If they fail to load that just means they're missing from the files, i.e. they haven't been replaced yet.

Great mod, though is it normal that alot of files are missing/failing to load? For example in the console log there's ALOT of voice lines failing to load, everything from reloading voice lines to warning voice lines to spotting enemies voice lines etc?

Be sure to put the contents of the RAR (the "voice" folder) at the right location ([YourSteamLocation]\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\sound\player\survivor) and run "snd_rebuildaudiocache" without the quotes in the console. Restart your game afterwards.

I've gotten a pretty big chunk of 38 done, I managed to find a bunch of voice lines in the RC files. I'm dreading the day I have to mute every single story-related dialogue to maximize immersion lmao

Okay, for real genuinely this time, the newest update should be out within a few days to a week or two at most. It'll be the last big update for a *LONG* while. I blame procrastination, burnout, and my dogwater memory mostly. If I'm being entirely honest, I just got bored and just kinda ran out of lines I could use, but I'm always open to suggestions. I'll probably do mild updates every few months or so, but consider this project "done" for the time being. I was looking into voice cloning but since it's (to me at least) a moral grey area, I decided not to out of respect of the incredible VAs. I'll 100% start updating regularly again once I'm out of my burnout era. Sorry this news kinda just sucks, but be patient.

Create a backup folder and name it "Survivor voicelines" or something to that degree.

Go to SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\sound\player\survivor\voice and cut everything, then paste it into said "survivor voicelines" folder.
I recommend right clicking on your game in your Steam library and doing it that way.

Copy the files from the .zip folder into SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\sound\player\survivor.

Open Left 4 Dead 2 and then open the console.

Type in "snd_rebuildaudiocache" into the console and prepare to wait for about 1-2 minutes while it scans every sound in the game. (you'll need to do this every time you
manually install a sound mod into your files or update the mod)

Type "quit" into your console and then reopen L4D2.

i still cant open the read me file every time i click it, it says copy file name when that won't help me at all

I did all the steps to install the voice lines into my game but i still dont hear the voices, i did the console "snd_rebuildaudiocache" and reloaded that game but still no voices. Fyi this is the first time im installing voice mods.

If you want, you can choose to just install one voice at a time. Just drag the related folder to your game files.

Hopefully there will be separate mods that effect each character and not all of them. Never the less the Modding Community's of many games surprise me more and more
