Does it need to be updated?
I am reading here you plan on doing an update? Or is it out already? Does the mod work with the release version of the game?
I'm assuming this behavior comes from this mod, because if not, then it would be in the base game, which would somehow be worse :)
Also, I just had this happen a second time on my 9th time leaving port. Annihilated again by 12 bombers 50m from the docks
On my 2nd ever time leaving port (in 1939), I had 24 depth charges dropped on me by 12 bombers... after having undocked and travelled 50 meters within the docks...
I note also the radar unlock dates are a bit too early (1941 and 1942 are definitely too early for ASV Mk III and ASV Mk VII)
I was looking at the files you modified - I am not sure Fairey Fulmar used radar (it only used air intercept radar according to wikipedia) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairey_Fulmar
So I would suggest removing that one.
The issue I think is that there is endless planes and you can't stay above water for more than 10 minutes it seems.
Aircraft in vanilla UBOAT are a little daft and sometimes toothless. It makes engaging with your sub's AA gun a viable course of action.
From what I've read, that is not at all historically accurate. SOP for spotted aircraft was immediate crash dive because engaging them was basically guaranteed death.
This mod makes it more historically accurate in that respect.
I haven't played enough to see if the new version pushes it too far, but I played many hours with the previous version.
I'm not quite that far gone as of yet.
I know this is what happened later in the war, but it was absurd and unworkable. It should be maybe every 10th crossing attempt not every single one.
There would also be an issue with planes accumulating at ports every time i was loading torpedos there would be 20 planes going round and round. Id have to console FOG jsut to get out of the port.
I assumed that the Plane AI would be improved in the vanilla game after this patch. Is this the case? With planes just going around in circles like mindless hawks. Or is the mod still needed for agressive planes?
It would be nice though if you restored the old description of the mod that describes what it does it some detail :)
The mod increases plane aggression, plane accuarcy, plane spawn rates (there will be more), planes will rush you more likely (always). The mod will make planes a nightmare, a challenge.
