@Maison De Cornusiac maybe in the future, though I've got no idea about their modifiers. Also I will need to add a new region (greece) for them. That part shouldn't be too hard though.
- planetarium
- clockwork mechanism
- steam engine (just a toy size experiment though)
- optical lenses which let you see close things far or far things close, depending on arrangement
- advanced surgery tools
- astronomic calendar predicting position of celestial bodies
- astrolabe
(note: these things are going to get re-invented in later centuries, mostly after middle ages, but have been forgotten knowledge of earlier higher cultures, fragments coming back over refugees from Byzantine Empire)
Just wanted to confirm that Durandal is already in the game. However, it's only a blue item.
Next though, I'm thinking of adding some books, as they seem simple enough. Some books I've thought of adding are the Art of War, the Bible, the Quran, the Tripitaka and the Kama sutra. Other books are the Necronomicon, your suggestions, books from CK2 and some from Caesar's books mod from CK2.
Finding Excalibur from an adventure was easier than writing an entire event chain to find it. maybe in the future I will change that, but I don't plan on it for now. Giving it cultural acceptance is an interesting idea, but I don't know if you can limit it to only some. Giving you a claim to a titular title, or even giving you the title itself wouldn't help much, so gaining a claim for England is a good compromise, I think. If and when I give Excalibur an event chain, I will also give it an event for you to lose it.
- Steel prosthetics that replace lost limbs, and may even give their wearer an associated title.
- The ring of Nibelung, that grants right to rule and is etched with rune-magic
- The cursed ring of Andvaranaut, a ring cursed by Loki to help its wearer find gold easily but brings terrible misfortune on those whom wear it.
- Gram, the sword of Sigurd with which he slew the dragon Fafnir.
- Hrunting and Naegling, the swords of Beowulf.
- Dubán, the shield of Cú Chulainn
- The Shield of El Cid, a knightly shield which bore a golden dragon.
- Highly prized written artefacts such as Dead Sea scrolls, Books of the Apostles, Caesar's commentaries, Cicero's writings etc
- The skin of Valerian
I'll probably leave it at that for now. Let me know if you would like input on what traits artefacts would have, or indeed if you would prefer that I not inundate you with suggestions.
- The mechanical angel of King Richard II (he had a mechanical angel crown him, which was agreed by all to be a great spectacle)
- The sword Durandal, which was wielded by Sir Roland.
- The Five-Pointed Shield of Sir Gawain, that which signifies great chivalrous virtue
- The Skull of the Giant of Mont St Michel in the Duchy of Brittany, which was slain by Arthur and whose head was mounted atop the city gates.
- Morglay, the magic sword of Sir Bevis of Hampton
- The black plate-armour of Edward the Black Prince, which could be forged by the highest tier of inspired armourer and give its wearer the title of Black Prince (prince is derived from princeps and a king/emperor would not think the title lesser)
- Steam powered globes/mechanical devices such as those designed by Hero of Alexandria (automated bird fountains etc). These should be difficult to acquire and the benefits should reflect that.
-Excalibur should not be attached to an adventurers inspiration, or else the adventurer would be the rightful King of the Britons. It should instead be an event chain the character undergoes that tests their moral virtue. These being the virtues of chivalry: Friendship, Generosity, Courtesy, Chastity, and Piety.
@pit_fiend yes, but I will add another one hopefully today.
