Oh right, they might not have collision geometry. That was probably on my todo list lol. And I would never use a model from a third party source, I have access to all the games models from a primary source.

whenever i spawn the model it is an effect. that is probably why it doesnt create a ragdoll when it dies. could you by chance attach the animations and bones to something else or are they stuck with this? there are grunt models on the workshop from halo reach and halo 3.

If you spawn the model it should already be a ragdoll.

if you try to convert the grunt mdl back you should notice it saying that the mdl file is corrupt. IDK why though, but it happened to me when I tried to convert the grunt mdl to a ragdoll.

I've got an obsession to make everything perfect, That's why the majority of what I work on never gets released or gets released unfinished. The npc code could never be 1:1 so it's not worth working on imo, Also I tried adding the bone in the SMD, it would compile without it.

I have been making a Halo SNPC addon for gmod. Fun stuff. Ive been tinkering w/ the ai functions of combine/citizen and adding scripts. I think I can make banshees if I base the logic off of my creations of self-flying fighters from wiremod. But I cannot find any sort of working interpolation to smooth out flight movements. Like the phantoms, I can do custom animations by manipulating the bones and I can have it deploy people of course, but it's flight is trash. I can't find any formulas to help get exact trajectories, even with custom nodes in place.

So just scrpped them both for now.

But everything else turned out nice. :D BUT for some reason, my loading times are slowing down. And I have a >3.2Gz Quad-Core

I also find it strange that the shoot animation is it "flinching," but it would be cool if you add new animations. Like the "curl up into a ball" death anim.

actually, what if you tried renaming the hand bone? i think it doesnt do it because the wep bone is undefined. BUT it is good to see you replying, I thought you scrapped this. :D

@Howard.J These animations were converted from the game itself, yes. If I remember correctly, the main issue was getting the weapons to attach to the hand correctly, I couldn't append a valve bone to the original skeleton.

can you finish them? It would be awesome to have these done. or at least send me the source files. and did you animate them using the crowbar tool or something, or are these animations from the game itself?
