perhaps following the idea of vectis, maybe an ai enabled npc might be appropriate for large grids. another thought i have might be a set of blocks that you place around and the droid pops in and out of, similar to how some mod turrets fold in when the turret is toggled off.
MTGraves  [author] 24 Jun @ 7:34am
@vectis - At this time there is no plan for an addition like that, but I'm not opposed to the idea. Just super busy at the moment.

@TrueWhiteKnight - There is, but the first few block ideas were scrapped cause they sacked. Trying to find a way to display the Droid that would make sense for a larger grid block.
TrueWhiteKnight 23 Jun @ 10:58pm
is there still hope for a large grid version or was that shelved indefinitely?
vectis 22 Jun @ 3:19pm
Would love to have the Droids as frestanding decorative blocks or even as character skinns.
MTGraves  [author] 22 Oct, 2024 @ 6:21pm
@Cheesy_ - I found the issue and it has been corrected. The fixed has been published. Let me know if you run into any more issues with it.
MTGraves  [author] 22 Oct, 2024 @ 2:42pm
@Cheesy_ - Ok, I'll take a look and push an update with a fix once I figure it out. Thanks for the heads up.
Cheesy_ 22 Oct, 2024 @ 5:26am
Not sure if you'll see this but there's an issue with the C-1 Series Astro Droid, the bigger one with the full socket. It seems the bottom connection point was overlooked. All the other droids have this connection point working besides the C-1 droid with the socket. If you happen to see this and fix it, then thank you very much :)
kinngrimm 4 Feb, 2024 @ 8:20pm
got it, i'll try it
MTGraves  [author] 4 Feb, 2024 @ 12:52pm
The droid repair is really for while you're in the ship on the go. Or if the ship had landed or docked and you've stepped away. But more so like if you're in a fight, the droid could keep you in the fight a bit longer, or at least keep you going enough to get away.
Lazarus 3 Feb, 2024 @ 6:03pm
@kinngrimm welders don't damage you when you are sitting in a cockpit. If they did, welding ships would be a lot harder to use.
kinngrimm 24 Jan, 2024 @ 8:08am
all good, thx for response
"Standing within the weld area will cause player damage i"
Doesnt that defy the purpose of a fighter repair droid tp some extant if he is in the cockpit behind be?
What is its range?
The variation you plan, will that be a droid not in its box but free standing?
MTGraves  [author] 24 Jan, 2024 @ 6:50am
@kinngrimm - sorry for the late reply. Been away for a bit. They need the part that are needed for the repair. The conveyor system allows the driod to pull parts to make repairs. Hope that answers your question.
kinngrimm 12 Jan, 2024 @ 11:00am
do they need parts for the repairs or would they(perferably) work of increased energy usage when repairing damages?
MTGraves  [author] 12 Aug, 2023 @ 11:38am
@Sworn - There was a plan, but the crew I was working on are currently working on another project which is a paid project, so a few things that were in the works are currently on hold. I'd like to have a Large Grid version, but IDK when that might be worked on.
Sworn 12 Aug, 2023 @ 3:40am
Any chance for a large version one? Quite annoying having to add small rotors and hinges small heads everywhere :(
MTGraves  [author] 27 Jul, 2023 @ 6:42pm
@Raynor - Yeah the converter is to allow the larger objects through the smaller conveyor tubes. And yet the scrap metal issue has something to do with the game code, not sure where or why it's set to leave it behind. But I haven't found a answer to that issue.
Raynor 26 Jul, 2023 @ 12:24am
No. I wasn't sure how to use those. I don't see why I'd need special conveyors, unless it lets everything through them. Also is that scrap metal thing still and issue? I read about it below.
MTGraves  [author] 25 Jul, 2023 @ 8:46pm
@Raynor - are you using the converter junction block. It will have blue and red lights on it, that will allow the material to be moved. If so, then I would need to look into it, some of the recent updates to the game may be causing an issue. Just let me know.
Raynor 25 Jul, 2023 @ 4:36pm
The Supply Containers won't let me transfer anything to or through them. I tested it with a small cargo on either side, and it wouldn't let me transfer to the supply container or small cargo.

hello! i really like this mod idea, but is there a way to change the settings of it? i feel like its so fast and OP
MTGraves  [author] 1 Aug, 2022 @ 4:54pm
@Bueno - I'll have to look into the scrap metal thing. I think its hard coded but not sure. As for the weld radius, I don't mind if you change the files for your personal use, note that it will not match servers that use the mod, and when the mod receives updates it will wipe your changes. My suggestion would be to copy the mod to your personal SE mod folder, and then make the changes, label the mod something that you'll easily remember so the 2 are separate and you won't have to keep making the change after every update.
Bueno 1 Aug, 2022 @ 9:22am
Update: I fixed the radius back to what it was, for anyone wondering how to do so. Go to where you workshop files are stored for SE, folder 2773982401, open CubeBlocks_Astro_Droids.sbc, find the lines that have <SensorRadius> and change it from 4.9 to whatever (I put 9, seems to be big enough for most small grid ships).

Likely won't work for MP cause ppl may cheese it, but for SP I like the challenge and am only cheating myself lol. These are great for making small grid fighters somewhat viable / quick repairs on ships where I am always bumping into things and doing tiny bits of damage.
Bueno 1 Aug, 2022 @ 9:05am
Great mod for my SP game, is there a reason they hoard scrap metal though? My construction ship droid has 11k scrap metal in its inventory that no matter what I cannot remove via the conveyor system (it is all connected, the droid can pull parts). Only way to empty the scrap is grind it down, or manually remove it from the port on the bottom (which if it is connected to the ship is impossible unfortunately)

I don't really mind as it just means the droids need "maintenance" every so often, but for others to be aware of this as it will eventually make your ships unflyable until you empty the tons of scrap metal.

Also would it be possible to have the old version back for those of us who play SP only? This update has made it so I now need 2 or 3 droids per fighter instead of 1 :(
MTGraves  [author] 22 Jul, 2022 @ 7:08pm
----------NOTICE-----------

An update for this mod will be release tomorrow which will include a large reduction for the weld area. It was brought to my attention by server hosts that players were daisy-chaining droids together to make large area welders that were causing server lag when used. This update could potential damage/ break saved solo worlds and may cause issues with servers if exploit is in use when the server last saved. It's Suggested to remove droids attached to the same grid in your world or have anyone on your server that has multiple droids attached to the same grid remove them temporarily. A single droid on a grid alone should not be negatively effected.
Jamerific 12 Jun, 2022 @ 2:02pm
I would love to have the full bodied version of the droids just so I could decorate my base with them. But also give them some type of function similar to that NPC mod I have seen. Each droid type could effect a different things such as energy output/input, thrust energy/acceleration, and so on.
Quag 4 Jun, 2022 @ 11:07pm
Might I suggest to those of you who have issues with getting killed by the droid to set up sensors to turn off the droid when you are in specific areas...
Monah 30 May, 2022 @ 7:32am
Hello, I would like to ask if it is possible to add a button when pressed which will show the range of action?
Raven4K 29 May, 2022 @ 10:36am
have you thought about making a variation of the nanite mod but changing the nanite into astro droids that could be cool even if they do end up going in and out of the main block like nanites you could look into something like that as an alternative be nice if the droids cannot go through block's and instead have to use door and such to get where they need to go I do not think anyone's tried this as the astro droid models would be a pain to make but it is an option to look into as it has been done already with nanites
Virus Dragovar 27 May, 2022 @ 1:45pm
Allright, great to hear that :)
MTGraves  [author] 27 May, 2022 @ 9:32am
@Virus Dragovar - Yeah unfortunate side-effect of the vanilla weld function. You just need to turn the droid block off before existing the ship. Currently looking into alternative options with other modders.
Virus Dragovar 27 May, 2022 @ 12:23am
My little friend kills me while im near the vehicle :c
MTGraves  [author] 21 May, 2022 @ 9:47pm
@TassetteCape For now yes, but I have an update in the works that will add a conveyor converter so you can attach my Droid Containers and Conveyors to the vanilla Small conveyors and resupply connector.
TassetteCape 21 May, 2022 @ 3:21pm
Do we have to manually reload the containers each time we head out? because no matter how i pipe into the containers, i cant load them automatically.
Raven4K 20 May, 2022 @ 4:58am
yeah it would work better for large grid ship cause then it's like star wars episode one when there ship takes damage the repair station detects damage and deploy the droids to repair it while it's under fight and they stabalize the hyper drive enough to get to the next planet in the story
Dragon Fire 813 10 May, 2022 @ 8:04pm
neat
MTGraves  [author] 10 May, 2022 @ 5:23pm
I'll be adding a conveyor converter soon that will fit the vanilla small tubes and my medium tubes to allow more resupply options, just a heads up.
Dragon Fire 813 10 May, 2022 @ 5:20pm
The medium thing does work as long as you put the port on the center of a normal medium conveyor.
MTGraves  [author] 14 Apr, 2022 @ 2:09pm
For all you Star Wars fans, check out my Twitter page, there is a sneak peak of what I'm currently working on that you might be interested in! https://twitter.com/MTGraves_Owl
TrueWhiteKnight 9 Apr, 2022 @ 8:29am
WOOO! these things are pretty awesome and seeing them on capital ships will be amazing
MTGraves  [author] 8 Apr, 2022 @ 10:59pm
@TrueWhiteKnight - Yes!
TrueWhiteKnight 8 Apr, 2022 @ 9:07pm
are you considering making any large grid variants?
Revan 1 Apr, 2022 @ 12:34am
Nice consider me a subscriber already hehe love your droides and thrusers
MTGraves  [author] 31 Mar, 2022 @ 3:50pm
@Revan - I'm currently working with the guys from Monster-King on some SW themed items and both large turret weapons and fighter weapons are defiantly being discussed!
Revan 29 Mar, 2022 @ 10:28am
Do you think you would ever do a star wars weapons mod? with the real turrets?
Zankar 25 Mar, 2022 @ 5:34pm
@Raven4096 for LG ships a system that makes use of AI Enabled repair drone AI but with Star Wars astromech designs would be cool. Just have a little launcher system mounted on the hull that deploys them, then they just pathfind there way to a damaged spot and go to work, then return for more parts or when job is done.
Zankar 25 Mar, 2022 @ 5:30pm
I fill like a system more akin to build and repair would be better just so your little dome headed buddy doesn't kill you.
MTGraves  [author] 25 Mar, 2022 @ 2:11pm
Updated - Added 3 small conveyor tube items that use the medium conveyor connections, let me know if it works!
MTGraves  [author] 20 Mar, 2022 @ 1:48pm
@Gonzi - Due to the small conveyor system restrictions, I replaced the small conveyor connectors with Medium conveyor connectors. For right now you'll have to put the droid supply containers right up against the droid. I'm working on Smaller sized Medium conveyor tubes since the vanilla Medium tube are stupid big.
Gonzi[RUS] 20 Mar, 2022 @ 11:53am
Conveyor system doesn't work
