After that, type "snd_rebuildaudiocache", wait for the Console to open, and write "_restart". If the game doesn't properly restart, simply open up the game, and launch a Versus match. If all is perfect, the "Charging" sound should play only once, get properly cut off at the end, and then "mortification.wav" should play its full 25-ish second duration with zero crackling / static and with seamless loops.
Hope this helps!
NO MORE, I SAY, for I have found the solution after 7 hours of being a modding newbie.
Programs REQUIRED to fix the solution:
1. Wavosaur
that's it.
Once you've downloaded and extracted the program, use it to open the sound "contusion.wav". Then, in the timeline you should see that, at the beginning, there is a Marker with the label "M0". That is the marker that is telling the Source Engine to loop this audio file from beginning to end.
Hello again. and thanks love your mod btw keep cooking
Hmmmmm.....I don't know coding properly at all...all I learned was through YouTube videos and there were almost none teaching how about those stuff works, I've even read Valve's tutorial while making this...
I don't know exactly how to fix, but I think this happened to me once as well, it's something that doesn't happen a lot.
Usually it's conflicts with other mods that also changes sounds, because this one requires "vanilla installing method" which literally replaces files with the same names in the game's folder instead of directing the game to a new folder with new files while keeping the original files intact.
I'm terrible to describe stuff but I hope I managed to explain stuff xD
If I find solutions for this bug in the future, I'll try to fix that!
Nice! Glad to know it's working wel ^^ I hope you have a lot of fun there while headbanging (careful with your keyboard tho)
Dr Dingus
Thanks for the compliment! This game really does deserve heavy metal soundtracks so I decided to do it my own for the community :D
Hmmm, this is strange...I would say that maybe there are other mods that the game is also trying to update their audio cache when you run the command, or maybe running the command itself could be demanding on your PC. My other Metal addons conflicts but works because of the folder structure...the way I made the folder makes the game think it's conflicting when it's not...I do look forward for fixing this soon!
The conflicting also shouldn't be a problem for your FPS, usually it's just the game saying "hey, those may not work/make the game crash", but so far I didn't see much people experiencing crashes with all the mods turned on :)
My last guess would be that maybe running console commands in your computer can be very demanding...like, as a whole, because it does changes main aspects of the game script-wise.
You can still use the songs without the command but they won't loop properly :(
The files I provide are all separated, you can select if you want only the Smoker's theme or some other infected replacing instead of all of them, for this, you can delete the songs you don't want to modify in my folder, and then just paste it on the location I provide in the video. Like this, only the songs you wanted are going to be overwritten :D
TankGenics
Thank you TankGenics, I appreciate the wordssssssss :D
I won't mind as long as credited, and you did credit so its all fine!
I actually knew about that, my other song mods are like this...precisely the same length, sample rate and frequency as the original. Although in this specific one, I tried to be more "free" and tried going further...theorically, it should work but VPK files (Steam Workshop) takes away some info needed for the loop to work perfectly, hence why all that work :/
BUT! My next song mods are going to be in the same length as the originals again, so people can just hit "download" and enjoy a new soundtrack ^^
Thank you for your version of my mod though and for crediting!
Thanks.
ChapCanal
Thank you! Glad to hear people saying that my songs would be from Midnight Riders somehow, thanks for the feedback!! :D
Karl
I appreciate your comment! The intention behind this project is indeed to make Zombie Assaults something that pumps up some adrenaline in you, also giving L4D2 a whole new feeling!
Pure
As the upper comment says, it is required because they have a different length. Manual installation keeps all the informations of the song intact, since once packing it in .VPK (Steam's "Winrar" version basically xD), it loses the information of CUE points, that are responsible to tell to the game where the song should finish and loop!

Perfectly Zack! My answer above this one is basically the reason of all of this!
4LuckyBits
Thank you! Makes me happy to know how much people loves it ^_^
I believe VAC would work with any other file that would modify scripts, and this mod doesn't do any script modification, so...I assume it is safe! So far no one reported bans too...so that's a green light so far!
Sim, eu gostei muito do tema da Witch também ahahah
V333GA:
Thanks dude!! :D
the man:
I tend to not do addons like this, I prefer to be just click > install > play as well...though, as explained in the video, I had no choice but to do it the old way since .vpk files seems to not hold metadata properly...but thank you man for considering and installing my mod there, I hope you have fun!! :DD
MRcedaguy:
Try re-downloading the file, sometimes your internet connection may have corrupted the file at some point...I believe that is your case since no one reported the file to be corrupted...if anything, I will check the file here myself! :)
l4d2 spiced up 100 times more with this and all of the other amazing themes you've done.
Not complaining, just saying.

I hope you enjoy this good shit >:D
Wait CraftedPGN, it only worked with snd_rebuildaudiocache?
Well, so far no one here said it didn't work, so I'll assume this only happened to you...it can be a work around if the tutorial I wrote/recorded don't work for people, because it is going to depend how many times you modded your game or previous moddings as well...or maybe even custom servers that changes a lot in your game...since I have almost no knowledge in this, I can't really tell the reason it only worked with snd_rebuildaudiocache, but...if it worked for you, then...I'm happy! ^_^
- Changed "bacteria" file's to match every information to be loyal to the original, and now instead of Stereo, it's Mono!
Also CraftedPGN, make sure in "Audio" configurations, you have "Headphones" selected, if you have speakers selected, the Special Infected won't play exactly where they are, while Headphones, the sound will play exactly where they spawn. You can play around with those options as well if you want, but pick the one that best suits your case.
Have in mind tha "Headphones" will make all the sounds of the game WAY louder, for some reason I don't know...Valve stuff I guess XD
CraftedPGN:
I didn't notice it was still considered a Stereo, even though I made them mono...probably it was rendered with 2 splitted tracks, with them both playing the same thing, will look for it here now!
