Odd that reproducing the leviathan clipping through solid rocks didn't work, could be software/settings related.

he's mostly the same but he attacks without the knockout function and he has tweaks depends on difficulty

@zang I did a few runs back then on the leviathan, it was harder than classic SOMA but possible and I managed to beat it easily by hiding after passing each hide spot. Its almost the same as the Leviathan's original AI, except I made his hunt time shorter to force the player to hide more often. Otherwise you'd be able to finish half of the path to Phi without having to take cover.

I didn't encounter any clipping on hard mode with the leviathan, and because things change, I don't have the time to investigate right now. (However if you have a video of the issues you encountered I might be able to figure out whether its intentional or not and what triggers it)

You know I figured after all the reports of issues with specific monsters, mostly being Yoshida and The Leviathan, that you might update their behavior just a little bit to alleviate that. Guess not.

Yoshida was a bit too sonic and the leviathan aggro and clipping causing me to save-scum just to get past that point -on hard-, but other than that it's a cool mod!

Alright, I was able to put my rage aside and do it again. I finally succeeded. Although I still stand by my previous statements, as pushing-through-the-map issues as well as the Leviathan biting you while you're still correctly under something is still infuriating.

Sounds like you had a similar experience to me, only a bit worse luck. I would say it does need some patching.

Good mod, but there are some issues. My GOD the Leviathan part. I eternally stopped playing after that. That left me with nothing but nightmarish, boiling rage. Even if I'm well hidden, it snatches me anyway. It should just instantly kill you, instead of forcing you to watch yourself get carried around, and then die anyway. It has also pushed me through the map and softlocked me. That marks the first time I ever suddenly stopped playing a mod. Also, the part with Yoshida had him sprinting like an absolute mad man, and he would make a beeline right toward me with nothing I could do about it. Again, he throws me away just to kill me anyway. I had to sort of "exploit" the game to get around him.

Yeah the speed of the construct and all the other monsters is increased at hard mode and lowered at easy mode, the construct sprint should be faster than yoshida's at hard mode so it make sense

I was able to complete the mod on Hard with relative simplicity. Only got killed a couple times by Yoshida due to his keen senses. Oddly though, the Construct at the beginning seemed to run a bit faster that I think he should? I'm not totally sure because I wasn't turning around, but the Construct's sprint almost felt faster than Yoshida's and he was able to hit me while running up the stairs at the Plant Floor.

The Leviathan was able to push me through the ground out of the map, and reach me twice within rather protected terrain spots. Not sure if this is a normal bug or the result of increased senses locking in too hard on me due to it being on the highest difficulty. Still was doable anyway though.

@RetroGamer I guess I could increase the cooldown of their next attack based on difficulty, and about the stairs part he can go upstairs but can't go to the second floor even without the mod (it may have been your first time encountering him in the stairs cuz he's faster than normally), thanks for letting me know your thoughts, I hope the rest of the monsters will turn out easier xD.

I tested this mod on normal and, although I like the idea of the mod, the first monster encounter is already pretty broken unfortunately. The knockback is way too strong, Simon takes ages to recover and by the time your vision is normal again the robot goes for another attack until you're dead. I know it can be avoided if you don't let yourself spot but the point of this mod is to get a change to live after beeing attacked and shake the monsters off after beeing spotted, which seems kinda impossible just like in the vanilla game. Also he seems to follow you all the way upstairs which he shouldn't do because reaching a certain point upstairs is a safe spot even if you don't pull the lever. I'll test the rest of the mod later and post my results here

@zang in order to know whether its working or not check if u have multiple difficulties such as easy mode or hard mode. another option is to check to see if the rest of the monsters knock you out when they attack, if they do then something must have been wrong with the launch of the mod.

It's difficult to tell if this has been working so far. I'm just about to embark toward Tau with the light bot. But throughout the rest of the game I don't believe I was struck by any monster besides one Flesher which still knocked me out and I'm not sure if that was intended. I didn't want to get attacked on purpose. I played it pretty well overall. Is there an obvious tell tale sign that it's working, besides getting killed?

Alright, tested the first couple monsters (regular mode), must say I´m impressed, feels very vanilla even, the charge attacks are a nice touch and feels like something they were supposed to be doing from the beginning, I also like how the creatures are more reactice to levers and switches that you press, I also appreciate that you did not make them too insane to avoid. I kind of dread what Theta and Tau are gonna be like though, ... urghh that´s gonna be nightmarish

I kinda miss when horror games would have this kind of attack system, instead of the typical grab and scream in your face deal. Thanks for making this! I'll check it out some time!
