and I don't have much time. in the mean time you can try check the file and edit it (in extension) but otherwise it will take some time before I update it.
not a dead mod, it does what it should, but you can report about it if it doesn't work...
I have no idea what GFN is, but its completely unlogical that my mod produce any crashes, in case of a conflict the game ignore the added code and prioritize the vanilla code, or the code of another mod it conflict with.
Debug log: [] 0.00 File I/O: Could not find file '.\extensions\bounty get you money\content.xml.sig'
should be, its is for sure for 5.1 update, as written in the changelog of the steam page. (change note)
but can't say for sure for 5.1 hotfix 3.
I don't believe hotfix 3 broke better kill credit, its still possible but I doubt it.
make sure to be in the same sector when you kill that xenon, and most importantly that the xenon is inside said faction sector and you have a police license with this same faction.
otherwise it won't be counted, sector wide bounty are only possible when its in a faction sector, and you have a police license with this said faction
(and you are present in the sector when said enemy got killed.)
happy to hear, I don't believe so. only kill made by you are counted, and only kill made by your ships count if you have better kill credit installed. and even that work only if you close by/in the sector they made the kill (think you need to be in the same sector)
but station kill from what I know are not counted also in better kill credit
Also a question, do my station kills also count towards a kill credit, if my station is near NPC stations?
ah yeah no then don't worry its not linked.
its linked to how much sector they own(the more sector they own the stronger they become)
that the same for all faction.
tho the more sector they own and the more it take for their ship to travel/to get repaired...
I only mentioned it in regards to your mod because, if that was the case, then obviously this mod would exacerbate those effects, specifically by giving a cash influx faster than the normal universe shipyard economy can keep up. Leaving an added burden on the player to use that cash building econ for supply just to survive.
It's still riveting either way.
like I said in the description this mod replace only the value of bounty reward nothing else.
and cannot affect anything else at all. and if this mod get conflict with another mod, the only effect it might have is giving the vanilla bounty reward.
again nothing else is possible. so short answer no it have nothing to do with this mod
in the original game and this mod you don't get money for destroying station.
only for ship.
there is 5 size of ship taken into account, XS, S, M, L, XL
XS are the civils ship roaming around the station (and I believe drones but not sure about that)
S are the little fighter/civilian ship the player can control
M the little corvette/fregate
L the destroyer/heavy fregate
XL the carrier/support ship/builder.
you should get 40k killing one XS ship without police license.
(with police license you get 120k for EACH XS ship destroyed.)
thus when destroying the station you probably destroyed a lot of XS ship in the process or m/l/xl ship around the station and thus you got 28mil.
and the second time you probably only killed on XS ship without a police license.
hope it help good luck.
but you need to change the CAT (and only the cat), you need to open the cat file with X TOOLS you can get from steam download after buying a egosoft game or from the website.
then you open and extract the content of the cat, modify the file (in this case there is only one file)
and then put it in your extension as loose files, or by packing it again to a cat file (which will make both a .cat and .dat file you need both, but you shouldn't be touching the dat file, only the tools build it.
so either you extract the cat file, make modification and then pack the cat file again which will automatically make a dat file with it in the tool.
or you extract the cat file, make modification to the file, and then put it in extension as loose file.
the issue tho, is does better kill credit updated for 5.00? not all mod need updating all the time. it depend what they modify.
I believe better kill credit should work awesome with 5.00 because it is compatible with all mods that add new sector/faction.
so there no reason it wouldn't be compatible with sector/faction added by dlc.
pretty much like dynamic wars. (even tho dynamic wars still need update for conversation files, for the paying for peace/war feature.)
in other words, you are safe using this mod, and should be safe using better kill credit with 5.00
here it give you an alternative to building station, making bounty hunting actually lucrative.
not logical that you kill 3000 ships, 100 xl which is around 10,000,000,000 of assets in game, and all that you get is 10,000,000. and that not counting your loss.
while the faction you protect make billions (in reality in the game faction have infinite money btw, they are limited by jobs number depending the number of area they own. more area they own, more ship they get/build.)
so make your own opinion, but I won't call that cheat or stuff for myself. if I could destroy armada I would end up rich trust me.
I don't think faction that own empire would go broke financing between 60% to 80% of destroyed ships to mercenaries like the "player faction" can be called.
on top of that they would give you a salary and make you go up in rank giving you more and more.
something we don't have here at all.
risking your life and your ship (your only property) should give you something.
on top of that in the game right now, you can literally mine one to two crystall, buy a miner, let him mine, then with the money buy more miner, then build factory and then shipyard, to then realize that most of the gameplay was letting the game run in the background and rarely playing the game, and when playing the game you just manage stuff and then go back to other thing.
I am sure all veteran will identify with it, but maybe a minority that roleplay and don't care about money.
bounty prices.
yeah, it make bounty hunting something that get you money.
never understood why this isn't a thing as you can pretty much earn millions doing literally nothing. after 20 hour in game and couple factory bounty hunting feel like doing it for free in vanilla.
on top of that, it doesn't force people who are fighting oriented rather than trading oriented to play the way they like.
and pirating is still lucrative if you take into account ware and ship price which stay higher than killing for the bounty. (and let alone the fact that to get bounty you need to be in an allied territory).
tho I still advice people to keep a vanilla game and learn how to make factory and earn money vanilla because in some month/half a year~ they will release the venture update. but that if someone want to play the venture seasons when it release.
in mean time happy hunting.
It works perfect for me.
Thanks for your work, makes the Game a bit less grindy..
with police license you get 120,000
without police license you get 40,000
if you don't get this amount and still get vanilla amount (around 1,000-10,000) then report, including a major mod you using.
(like VRO, star wars) but from what I tested it should work with all those mod.
thus if the mod don't work, you will simply receive the vanilla reward instead of the high ammount this mod provide.
I do recommend using "better kill credit" on steam workshop, it allow better recognition for kills, give you bounty for kill made not directly by you but your AI controlled ship, and even get bounty for making damage on a ship without having to have the last kill shot.
but anyhow the only effect that this mod would have on your game if it was not working, would be getting vanilla reward and nothing else at 100%.
its ain't compatible with mod modifying the bounty reward amount, and fully compatible with the mod "better kill credit".
good hunt.
