?
oleg32 28 Jan, 2022 @ 11:16am
Thank you very much. Now there will be a railway in my country. .Otherwise, Lenin has nothing to come with to carry out the socialist revolution.
oleg32 28 Jan, 2022 @ 11:16am
Огромное спасибо. Теперь в моей стране будет железная дорога. .А то Ленину приехать не на чем совершать социалистическую революцию.
brage49 27 Jan, 2022 @ 6:41am
THANKS! Finaly a rail builder i can use from 1917 without cheesing
Duke Flapjack 26 Jan, 2022 @ 10:39am
This certainly is indeed a very useful engine!
Kongou_Teitoku 26 Jan, 2022 @ 8:25am
Hello! Good job, you're going to make me start my railway plan in advance. Many thanks!
