For those who are finding this mod to be too much, but still want wound infections to do something, you can edit the mod manually. Heres how:
Go into the mod and find the dod_PlayerUpdate.lua. Find the following set of code:
if infectionLevel > 0 then
infectionLevel = math.max( 0.08 , infectionLevel * DisinfectOrDie.difficulty * 0.06)
for i = 0, parts:size() - 1 do
damage:AddDamage(i, infectionLevel)
end
end
end
See the number that is in bold? That is the damage you will take, which is multiplied by the difficulty level. Change that to a lower value, and the damage every minute becomes lower.
I like the idea of the mod, but it does need some balance.
This is really one of those, "If you don't like it, don't use it" scenarios.
A suggestion to the developer- Instead of straight damage multiplier, infection should do a various assortment of negative things to your characters which will make gameplay extremely miserable and dangerous if ignored, so you can't just run around with infected wounds and continue to loot, you'll have to actually expend medical supplies and stay adequately prepared.
Infections should increase things like - Actual sickness, increasing pain, decreasing movement speed, decreasing carrying weight/strength fitness etc. or even make up your own moodels and ailments to coexist alongside your mod.
If you ignore infections you should get sicker and die from it, straight damage does not fit the bill for me.
Nauxs smells like cheese.

I don't know about you but when I get a scratch irl I don't end up feeling like I'm going to die in just 4 hours time. Quickest uninstall of my life.
Severe Non-lethal infections shuts off lethal zombie infection chances from scrathes and lacerations, while bites are optional.
As long as this mod does not cause an infected wound on a scratched hand to kill a character in an hour, but more like a day or two, I'm in!
Thank you!
On lowest setting, it's manageable. Any higher it makes injuries put you out of commission and sends you back to your safehouse.
It requires you to always have sterilized bandages on and even use disinfectants.
If you enjoy throwing a plain bandage on a deep laceration and moving on with no consenquence, don't add this mod. So pretty much, if you don't want a medical challenge don't bother.
In vanilla, disinfectant and sterilized bandages barely have any benefit.
Ignore the title I didn't name it
good idea.
