Thanks for playing, jandlml! No shame in that - I'm glad you enjoyed the map!

never would have figured this one out on my own. had to check the walkthru alot. oh well. excellent map!!
Aneonen  [author] 3 Apr, 2023 @ 6:01pm
Hi jandlml! If you let me know your current position and thought process I'd be more than happy to provide a nudge.

Thank you for playing, skosh!
Haha, I never thought about how that poor corner could be abused! I can probably take care of that some time in the future.

I'm glad you're enjoying my workshop! As the videos note, you're always welcome to reach out to me directly if you want a more dynamic hint.

Another excellent map with a brilliant solution. Unfortunately I will never know if I would have come up with that sequence (probably not), since this rather mundane solution worked for me ... https://youtu.be/PdnM0qyxrhc
You certainly have an amazing talent. I have been slowly making my way through your maps. They are mind boggling. I needed a hint on at least half of them.
Aneonen  [author] 23 Nov, 2022 @ 10:09pm
Thanks Fab! It's very fun seeing you go through all of my maps, and I'm glad you've enjoyed them.

A great monoportal puzzle ! Lots of smart moves and clever setup, a real treat  Favorited !
Aneonen  [author] 30 Oct, 2022 @ 8:14am
Thanks horse! Those moves motivated the puzzle so I'm glad they were the highlight.
horse 27 Oct, 2022 @ 1:01pm
Very, very cool! I especially love those last two moves. Finding the floating cube move and figuring out how to take advantage of it was super fun.
Aneonen  [author] 22 Jul, 2022 @ 6:03pm
Thanks DiDo! It was a pleasure to watch you solve.
DiDo Killer! 22 Jul, 2022 @ 4:37pm
Excellent puzzle, the perfect balance between logic and creativity. One of my favorites.

Thanks Nobody No-One! Glad to hear they were fun.
Nobody No-One 6 Jul, 2022 @ 12:12pm
Very nice map! Good reuses and all the sequences were very fun to do.
Aneonen  [author] 23 Jun, 2022 @ 9:28am
Thanks Teresa! That was indeed the internal conflict with this map.
Teresa 23 Jun, 2022 @ 6:02am
Nice map. It's hard to think, but it's not hard to play , I didn't figure out what I was doing until near the end .
Aneonen  [author] 12 Mar, 2022 @ 12:42pm
Thanks Oblivious Owl! That's some interesting feedback - I guess I like the idea that the map would need to be understood as a whole to proceed.
Oblivious Owl 11 Mar, 2022 @ 7:01pm
Great puzzle! There were definitely some tricky parts that took me a long time to see. Oddly enough, it seems that when I solve your puzzles, I'm always confused right near the start, but once I break through the initial block I manage to get through the rest of it quite easily thanks to thinking about all the possible moves beforehand.
crhoaviet6 8 Mar, 2022 @ 8:06am
Excellent and tricky puzzle; I needed a nudge near the start. The laser cube's placements give a nice sense of progression. I especially like what HugoBDesigner calls "the switcheroo", where the blue and orange portals trade places.
Aneonen  [author] 2 Mar, 2022 @ 12:19pm
@bullfrog Aha! Great to hear it all cleared up.

@nerdlingnation Thanks! Your comment isn't too surprising; this is what I meant by difficulty varying with approach.
nerdlingnation 2 Mar, 2022 @ 10:03am
Really nice sequence. Felt like I got by mostly on intuition.
bullfrog 28 Feb, 2022 @ 11:17pm
@Aneonen I, eventually, solved it the same way as @Libbybapa. I misunderstood what @lapicicdas was talking about, I thought they meant using a cube stack, for some stupid reason, which is what I used initially, "but didn't manage" to make it work.
Aneonen  [author] 28 Feb, 2022 @ 8:18pm
@bullfrog Thanks! Let me know if you want me to validate your solution (or if you have an exploit to show me, haha)

@lapicidas A good motto indeed!

@Atom I gotcha - I'll DM you
Psychological Atom 28 Feb, 2022 @ 8:01pm
@Aneonen How do I look up the UCP's on discord? I'm lost
lapicidas 28 Feb, 2022 @ 10:22am
@Aneonen....and you have been successful in this work! What I also like is the last sentence in your description. According to the motto: If someone absolutely wants to fall into a trap, then he should just pay for it :steamhappy:
bullfrog 28 Feb, 2022 @ 10:14am
Brilliant puzzle definite thumbs up. @lapicidas, I tried to do it the way you said in your second spoiler, but didn't manage it, I think. I'll go back and try again to see if I cheated.
Aneonen  [author] 28 Feb, 2022 @ 10:12am
Thanks lapicidas! This map is making me realize that I maybe have a different sense of "goofiness;" for me, this notion comes from the contrast of a setup which looks so bizarre and almost contrived with the fact that it is still completely logically deducible. This is something I like to do in general; I consider some setup which seems wacky in character, then formalize it in such a way that it is both reasonable and implicitly necessary to solve a puzzle.
lapicidas 28 Feb, 2022 @ 10:04am
Wow, this map is in no way goofy or stupid! On the contrary, a very clever puzzle:steamthumbsup:
Such brainteaser are usually tackled mentally from the end and then you try to achieve the individual intermediate goals - but even if you knew where the RC has to go ,was it very tricky to bring it to its decisive position. And how I finally reach the zero portal was also not clear to me mentally, that only came about when I played it through. Very good, I had a lot of fun figuring it out :steamhappy:
Aneonen  [author] 27 Feb, 2022 @ 6:54pm
Thanks Atom! If you're interested in that signage UCP, search up the BEE2 Discord; it and other nice UCPs can be found in one of the channels!
Psychological Atom 27 Feb, 2022 @ 6:45pm
Very awesome map Aneonen! But I'm still having trouble with my signage, if only I had my hands on those UCP's
Aneonen  [author] 27 Feb, 2022 @ 4:25pm
Thanks Narkodes! Your comment provides some important feedback. My greatest concern when releasing this map was that the motivating setup could be 'trivialized' by the fact that moving the RC to the correct and visibly isolated position naturally suggested it, but if doing so still presented a satisfying "moment of realization," I'm content with it.
Narkodes 27 Feb, 2022 @ 3:22pm
Great map! The ending was a bit hard to see for me because this move and its derivates aren't used that often. It finally clicked when I actually brought the RC to its last station and spotted the angle and possible item interaction from that perspective. Very good work and nice logical progression! :yoku2:
Aneonen  [author] 27 Feb, 2022 @ 3:18pm
Thanks SpielSatzFail! I'm glad you enjoyed it - I think I undervalued this map in several ways. I was rather irritable the few days leading up to its publication for some unrelated reasons which may have distorted my perception of it. I'll see if I can rework the description.
SpielSatzFail 27 Feb, 2022 @ 2:06am
That was tough :-O
Some of the thoughts I had in the first half of my playthrough vaguely included the correct solutions ( the null portal, bringing the laser cube deeper into the weighted cube's area, and even the floating mechanics ) but all this seemed impossible to accomplish so I was unsure about the right direction ^^
Instead I began thinking about weird things like cube stackings and sacrifices, button switcheroo,... some "lower-medium" puzzles still offer many (false) ways to think about, and that's what make them hard for me.
I was quite out of ideas in the end and frustration started to kick in, but fortunately when the penny dropped and I finally found what can be pieced together successfully, I did not only feel relieved and happy, but was also able to appreciate the ideas that went especially into the final sequence. So thumbs up :-)
I also think that, again, you are too hard on yourself when it comes to quality management ;-P
Beautiful design as always!
Aneonen  [author] 26 Feb, 2022 @ 5:40pm
Thanks Libbybapa! That is all intended. Perhaps I misjudged this puzzle - I've been very concerned that the combination of a low surface count, monoportal, and restrictive cube movement would leave the map vulnerable to being approached with minimal planning, as many (though not all) appear to have one direct option that further changes the state. In particular, I was concerned that the motivating setup would 'present itself' if the chamber was approached intuitively. Perhaps I was too overwhelmed by the author's curse of never being able to observe their work blindly. I will defend it being a bit goofy, though! There are several silly-looking moves, and I don't believe that silliness contradicts logicality. You're right that the white trim is better, haha, but my main distaste with this style is that it is far 'rougher' than I'd like; I prefer flatter/wider geometry.
Libbybapa 26 Feb, 2022 @ 5:02pm
I assume this is all intended: https://youtu.be/XvQFDjrj3Ic
Libbybapa 26 Feb, 2022 @ 4:48pm
I enjoyed that a lot. I preferred this aesthetic vs. the larger amounts of white you have used in other maps. The puzzle was very well thought out. Not mind bending, but still a decent challenge that took a fair amount of thought. It also had some very nice creative moves. I didn't really find it goofy and am not sure why you would be disappointed with it. Big thumbs up!
