@bobfahren Thank you, I just love the aspect of creating my own unique environment and I'm glad I get to share my creations.

What StrangeKabuki13 said.

Just saw the BBB review too. And I'm such impressed you pulled this as a first map.

It is certainly not yet the prettiest or most overwhelming map in the world. But at first glance I think it's amazing how you guide and challenge me as a player in my game, while still offering all the possibilities. You have a talent there for playable maps and I look forward to more work from you.

I have subscribed to the map and I will definitely try it out sometime (I am still too busy with my current city). Thank you.

@StrangeKabuki13 Thank you! I would love to see what you would build on this map!

just saw the BBB review. This is my kind of map! The terrain is not a huge challenge there are plenty of resources and minimal terraforming. I especially like the more minimalist network. . Expanding on the Artistic/Bob Ross theme, I don't like to make massive change is what the map creator gives me. It is their statement and I like to be keep that in mind as I build. Just my personal quirk about maps. I'm going to give it a go today and see how it plays!

@Matok1971 Thank you, I just saw it. There are a lot of things to improve and polish, maybe I'll try to apply them on my next map.

Nice looking map. BonBonB just reviewed the map. For your first map, I think you did great.

@xiii-Dex I'll be posting another video soon of my second map "Wisp Forest" where I did a much simpler PS heightmap :steamhappy:

@xiii-Dex Thanks, one thing I learned is that you can always do a much simpler base height map for importing i.e. just the basic outline of the rivers, a smooth surfaced mountain and the base slope of the highest and lowest point of the buildable areas, I found that it was much easier to refine in the game itself rather than drawing a very detailed height map in PS, maybe because I'm not really that familiar with digital drawing, I've always relied on traditional pen and paper :steamhappy: hope it helps :steamthumbsup:

Such a cool way to do it. I've been wanting to draw a heightmap for a while now. I always start with drawings, but step 2 winds up being going crazy with pen tool rather than with my tablet.

@Oldhip, this map will give you more buildable area on the west and the whole east side with the 81 tiles mod, as shown in the full map screenshots.

81 tiles ??

@Makwah Thanks! I tried to give as much variety of landscapes to this, especially near the starting square, because one thing I enjoyed when making cities was having one district different from the other, each having a unique view.

I love this map! It has balance, great detail, and has the classic one-highway connection which I prefer to designs that overplay networks. My favourite part is the escarpment between the starting square and the coastal building area for expansion! Unique and brilliantly executed! 10/10
