Hello, any news about updates to this mod?
JP DFW 26 Sep, 2022 @ 8:39am
Is anything being done about the compatibility with the Better Education Toolbar? With this mod on all of my education resources are not broken out and I have to use find it.

Conceptronix - these road textures are already optimized a lot - therefore they can't be optimized by other external tools any more. If you use other roads even with LSM the real RAM load is even more in may cases.

Any feedback on the extreme RAM usage? I don't really care about loading times, as I use over 10K assets, this is normal, but the RAM usage remains at 2GB, throughout the gameplay and makes my gaming experience laggy. Normally after loading, my page file is about 52GB, totally normal and RAM is around 24GB roughly. Those extra 2GB makes it very heavy on my 32GB system.

wow would never see the day. You're the man. I see you're working on multiple mods like mom,
so thank you for what you do @sniggledigit!
sniggledigit  [author] 23 Feb, 2022 @ 9:20pm
Thanks Yuki for the feedback. I have rolled this Beta into the main mod! You may resub the stable version or stay here for first dibs on new content.
Yuki 23 Feb, 2022 @ 6:42pm
@sniggledigit Terrific! It's working fine with my city right now.:highlvl: Really appreciate your work here!
sniggledigit  [author] 23 Feb, 2022 @ 3:47pm
I have posted an update. This one removes an old/obsolete file reference. I am hoping that this explains why the mod works for some and not for others. If this update was helpful please let me know so I can look into rolling this out. Special thanks to Yuki for providing the output_log that led to this discovery!
Undeadbanana 23 Feb, 2022 @ 1:06pm
@sniggledigit I actually figured out the cause. I was dumb and switched to beta at the beginning of a save instead of creating a new save, I just started a new map and everything is working fine together.
sniggledigit  [author] 22 Feb, 2022 @ 8:19pm
@Yuki: Thank you for your feedback.

@Smiles/Conceptronix: Thank you for the feedback! Working toward a way to make loading a lot more efficent.
sniggledigit  [author] 22 Feb, 2022 @ 8:19pm
@Undeadbanana: Interesting! Yeah when using the beta mod, you must unsub the original. Once testing completes and this update is rolled into the original, you may then switch to it unless you would like to beta test the next features and so on. I tested Yuki's test city and found that all the roads show up which points to a mod conflict. I need to know what this conflict is so that I can fix it. It seems like there are a number of people who have this same issue so if I can figure this out, that would be epic! I will make the same request to you that I made to Yuki. Please send me an email with all your traffic related mods. If you don't have a ton of mods, it would be nice to see all the mods you are using so that I can try and reproduce this issue. I think it is probably something simple that would just require a simple tweak but your input would be VERY helpful :)

@sniggledigit Are we supposed to unsubscribe from the original mod?

When I'm subscribed to both with (Beta enabled, Original disabled) everything works fine, but another mod "Zoning Adjuster" detects the original mod installed and shuts down (the mod creator said it works fine with the beta version which is why I'm here now).

But if I unsubscribe from the original version, I end up getting the problem Yuki has where all the icons are a default road (I haven't tried placing them down so I'm unsure if it places a normal road).

Does the beta version reference some things in the originals folder?

@sniggledigit I tried the troubleshooting steps and posted my savegame at the TroubleshootingSavegames . Hope it can help with your amazing and generous work here.:p2cube:
Smilies 20 Feb, 2022 @ 6:51pm
Everything works fine and I haven't encountered any compatibility problems. Only thing I noticed is the same performance hit as Conceptronix posted. Roughly 2gb RAM usage and roughly 1 more minute of load time.
sniggledigit  [author] 20 Feb, 2022 @ 7:24am
I am actually working on it as we speak.
Phoenix Studio 20 Feb, 2022 @ 7:14am
Gave you an award for it. It's working totally perfect, no issues or mod conflicts at all. Loading time is 1 minute more and some RAM, but I guess you'll figure something out, right?
sniggledigit  [author] 20 Feb, 2022 @ 6:34am
@Yuki thanks for sharing an image of your issue. Looks like some kind of mod conflict. I see you have a few installed. Would be very helpful to know which one is causing that to happen. I will keep an eye out myself.
Yuki 19 Feb, 2022 @ 9:54pm
Er, why all Next2 roads of mine is still the vanilla roads...

Hmm, seems to be on my side, but it does add a good minute. I unsubbed from all, then just the needed stuff. (Harmony, fps booster etc......) Loading screen mod gave me this results.

Without extensions 2 beta:

Custom assets loaded 0 assets
Custom assets loading time 0:00 minutes:seconds
Total loading time 1:04 minutes:seconds
Peak memory usage RAM
11.6 GB
Virtual memory
16.0 GB

With extensions 2 beta:

Custom assets loaded 6 assets
Loading speed 187.5 assets / second
Custom assets loading time 0:00 minutes:seconds
Total loading time 2:03 minutes:seconds
Peak memory usage
RAM
13.6 GB
Virtual memory
18.2 GB

2 GB of RAM is quite a lot for just 1 added small mod.

No, I'm trying to eliminate some possible errors as we speak. Will be back soon with report.
sniggledigit  [author] 19 Feb, 2022 @ 8:52am
10 minutes?? Wow! Are you getting any errors?
Phoenix Studio 19 Feb, 2022 @ 8:37am
Hmm, this adds 10 minutes of loading time? Where as the old version adds none??
Lee the Yote 18 Feb, 2022 @ 6:16pm
@cash @stealthy did you not realize they created the original next2?
sniggledigit  [author] 18 Feb, 2022 @ 2:55pm
@bailsafe: Well that's where I need your help. At what point does it not work? Have you tested it?
@BigPapa_Škoda: Yes eventually. I just need to iron out some kinks first.
Mr. Nigerian 18 Feb, 2022 @ 2:22pm
will there be more road?
bailsafe 18 Feb, 2022 @ 1:46pm
Good to see you back! Hoping for some awesome new networks (and a version of NExt2 that actually works 😅)
sniggledigit  [author] 18 Feb, 2022 @ 8:17am
@algernon Thanks for getting the update out and confirming!
@Stealthy I don't want to get ahead of myself but suffice to say, assets are great. This being a mod, we have bigger plans ahead. Stay tuned...
algernon 18 Feb, 2022 @ 8:08am
Zoning Adjuster now updated to 1.5.1, compatible with this version. Good job on the update, and hopefully you can get it out to everyone soon!
Stealthy 18 Feb, 2022 @ 7:49am
A for effort but as all these roads are already available in workshop as individual roads, one must wonder like Cash said: why?
Sp3ctre18 18 Feb, 2022 @ 7:46am
nice! testing version is here!
Chamëleon TBN 18 Feb, 2022 @ 6:46am
Great you are back again - if you need anything else than testing (like we did with Zoning Adjuster) feel free to contact me [best on Discord, but over steam will also work :D]
sniggledigit  [author] 18 Feb, 2022 @ 6:23am
@BrowncoatTrekky: Thank you and THANK YOU!! That warms my heart! I will do my very best to bring awesome new content your way.
sniggledigit  [author] 18 Feb, 2022 @ 6:21am
Thanks guys.

@cash: I started this beta because I need your help. I attempted to push out an update which was tested and works on my end but many of you were reporting serious issues. I can only guess that there are mod incompatibilities afoot but I covet your feedback (and output_logs).
