I know the description said don't use it with TC mods but it always worked great with AGOT. until now... really a shame, i hope for a compatch.

The still works for me :steamthumbsup: I tested it by playing as Charles the Bald and commissioning a local artificer. Gained trait XP and the trait as shown. No crashes.
Although it was weird that when I went into the bookmarks screen, it displayed some blocky, hazy texture thingy over my screen.

Currently the mod causes a crash after spamming the error log for thousands of lines per minute.

Humm well if it was up to me, I would simply make a unique decision available whenever you posses one of the artisan traits as an adventurer or landed ruler. It could be on a cooldown of five years, and when you take it, it goes through a series of initial questions such as what specific thing you'd like to try and create, mimicing the artisan crafting event.

The thing is this method would be a LOT of work, as you would essentially need to recreate the ENTIRE artificer event system and recontextualize it all. But overall what the difference should be from commissioning an artificer VS making an item yourself is it should allow for a wider variety of potential qualities in exchange for greater stress/negatives.

I can't imagine a better way of doing it personally. I'd really like to help create this event system, I have experience making them in my own mods. Feel free to contact me if you're interested.

Thanks for this mod. It gives the artifact system some much needed features and fleshes it out.
I'm wondering if the events that add modifiers to artifacts like weapons and armor from using them in battles are bugged for anyone else?

There's already writing books contracts in the vanilla to give them the relevant trait

I am not sure exactly what happened, but somewhere in the Scholar lifestyle, a ruler I was playing actually BECAME an Author. I don't know how exactly, but it made me realize we absolutely need crafting AS a ruler. I know this is probably a very low priority, so I may look into making it myself.

Also, another question. There's another mod out there called Upgrade Artifacts. I'm sure it wouldn't work with yours, and there's other more important things to work on, but would you ever consider adding similar features to this mod?

Great mod, but had some questions about compatibility.

I'm trying to create a mod that adds new book subjects/topics, specifically ones that provide monthly lifestyle experience for the two modded lifestyles added by More Lifestyles.

I'm guessing adding the ability for authors to write those would be impossible to make compatible with this mod? If I did attempt it, what would I need to look out for?

In the meantime, I'll try creating unique artifacts that can be found by adventurers, or possibly some other decision.

Awesome mod! Just one thing that @Big Daddy reported with the compatibility issue.

In the error log it complains about `var:artifact_smith_type` not being set.

I plan on updating this mod, but so far I don't think the new patch changed much related to artifacts. I plan on adding court position tasks and maybe a couple other things.

G'day Buddykenner , I discovered a minor issue I wanted to bring to your attention. I think this mod may not be compatible with the 'Love Marriage Family' mod - the issue is that when both are active, an error comes up when creating Jewelry (specifically rings and necklaces). When you commission a necklace or ring or sponsor an inspiration, the final product doesn't appear, it just has the concluding screen, but no artifact. Is this something you can look into? Many thanks!

I use many other mods, so that might be a result of several mods buffing random chars. I edited the buffs for my own purposes for now, hopefully no more chad blacksmiths.

Skill level for goldsmith and blacksmith based inspirations are heavily based on prowess. I guess I could knock a couple points off, but unless you are running into random blacksmiths with both trait tracks full maxed out they probably have maybe a 5 prowess boost. Goldsmiths would have to be maxed out in both tracks to even get that big of a boost. Several vanilla traits, artifacts and modifiers give more prowess than these traits even when maxed out.

I think it's a mistake to buff prowess through blacksmith and goldsmith traits: I suppose you wanted to reflect physical strength, but in CK3 prowess is used in tournaments and duels, has nothing to do with crafting skills. In a result artificers are becoming better than knights, and game suggests them for prowess-based court positions. I would remove reliance on prowess if possible, or at least lower prowess buffs so blacksmiths are not knocking out my knights in tournaments.

They can't gain an inspiration if they currently already have one, but characters can be inspired an unlimited number of times.

Love this mod. So happy it's been updated. Any way to make this compatible with Advanced Court by Ketaros? The court positions just need to be re-categorized to the categories in that mod.
