Update please

Not a huge surprise, but this doesn't appear to work in 1.4. Applying it to an existing save caused some pawns to get into weird work loops. Would love to see an update, as this seems like the perfect solution to a late game annoyance.

Does 1.4 need this?

Ok, if pawn cooks plain dishes from only berriest where the "unexperienced chef" trait comes from?
"Fresh" means not "uncooked", but "freshly cooked from freshly gained ingredients". When you cook from fresh (up to 24h chilled factory packaged or even frozen) paultry there's almost no chance of contamination. Not to say the game can't simulate decontamination by freezing.

Yeah, you can definitely get food poisoning from fresh ingredients in both real life and in game. Ever heard of chicken? I'm going to assume eating it raw is fresher than cooking it, and that will definitely poison you.

Except you can. Food poisoning isn't about the freshness of the ingredients, at least in the game. Contaminants are a huge part of it and that's what the game simulates.

One simply cannot get food poisoning from food made with fresh ingredients, so bad cooking skill makes no sense either. Gordon Ramsay moment

Thank you. Yep, this mod attempts to eliminate the silly RNG.

Getting poisoning with a level 20 skill just doesn't really make sense imho. Good mod, fixes a core issue Rimworld has which it just shouldn't. 0.1% happens way more often than 0.1%, especially when cooking 4 meals at once.

Never used those mods so I don't really know. But I guess setting it to a higher level would be good for you.

Hey, I like this! I wanna ask: How does this play with "Lethal Food Poisoning" and "Bed Rest For Food Poisoning"? Because currently I want to get food poisoning to be something to seriously watch out for and it to be a threat instead of a minor annoyance, and give a reason to have someone be a dedicated chef and work their skills up to a high degree.
Myrleia  [author] 14 Feb, 2022 @ 12:38pm
Sorry about that. Maybe setting the threshold to a high level like 16-18 would help your cause. Currently, 12 is the default.
UdderlyEvelyn 14 Feb, 2022 @ 12:37pm
Yeah I guess what I'd want is for it to keep scaling down slowly but never quite hit zero. Another mod, perhaps, than this one. xD
Myrleia  [author] 14 Feb, 2022 @ 12:32pm
Well... The mod is made for this. For eliminating that tiny, annoying chance. From 9 to 20, it's the same chance of %0.1.
UdderlyEvelyn 14 Feb, 2022 @ 12:23pm
Would like to see an option for a tiny chance to have poisoning still occur at random (nobody is perfect), something low like .05% just for variety/flavor.
