Another Workshop item* Sorry for the confusion
GasmisenFeik 19 Sep, 2023 @ 9:34am
It might be a good idea to also advertise the Shimmer functionality, as I had absolutely no idea on what it meant until looking through maybe 2–3 pages of comments to find an answer. Also, I've said this in another comment, but an option to be able to minimize the mods settings in the Option's menu would be awesome! I usually minimize every White coloured setting to declutter my options and be able to hop to the Default game settings if I need to, although I am mad understanding if you can't
Metzger 28 May, 2023 @ 1:32pm
Ok, I was able to fix my Problem. For the Shimmer to work, your Settings for "Fancy Graphics" need to be turned ON
Metzger 18 May, 2023 @ 10:06pm
All Mods I installed are: CCSE, Cookie Monster, Horticookie and Cookie Stonks. So; no. No additional mods messing with banks, I think.
Darkmany007 18 May, 2023 @ 1:01pm
I don't, all I have is more heavenly upgrades, garden helper and a cps percentage graph, it worked when I came back to the game after a few months but after cca 3 days it stopped working again.
Sui  [author] 18 May, 2023 @ 6:04am
it still works for me, do you have any other Bank related mods installed?
Metzger 18 May, 2023 @ 5:31am
I second that. Currently the shimmer seems to be malfunctioning.
Darkmany007 13 May, 2023 @ 12:47am
The shimmer doesn't work, I don't know why
Cols 26 Mar, 2023 @ 12:13pm
very useful

Thanks for the replies!

If they're saying buy/sell every stock on $10-$20 it's likely because remembering a different price for every stock is a huge bore, which is also the reason I made this mod.
Sui  [author] 30 Sep, 2022 @ 4:57am
@Night of the Lepus, yes it's still up to date

From the Wikipedia:
The underlying strategy for getting profit in the stock market is to buy low, and sell high. Therefore, it is recommended that you calculate the resting value for each stock (10 x (id+1) + Bank level -1, with id being the stock, CRL being 0, CHC being 1 and so on) and to buy when the stock is significantly below this price, and sell when it goes back to its resting value or higher. If you feel as though a stock is in a slow or fast rise, buy it as soon as you can, and sell when it starts to stabilize.

The people on the Discord might be calculating their resting value for the first stock (CRL, which for people with Banks level 10 will be $19), or maybe they're just doing it on what feels right idk. This mod calculates it for every stock and displays how much lower or higher the current price compared to it is.
Plüschtiger 29 Sep, 2022 @ 10:53pm
@ Night of the Lepus: If those in the Discord mean that in general, then it is far from any game reality and logic. For me most were well over $10-20 more than 90% of the time. The 2nd half of the list is almost always over $50. You can see the base value, around which the values move, in the picture between the % number and the current value. The values have been reduced in game (CRL $20 --> $12), but it should be clear how unlikely it is for a $170 item to drop to $20. For me it was even the case that 95% of the time at CRL the value was 1-3$, in the best case 5$. Sure at 10-20$ you make the most profit, but not a fortune. (translated)
Tostiman Ultimate 29 Sep, 2022 @ 2:30pm
People in the discord say you should buy below 10 or 20 dollar, this mod doesnt seem to agree with that. Any readon for that?
Tostiman Ultimate 29 Sep, 2022 @ 2:23pm
is the buy and sell advice still up to date with 2.048?
Sui  [author] 9 Sep, 2022 @ 3:14am
Yea Steam is a bit weird when it comes to updating, installing and deleting workshop mods idk why
bobrocks95 8 Sep, 2022 @ 9:28pm
Oh the reason I thought this had been added to the base game was because I disabled the mod and somehow still had it installed and got unsubscribed from the workshop version? It was in my workshop folder with an older version that hardcoded the number of stocks to 15 instead of calculating NumStocks. No clue how that happened but everything's good with the newer version.
AGuyCalledFelix 10 Jul, 2022 @ 8:08am
my CRL is at 600% and rising ;-;
suit 8 Jul, 2022 @ 12:51am
using it for a while now, pretty helpful - but unfortunately the buy/sell treshold is different for every stock - is it possible to extend it so an individual buy/sell treshold can be set per stock?
Sui  [author] 17 Jun, 2022 @ 9:15am
It's a visual indicator for whenever a stock has fallen (red) or risen (gold) far below/above the average price of the stock. You can customize the range on the options menu or disable them altogether
suit 17 Jun, 2022 @ 7:30am
hello, quick question: what is this red- or yellowish glow around the boxes?
Athrandor 8 Jun, 2022 @ 6:29am
Just passing by to thank you for creating this mod, helps me a lot ^^
Warkonst 3 Jun, 2022 @ 7:53am
Just got a glitchless storm.
It was in the easter season, but I guess seasons don't matter, do they?
Warkonst 3 Jun, 2022 @ 6:08am
It just updated for me and I checked that it is 1.7.2. I will comment again after I check whether the Storm is still glitched.
Sui  [author] 3 Jun, 2022 @ 3:47am
I have updated the mod again and the correct version should be up hopefully
SeymourButtz 3 Jun, 2022 @ 3:20am
Yeah steam is refusing to download the newest version for some reason. Got the cookie storm glitch even though I just installed the mod for the first time, checked and it's version 1.7.1
Sui  [author] 3 Jun, 2022 @ 12:34am
@bobrocks95 as far as i can tell it isnt, maybe you have another stock market related mod that also adds it

@Night of the Lepus the border is shown when a stock goes over a 150% value threshold (golden) or under a 50% value threshold (wrath/red). You can change these thresholds in the options menu
Sui  [author] 3 Jun, 2022 @ 12:27am
@Warkonst hey it appears the mod hasnt updated for you yet: you can check the mod version by opening Cookie Clicker->Options->Manage Mods->Select 'Cookie Stonks'->Open mod folder->Open info.txt and on the line that says "ModVersion" it should say "1.7.2".

If the version is lower it hasnt updated, I'm not sure how you can force Steam to update it other than unsubscribing-resubscribing but you can also try to install it manually [github.com] if Steam is being silly.
Warkonst 2 Jun, 2022 @ 4:21pm
It happened again.
Halloween Cookie storm.
Once I clicked the first cookie they all started moving upwards out of the screen and came back from the bottom.
Warkonst 2 Jun, 2022 @ 4:01pm
It was the Halloween Cookie storm. I thought it might help you to know the details.

I also tried unsubbing and resubbing to the mod.
If I get another cookie storm I will tell you if it worked.
Warkonst 2 Jun, 2022 @ 3:35pm
I just got the cookie storm glitch.
It also seems to glitch out the spell icons and it pushed the garden grid to the right side of the screen.
bobrocks95 2 Jun, 2022 @ 2:14pm
Looks like the percentage is now included in the base game, unless I don't have this disabled properly!
Tostiman Ultimate 2 Jun, 2022 @ 12:38pm
Nice mod, but when does it shows a border and when not?
Kazzi 1 Jun, 2022 @ 2:08pm
woo! time to start using it again
Sui  [author] 1 Jun, 2022 @ 12:05pm
@Blue, @Kazzi, @Scotty, @JollyJester Should be fixed now :cozyovercooked2:
JoyPolloi 10 May, 2022 @ 1:33pm
Yeah, this breaks the cookie storm. I would love if that got fixed. Additionally, I just had another major visual glitch that may have come from the game or the mod. All the numbers saying how many of each building you had doubled, with some of them inverted and some flashing. It was quite unusual. If the glitches this introduced were fixed, it would be much better. Otherwise, I love the mod. I hope it gets patched so I can use it more.
Scotty 8 May, 2022 @ 8:52pm
+1 for cookies flying upwards
Kazzi 30 Apr, 2022 @ 9:59am
Can also confirm that this mod makes cookie storm cookies unstoppably ascend.
TheBigNaz 12 Apr, 2022 @ 2:21pm
For some reason, this mod makes the cookies from cookie storms fly off of the screen. Any way you'd be able to fix it?
arroutado 10 Mar, 2022 @ 4:36pm
I give you steam reward because the utility is fine :D
SmolGhost 7 Mar, 2022 @ 9:38pm
News: New CookieCoin Cryptocurrency leaked by Mark Zuckerberg, thousands faint from excitement.
bobrocks95 7 Mar, 2022 @ 8:11pm
This is a great mod for those who want to play as close to legit as possible. I don't find the stock market interesting enough to *not* cheat through it, but this mod did make it fairly entertaining to keep a general eye on.
Sui  [author] 7 Mar, 2022 @ 7:08am
yeah, the system is more complicated than just the resting value, there are high streaks where the value of a stock will skyrocket for a random amount of time, still streaks, low streaks...

theres more info about this better explained on the wiki -basically everything this mod does is display the value the stocks would average during VERY LONG periods of time (which you could calculate manually with the formula above so its not as cheaty as other alternatives that use data hidden from the player imo) :)
Plüschtiger 6 Mar, 2022 @ 3:37pm

I think I understand, but this only gives an in-game hint and unfortunately is of little use to me. Nevertheless thanks for the effort. for me are usually around $4-6, sometimes $10, far from $20. Only once were they close to $40 for a few days. A display of how the value compares to the purchase price would be much more interesting.
Sui  [author] 6 Mar, 2022 @ 2:48pm
basic explanations added to the mod description (maybe theyre helpful? tell me if i dont make sense)
Sui  [author] 6 Mar, 2022 @ 2:46pm
@Jaffythethird it does NOT disable steam achievements

@ajwolf99 yes

@Plüschtiger @arroutado you mean like translate how the "resting value" mechanic works? i dont speak german but i asked a friend to translate it
Jaffythethird 6 Mar, 2022 @ 2:03pm
Does this disable Steam Achievements?
ajitated 6 Mar, 2022 @ 9:03am
Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly -- you want to buy when the number is <100% and sell when it's >100%, right?
