You do not need to start a new game for it to work. Did you tick the "Override System Mods" when right before loading into your galaxy?

It only changes vanilla systems, so it does work if you have the DLCs installed and working. It does not change any of the DLC systems however. I may work on that this week, but not sure how it will affect those that do not have the DLC.

@resnuses I have the rift DLC, and it appears that this mod does not affect the rift subsystems( they are entirely separate, it seems)

I am not sure.l I do not have the Into The Rift DLC, so I could not say. I do not think it will however, as they are probably different systems. Sorry about that.

Woops. Forgot to change the system text. It was working, it is just that the text was updated. I thought it did it automaticaly, but i guess i have to change it manualy for the Xsotan keys. It is now updated.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I forgot to change the auto numbers on all the Xsotan keys. It has been fixed and uploaded.

Found an error. The swoks subsystem, while giving 8 times the armed slots, doesn't increase the auto slots it seems. Broke some of my ships when I upgraded from a +4 to a +8-mod.

Where would I change to update the auto turret to be x12 and the others x8, this seams to be the ratio that I'm short auto turrets.

I can recommend to use the Not Enough Turrets: Updated mod instead of this one to have similar results.

Unfortunately, I don't see anything wrong on my side. All this mod does is multiplies the number of turrets on the system. It doesn't change any more complicated code. It could be the auto-turret mod that you have. It probably changes the same file that mine changes, and overrides the values. I can only suggest disabling that mod to make it work with this one.

Hey, I've been using the 4x mod for a while and wanted to try adding this one. When disabling 4x and enabling 8x, the auto-turret multiplier for armed turret subsystems disappears, giving 72 armed slots and 12 auto-turret slots; the arbitrary turret subsystem drops to 7 auto-turret slots. I've tried enabling both at the same time but it runs into the same thing. Going from 4x to 8x I lost 45 auto-turret slots all told, even with the 100% auto-turret mod from the workshop. Is this likely from a mod conflict, or possibly something else?

It does. combining these two will simply make that mod nearly obsolete. which is kind of a shame.

It will work along side it. It does not multiply the scaling turrets in that mod. It only has an effect on the vanilla turret systems. I am not familiar with the mod, so if it still has the vanilla turret systems that give the military, civilian, and arbitrary systems, then it will work along side it.
