MrCat 13 Apr, 2024 @ 7:24pm
please make one that makes it so modded weapons dont break
Sanakan  [author] 5 Nov, 2023 @ 5:04pm
@Joker: Yes, this mod includes firearms. Check to ensure that UVW is installed AFTER any other weapon mods. Additionally, check to see if the weapon is being modified by UVW. When you hover over a gun, the item tooltip should have a section at the bottom that tells you which mod it is currently being modified by. If it does not list "Unbreakable Vanilla Weapons," the weapon is not being modified properly.

does this also include guns?

Because the problem I'm having is my guns breaking and then I have to find a new one not melee weapons breaking (Because I always have something to use to repair those)

That's okay, thank you for the mod anyhows!
Sanakan  [author] 24 May, 2023 @ 11:09am
Unfortunately that's beyond my abilities, I am not skilled at all when it comes to making mods. This mod as a whole is simply a file swap.
Xanatra 17 May, 2023 @ 2:29am
Is there any chance you can make mod settings that allow you to choose the weapons that are going to be unbreakable? I know its asking for a lot but if that was an option i would greatly appreciate and enjoy it.
Roddo 29 Apr, 2023 @ 11:46pm
First time that I am going to try this mod that I needed so much, hopefully it is compatible with the Snake mod. Now I will look for a mod that changes the appearance of Vanilla weapons hahaha
Sanakan  [author] 23 Mar, 2023 @ 1:29pm
@Phoenix yes, you should be able to. Just in case: create a copy of the save.
Phoenix 23 Mar, 2023 @ 1:04pm
Can I remove this mod from a save without my stuff disappearing?
OttosTheName 2 Oct, 2022 @ 6:15pm
Removed my previous post bc I did get it to work. If you already have a savefile you want to apply it to you have to turn on the mod in the Mods menu. Then you can't just click Continue, but you have to click Load, click the Save, click more and click Choose Mods to enable the mod for that specific save.

This might be absolute beginner knowledge, but it wasn't obvious to me and it took me a bit to figure out. Considering this could be the first mod some people download you could put it in the description.

It (now) does make weapons you already had or weapons you spawn in with indestructible. Which is great if you wanna save your first weapon or something rare.

@Sanakan, thank you, but i fixed everything
Sanakan  [author] 19 Aug, 2022 @ 7:53pm
@Alex have you ensured you installed it correctly? Check "Mod not working" section in description. If it's still giving you issues, I can investigate in a few days with some friends.
Dmitriy 19 Aug, 2022 @ 12:34am
Doesn't work atm in mp

To make things a bit easier for everyone, I've made a thread to report bugs & issues in the discussions tab. You can continue to report them in the comments if you'd like, or in the pinned discussion forum. Thanks everyone!

@YaKnowWhatIMing I'll look into this, thanks for catching it. Likely I'll just have to adjust the ConditionLowerChanceOneIn and make the ratio very, very high to simulate invincibility on the scissors. I'll get a patch out in a few hours.
YaKnowWhatIMing 31 Jul, 2022 @ 7:51am
It conflicts with the scissors' haircut function; the scissors become unrecognizable and the haircut text line is always red. I have to add the ConditionLowerChanceOneIn for the scissors to become workable for haircuts.

@MarshallOver I can look into it, but I believe there's a variety of existing mods that make clothing indestructible or at the very least easily repairable. Same with vehicles.
Deterioration for non-weapon items is a bit more complicated, because they can be damaged by more factors than simply hitting a zombie.
MarshallOver 17 Jul, 2022 @ 12:29am
can you create one that avoids the deterioration of all items, except for food, only weapons or clothes that become unbreakable, would it be possible if you do it please?
Sanakan  [author] 10 Jun, 2022 @ 10:32pm
@Oedipus's Stepdad: This mod does not require a new game, however, make sure that UVW is the LAST installed modification to weapons. If you install UVW and then install a modification that alters weapons over it, UVW will not work. Install the weapon mod first, THEN install UVW. Make sure this process is repeated when loading mods for the world/server. When you play, hovering over the weapon should display that it is being modified by UVW.
Oedipus's Stepdad 10 Jun, 2022 @ 1:56pm
Does this mod require a new game? My m16 is still losing condition
Kazali 31 May, 2022 @ 8:04am
@Sanakan Hey no problem. I see noone has done such a mod but it is asked by people. I just wish I knew how to mod myself, but matter of fact I dont xD
But was worth a try, would have been awesome. If any one else reads this and you can mod or want to mod. Pls go for it, we will love you
Sanakan  [author] 30 May, 2022 @ 3:37pm
@Kazali
I've tried to look into this, but unfortunately I seem to be unable to find the value/formula to edit in the game files to modify this property. I've asked this question on the official mod forums as well - and unfortunately, I have not received an answer. I'm a very novice modder, so unfortunately, without some input as to what value or formula to edit: I'm not sure I can modify this.
Sorry.
Kazali 30 May, 2022 @ 4:31am
Hello there, I love your mod, it helps a lot and increases the fun of playing the game for me. Sometimes I just want to chill a bit and just mow down zombies with my machete. A question though, since I have not found a mod like this yet (maybe you know one and can redirect me but) if it would be possible to make a second mod in which instead of unlimited health, the percentage of possible repair of your weapon is always fixed and doesnt lower the more times you repair the same weapon. So in some playthroughs I would use the unbreakable weapons and in some I would let them break but you can repair them unlimited times and always with the percentage that they have if you would repair them for the first time. It would be amazing if that would be possible.
Lord Asshat 5 May, 2022 @ 6:53pm
Honestly it's really weird that more games don't use degradation of items more as a thing that happens only for low quality items. A wooden bat makes sense, cracking skulls with it could degrade it, but even then I imagine major league bats would last longer than the ones in-game
Mabel Pwnz 20 Feb, 2022 @ 8:07pm
It's the whole degrading thing that makes me worry about the future updates. I don't think the creators understand how repairs actually work... Much less how much effort has to be put into breaking things, like baseball bats. Much less crowbars.
Sanakan  [author] 19 Feb, 2022 @ 4:17pm
I feel similarly. My father an I own firearms, and he has personally shot upwards of 50,000 rounds through some of them. Minor parts (usually springs) needed replacement, but the weapon never broke in such a way that it was unusable.
Mabel Pwnz 19 Feb, 2022 @ 2:28pm
Wow, nice. I was kinda feeling a little... Disappointed with how fragile weapons were. I've had the same machete, crowbar, and hammer in my toolkit, with regular use for the last 20 years and I haven't broken them. So I never understood why things in games were so fragile.
