Great Mod love it! Two issues at the time of writing this

1. For some reason after summoning the shattering moon once it happens like every other night

2. after we kill the boss for shattered moon, the death animation or the boss break apart whatever its called, it pops up every now and then and if we're near npcs it just instakills them

Only issues we have right now, overall amazing mod!

I've put some work in for a new update every now and then, but it's not very often and so progress is slow. As a result, there may be an update in the future, but nothing is going to be released anytime soon.

Gravity dust spawns on Cloud blocks in space.
Fire dust on ash blocks in the underworld
Plant dust on mud blocks underground
Ice dust on snow blocks in underground ice biomes.

More Dust spawns in everytime skeletron dies, so if you struggle to find a lot, try defeating him a whole lot.

Okay, yeah so randomly it did finally spawn properly, was able to kill some grimm and got a fair amount of the materials. I'm feeling like it was probably a weird interaction with calamity. Thanks!

The answer to this is that the mod has been tested to work in multiplayer, but not nearly to the same extent it has in single player. So, it's very possible that there is an issue with spawning the Shattered Moon in a multiplayer world.

However, my memory may be a little fuzzy, but I believe I've receive reports of a similar issue before but was never able to recreate it. I've just tried again, and still am able to spawn the Shattered Moon without issue, so my assumption is that it's a mod conflict.

Does this mod work in multiplayer? I'm currently playing with a friend and had the prompt that the shattered moon was starting twice, but nothing happened. No visual changes, no grimm spawning, nothing. Or like, maybe is there some kind of conflict with either Fargo's mod or Calamity maybe? Just really REALLY want the Floating Array, but can't get the grimm to spawn and am getting a little sad :<

The only condition to cause the dust spawn trigger is to kill Skeletron, with the effect being able to work as many times as they're beaten in any world. So there shouldn't really be a reason for it to not happen, unless it's either bugged or there's a conflict with another mod.

I've just done a quick check attempting to trigger the spawn on different worlds, but I didn't seem to have any issues with it, so I can't really list this off as a bug yet.

The only other option is that it's a mod conflict, so if you've got any other mods enabled it may be an interaction issue between one of them and TRRA. Sadly, this isn't something I can help with (as the conflict could be anything).

My only remaining recommendation is to check around your world to see if any Dust spawned anyway (looking at any floating islands is probably the quickest way), as it might have just been an issue with text popups, rather than the actual dust spawning.

Hey quick question. When I kill Skeletron the prompt of the Dust crystals spawning in the world, nor does the message "Skeletron was defeated!". Do you possibly know why? just need a little help with this situation :loddlelove:

I love this mod so far, though only suggestion I'd have would be to add some armor sets since the vanilla armor only buffs either melee or ranged, and the mod uses both on one weapon. But that's just a thought and it's not imperative since there's the huntress emblem. But it's still a great mod and pretty good quality, thank you for making it!

There is an item that can instantly summon it called the Stone of Negativity, but it's only dropped by Grimm which only appear during the event.

However, throwing a Bloody Tear into the Shimmer will transform it into a Stone of Negativity, so that is also an option if you don't want to wait.

The Shattered Moon has a roughly 1/9 chance of occurring at the start of any night, however that is also dependent on other events like Blood Moons and Lantern Nights not happening (as they get priority). As a result, the actual odds are a little under 1/9.

i figured it out eventually, i had to build a large number of houses in the underground, none of which were used until way later, for some reason having too many homes in one area bugged everything out

Sadly, no. I've just re-checked and the same spawn conditions are still working for me (having any dust crystal, or any TRRA weapon, in your inventory). My assumption then is that the only reasons they're not spawning for you could be:
- You're not meeting that condition
- There's a bug with the town NPC spawn function in tModLoader
- You have another mod that is conflicting with TRRA in some way that is stopping it (this is my guess)

Hmmm that's interesting. Obviously inter-mod interactions can be tricky to understand (given I don't know what Thorium will be interacting with that'll change how TRRA acts), but in this case I can say that Omen, the Floating Array and Gambol Shroud all use similar code to correctly swap between their attack types depending on the mouse button clicked. So, I'm assuming that it's probably breaking something there.

Not really sure if there's anything I can really do about fixing it, but interesting to know anyway I suppose.

Love the mod, although I will comment that for whatever reason Thorium doesn't play well with the left click effects of Floating Array, Omen, and Gambol Shroud's sheathed form (for Floating Array the left click ends up being another summon button until you're effectively out of mana, Omen doesn't lose the portal buff after the portal is used and fires harmless versions of the portal projectile on a left click, and Gambol Shroud just doesn't attack on a left click) but otherwise everything works fine

You shouldn't need a specific tool to mine Dust. I've just taken a look myself and this seems to occur for me as well, so it's just a general bug (nothing wrong with your game specifically). You may have noticed that Dust crystals have a couple of different potential sprites? Well, for some reason crystals are only dropping when a certain appearance is used... so that's concerning.

Thanks for pointing this out though, I'll see if I can fix this quickly.

Is there a specific tool or pickaxe I have to use to obtain dust? because I have been using different pickaxes of different powers to try and mine the dust but the dust just ends up breaking and nothing drops when it breaks. Am i bugged or is there a specific tool I need?

I have no idea why that would happen... I don't believe the event manipulates anything that would control that. My first instinct would be that it's being caused by a combination with some other mod which manipulated each other in an unintended way (or just due to something unstable with the 1.4.4 preview).

Regardless though, I'll take a look into the issue.

Shattered moon even broke my server, town npcs started killing each other and wouldnt stop, they also wouldnt respawn afterwards, server log doesnt mention any errors at all

Mod is on version 3.4.4.1 while on tmodload 1.4.4 preview but wont load the mod as it claims its incompatible with the version

I've thought about adding an Aura system before, but I imagine it would require a lot of overhauling to do, so there aren't any plans to add it as of right now.

I'm not saying it won't ever be added, but it's not very likely.
