As Sherlock Holmes always said "The solution is simple once you you solve it"
I, too, worked at this map for some time before the 'AH HAH!" moment.
This one is a puzzler for sure. I am sure everyone has figured out how to get back up to the second level. but if you need an extra clue to continue from there, think about this; We all know you have to destroy the reflector cube to get the platform to rise, but think about where you put it, and what you probably used to flip the panel the first time through.
