Yes the AML is the better launcher (use the 1.6Beta Release, its stable and so much better than the 1.5)
@hott3
iirc that should be fine, if in doubt try them out together -- it might require some config work, I'm sorry I honestly can't remember
I'm using the original launcher, there was another thread I'd read that said it was better than the updated one.
Is this what you're recommending?
https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/xcom2-launcher
I've never seen that error when playing modded xcom2, are you using the Alternative Mod Launcher ( if you are not, you should be as the 2klauncher is unreliable at best and at worst just outright broken)
Firstly when attempting to load xcom there's this error about 'cannot determine mods that were used', which has come up before and results in it unselecting a bunch of stuff.
I thought I'd selected all my mods back, but when attemping to load the file I get the message "vcp_sparkclass is required for this save", which as this is about the only spark class mod pack I have I assume it's related but there's no mod on the launch menu by that name.
Any ideas what the name of the mod is that shows up on the mod launcher that relates to "vcp_sparkclass"?
Could you add a note in this mod that a classless Spark does not work with Starting Spark mod?
So 'yes' it will work with Iridars SPARK Arsenal ... but ... you'll want to find a "spark classes" mod that actually utilises those weapons/perks ...
This one appeared when I reached psi tech.
Sorry for the confusion.
Went over the issue on discord. I was depending on 'Disable Any Class GTS Redux' to only promote into universal soldiers. Worked fine for my last play through. Zelfana seemed convinced it wasn't enough and got me to try 'Choose My Class' which seems to have gotten me around the issue while causing other minor bugs with the XP mod.
I'll double check alchemist. I thought I just cleaned my classes up to try fixing it.
Also the Alchemist doesn't have a RPGO spec, you don't need the class in RPGO, as the Immolator mod on it's own has all the Specs ..
But yes regular rookies were getting promoted to seeming random classes although many seemed to roll Alchemy, there were some others mixed in.
I'll see about putting some screenshots in my steam to link.
Oh, final check.. this is somehow making non-spark soldiers get normal class promotions?
I'm using RPGO with commanders choice and hundreds of mods but once this one is removed the bug stops.
Tempted to try some spark mods but this one will have to wait. :' )
For all class promotions past rookie the AAR screen works as intended, its just the rookie>squaddie rank that has this issue.
As this is just the framework that allows those mods to add classes. Without extra classes/mods the only option you would have is the Vanilla Spark
Maybe what you are after is something like Choose My Class ?
But normal soldiers in XCOM2 don't have 'subclasses' , they don't need them. ??
>> adds subclasses for normal soldiers
... is a little vague tbh. And also is a question that has nothing to do with this mod.
Unless you are asking for -spark- classes to go with this, in which case the question is answered in the description and the accompanying discussion thread.
