As above: "It being good is probably too much to hope for"
If you ever had impetus to expand on this, take a look at the video game Tron 2.0 and its treatment of the sequel story. A fully array of Tron-flavored weapons are present to select from, and some even fit into standard weapon classes (shotgun, sniper, and grenades are present as weapon types).
If you want to play through all of Tron 2.0, it can be unforgiving, is best done mouse & keyboard as the disc requires some crackerjack accuracy to use properly, the platforming is extremely dangerous (falling damage is insane until you get Y-Amp boosted), and the bosses do not pull punches. I'd recommend the guide on GameFAQs to pull through.
Still, may be worth it to get inspiration. Could even make a custom faction of digitized NPCs and get raided by Data Wraiths.
Will you be expanding this mod at all? Disk or spear weapons weapons? Tamable wild bits that blink yes/no? MCP or CLU or User factions? Light Tank or Recognizer additions to mech raids? Computerized Style for Ideology (imagine the Meta on pawns believing they're programs in a computer)? You know, just some ideas in case you wondered on where to take it.
Still cant wait to try it man! gj
