Might be related to Mad Skill or just this mod itself, I was setting the daily cap to 1 in mad skill, then the colonists would train once then spam the job in tick error and get stuck. It doesn't always happen, after changing the settings in mad skill to a higher number, it would work normally, and then it would properly leave because of reaching daily cap.
It's probably a bug in edge case.

@Liselko . If you refer to a massive error spam upon reloading, thats easily fixed by forcing all pawns current having a training gun equipped to drop it.
Then wait a few seconds.
The error only persists as long as they have those weapons equipped.
Now you may continue as normal

Noticed issue with some other mods, can't tell witch one exactly, when equiping training bb gun saving and reloading it corrupts the save.

I originally made it for a different issue but the friendly fire risk was also an occasional pain point when not using the training weapons.

Set to train shooting, all colonists shoot it. Risks the colonist trying to fix it.

@Wish I had the same issue (though I also have a long mod list).

My workaround was to just use the BB gun, because that one works without issue for me.

Hey @Mile. You got any idea what could be causing isses with Simple sidarms? Sometimes it works, sometimes they just keep the training bow in the inventory and wont re - drop it, causing the next dude to fire his FA machine gun at it.
I couldnt figure out yet why sometimes it works, sometimes not. Ill continue testing it.

Would it be possible at all for the melee training sound to be quieter or a mod option to switch it? Or a very different sound like the bb gun?


Some of us play with no raider warnings on. But that means its hard to tell the difference between being attacked and someone just training.

@weregamer I was having the same issue. I switched to Pocket Sand, which has similar features to Simple Sidearms, and they stopped hoarding the weapons

I'm seeing a pretty unfortunate misbehavior with Simple Sidearms. The pawns never drop the BB guns. Even limiting them to carrying only one ranged weapon, they still hoard the BB guns (I had one pawn carrying two) until I manually make them drop them, and they don't even switch to the carried BB gun when they come back for training - that guy with 2 BB guns in his inventory still started using his real weapon on the dummy.

I've been using the simpler Misc. Training for a long time, but I've gotten really annoyed recently by the sound of the gunfire on the training range - especially when I discount the sounds of real combat because I've been hearing it so much. Are these BB guns quiet? A soft whuft that doesn't sound anything like a real gunshot would be nifty, but just a mod option to turn off the sound would be great.

because, my level goes up quickly.

Finally figured out. Its about the guns that equipped. If gun is not compatible with training dummy pawns never intend to train even training room has training guns. That's why they never change to training guns etc.
So modded guns not working well I guess.

Suddenly my pawns stop shooting training also I can't force them to do that but when it comes melee training they do it with pleasure. So do u have any solution for that ?

Also tried deactivete mods which I installed after and remove clothes,armors etc. but still same.

Oh I should add, I use Simple Sidearms too so it works with that, they pick up and drop the gun as intended.

While it does work with CE, there's an issue; I play with ammo off (dunno if this is why) and the bb gun counts as having an ammo type of some sort and actually does damage. I dunno if that might be an easy fix somehow but I've no idea how to mod lol. Functionality-wise everything seems to works just fine though.

Great mod but when used with Yayo's Combat 3 (with ammo) the BB gun and bow only get reloaded when i do it manualy. If not and the guns are empty they do melee attacks insteat of range. Someone found a solution for that?

Hello, I placed five training dummies, one melee and four ranged, so there was a significant drop in TPS, symptoms cleared after removing the MOD, this is my error log. Is the problem caused by my MODlist?

Thank you Mlie for yet another mod I couldn't live without! I was wondering if there's a simple way to make pawns stop training automatically when their skill hits 20, but start training again when it deteriorates back to 19? Like in crafting you'd set the sliders to 0-19. My guys are such hard trainers that they're all capped, and still spend all their time training. Maybe another way to look at it would be "if your skill is not increasing, it's time to stop training"

Is this mod compatible with SimpleSidearms mod? When my pawns take training weapon, the game lag a big (5 FPS) and they dont shoot with training bow. I have to cancel the designation of the dummy to cancel the training. I have also the GrabYourTool mod. Maybe its not compatible with it?
