If you ask me - it's probably Yak 9 (espetially tankbuster variants) that were really on hype with their cool looking big guns, but rather super unreliable and upractical. However, same here, I do respect it, tho Yak didn't delivered as universal aircraft anyway

Sadly, as much as I respect the Spitfire I dislike it because of how every one acts like it was a super plane able to anything

I remember that, I personally think that the bf 109 was one of the best fighters of the war

Heinkel was competing with Messerschmitt at first, and actually won competition by making fastest interceptor at the time (He 100) but lost in "easy to mass produce". And then Kurt came along, and Heinkel shifted to making strategic bombers once and for all
