i believe it was intended to work for sprinting zombies, however, the mod is likely outdated. i'm not sure if browser8 will ever consider updating it (if needed), unfortunately.

also probably admins with the godmode active shouldn't fall (you can check it with the isGodMod method on the player).

hi, there is a bug in the mod. You're checking if the player wears an item that contains either the term "Shoes" or "Boots", but you're checking it on the name of the item which is the translated one. Therefore it will only work if the game language is set to English. You should check it against the type or the full type (getType or getFullType on the item).

@UattO you should leave the boots, shoes and others default and only change running and sprinting. The higher those are the less likely it'll become.

Hi guys, I love this mod, very addicting for my rp server !!
But I noticed a problem and maybe I will be forced to remove it until it is fixed: The initial values ​​of possibility of slippering of 1000/500 seem to remain unchanged even by modifying them, I have come to lower them down to 50/25 but I always get falls at least 1 time on 2.
I'm testing the mod with a pg with 0 nimble, I think I understand that nimble is the ability that most regulates the possibility of falling (I'm not sure), I need to put less chance of falling because my server is hardcore with sprinters and many zs, so when it snows, the players would all be dead on the first step.
I'm testing with nimble at 0 because it is the average value with which new characters spawn, and for developers 0 does not mean "completely incapable" but rather "normal", this applies to all abilities except passive ones.
I'm trying everything to be able to lower the chance of falling but everything seems in vain :(

Can zombies slip too? Especially if they are sprinting after something, be it yourself or a random car alarm. I'd think a braindead monster mindlessly chasing after its prey wouldn't exactly be particularly careful on the snow and ice, as opposed to a living human who is consciously aware of the risks of running on ice.

...perhaps zombie intelligence and the zombie's footwear can have an effect on the odds of them slipping too.

An option for sprinters slipping on snow would be great. I'm not sure if you meant "break the game" as in "disrupt the balance" or actually bug the game out. Obviously balance issues are subjective.

I don't really undestrand man how to set the value right.
I'dd like to lower the fall chance when someone use boots.How do I set a 25% chance of falling with boots compared to shoes?

Zombies are not vulnerable to slipping on the snow, unfortunately. It would very likely break the entire game if this was implemented.

@Browser8 / @Jinshushei -- Awesome idea for a mod! But I gotta ask... Are sprinter zombies also vulnerable to slipping on snow/ice? That would be a deal breaker for me and would be a shame for a lot of people that want to try new challenges, like this, Cryogenic Winter and Sprinters xD

The math is random(Factor) < 1 - footwear modifier.

So if you wanted to make boots still let you slip you could subtract 1 to footwear factors and increase the moving factor to compensate.

@Browser8 Any chance we could get a little context on the number ranges for the setting?
I was looking at it last night and the number ranges are massive but I'm unsure of how that translates to gameplay... Specifically I wanted to tweak it so that boots give you the most traction but still have a chance of slipping if not carful. Thanks for an awesome mod that I look forward to playing with! :steamhappy:

Should be noted this mod uses the OnPlayerMove event which fires off a lot of times per second while the player is moving, so having these low chances is needed.

As for working on zombies too, I'm hesitant to do it because it might have a negative impact on server performance.

This would be amazing if it worked not necessarily on zombies... but on sprinters. Just imagine yelling at a batch of sprinters, see them do that little jerk around "what was noise?" motion, then all wipe out as they try to take off after you.
