@ObliviousOwl Amazing work solving this beast of a puzzle! Very impressive how you stuck with it for all that time. Happy to hear you liked it in the end :D
Oblivious Owl 11 Jul, 2023 @ 5:53pm
I finally got around to solving this chamber, excellent map! The part that stumped me the most was needing to fizzle both portals halfway through the solution - always a scary thing to do! I'll admit I gave up a few times some months ago before coming back to take another crack at it.
Mikeastro  [author] 3 Sep, 2022 @ 6:22am
@Xayvier Thank you so much! Great work solving all these very challenging laser puzzles :D It's a very particular type of logic that I also quite appreciate myself. Good luck with Isotope... :cozycrashfish:
@NLuziaf Thank you!
NLuziaf 2 Sep, 2022 @ 6:35pm
Chamber so good, I like it so much!
Alric 29 Aug, 2022 @ 1:34pm
Point Symmetry's older intimidating brother? I didn't quite expect the cheerful music, considering how Mirror Symmetry felt :D Great map with clean moves as usual. I'm glad to see you still release such maps. Your 6 to 7.5 difficulty maps hit the spot, and your tougher laser-oriented puzzles like this one are especially enjoyable to figure out while hiking as they have memorisable compact layouts yet clever tricks.

Now it's just Isotope left to solve.. I pray that the likes of Pandemonium & Butterfly have prepared me for what's to come :lunar2019deadpanpig:

@DanceDown All it took was a handful of train rides and one internet outage :D Brilliant work solving this very challenging puzzle! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed it
DanceDown 10 Aug, 2022 @ 11:15am
I don't know which substance you took while creating this one, but it's damn difficult; but also extremely fun! Thank you for making
Mikeastro  [author] 13 Jul, 2022 @ 10:28am
@camerson1313 Thank you for the kind words! Your playthrough is still in my watch later list, but I will get to it eventually :D
@Nobody No-One Thank you very much for playing! Excellent work solving it; this is a very difficult puzzle. It is true that a thorough understanding of the nuances of the layout is necessary before the player can even start thinking properly about actually viable exit strategies. Please refrain from putting too much effort into a speedrun recording of the map though :P We all know what happened all the way back with Mirror Symmetry... xD
I'm glad you like the music by the way! I have not used it before, I composed it just for this map
Nobody No-One 13 Jul, 2022 @ 9:56am
Also, have you used this music track before? I really like it.
Nobody No-One 13 Jul, 2022 @ 9:22am
Very very nice laser puzzle with a remarkable amount of back-and-forth movement. There were a couple points where I really thought I was getting somewhere, then realized I had failed to consider something important several steps ago e.g. after rescuing the cube near the entrance, I managed to get back into the room with the lowered laser and access it again, but then I realized I had lost any portal connection to the first laser . Now I just need to keep trying to record my playthrough until I can get it sub 2 minutes...
camerson1313 30 Jun, 2022 @ 12:20am
An unusually difficult pure fizzler grid map. In theory, no puzzle with this premise should be this convoluted, but it somehow all works. Felt a bit like a Chander map except way better looking. My playthrough
Mikeastro  [author] 28 Jun, 2022 @ 4:27pm
@Talisac Thanks for playing and excellent work solving this very difficult puzzle! It makes me happy to hear that you enjoyed it :D
Talisac 22 Jun, 2022 @ 1:33am
I wasn't ready for this... took me a while to solve it, very complex puzzle without hidden tricks, congratulations building this, amazing work.
Mikeastro  [author] 20 Jun, 2022 @ 3:41pm
@Mr Fab Thanks a lot for playing this monster of a puzzle! I just finished watching your blind run; what a journey it was. Truly excellent work solving it. I'm very happy to hear that you liked it :D
Mr Fab 17 Jun, 2022 @ 11:53pm
Oh wow that was hard !
But it was an excellent puzzle, lots of cubes and portals management in this one.
This map drained me a lot because the logic was so complex  Favorited !
My blind playthrough : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ft4u8g7j8hs
Libbybapa 12 Jun, 2022 @ 10:51am
Ha ha, yes, exactly, just pick up the cube. I knew there was something about that sequence that should have been simpler. :)
Mikeastro  [author] 12 Jun, 2022 @ 10:44am
@Libbybapa Thanks a lot for the kind words and for the video! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed it so much :D Indeed, you could have saved a little bit of time at the beginnng by just picking up the nearby cube at 2:52, but aside from that a truly flawless solution!
Libbybapa 12 Jun, 2022 @ 10:05am
https://youtu.be/bP7Us7Jppa8 I feel like I used a simpler method when I initially liberated the cube by the entry , but I couldn't remember it and this works.
Libbybapa 12 Jun, 2022 @ 8:27am
Fantastic map! Beautiful clean layout, amazingly complex logic with a completely clean solution. Top notch work. I'll post the solution I used in a little bit for confirmation, although it all seemed entirely intended... brain too tired to do a recording at the moment.
Mikeastro  [author] 8 Apr, 2022 @ 2:50am
@lapicidas Thank you very much for the video! Indeed, your solution follows the same flow of events as #可砸's. The main difference is that 可砸 avoided the thing you did at 3:36, but it's not a particularly big thing. Fun fact: your sequence from 4:10 to 4:40 was actually originally part of the intended solution before I thought of adding the pit and realised that I可砸's way was just a tad cleaner. Thanks a lot for playing! I'm very happy to hear that you liked this one :D
lapicidas 7 Apr, 2022 @ 9:10pm
What for a genius brain teaser - excellent :steamhappy::steamthumbsup:
It took me quite a long time to figure it out. In the end I solved it similar to @可砸. Some intermediate steps I have done a little differently, but the important steps are the same. I am also relatively sure that there is only this "clean" solution because I really tried a lot of things before I found the solution. Great puzzle!!!

Вау , я долго искал камеру которую реально сложно будет пройти и это та самая , везде делают слишком изи но не здесь . Я ее пока не прошел но это именно то чего не хватает комьюнити картоделов .Лайк однозначо . Это именно то чего мне не хватало .
Mikeastro  [author] 5 Apr, 2022 @ 10:17am
@KnockKnock(Ger) Thanks a lot for playing! This map is very difficult indeed. To summarise the creation process of this map: I just started with a 3x3 grid with two lasers symmetrically and added fizzlers everywhere. Then I replaced a few fizzlers with glass just to make it sort of in an S-shape. However, I found that this setup was too restrictive, so I changed one of the locations of glass to the current layout. Then looking at the possible places for receivers and fizzlers, the current layout was basically the only "natural" one. After that, ''all'' I had to do was see how far I could get with just two cubes. During a brief internet outage, alone with my thoughts, I came up with the majority of the solution path. It all just suddenly clicked and it was awesome. Later I had to add the pit for a technical reason, but I managed to do it in such a way that I could make the solution even longer. Kinda crazy how perfectly it all worked out in the end
KnockKnock(Ger) 5 Apr, 2022 @ 7:22am
Wow. Just wow. I give up. :D overwhelming. Even with the video i couldn't get it solved. I bow in front of you. How did you figure this out. my head is exploding right now.
TChapman500 4 Apr, 2022 @ 9:09am
Thanks for that demo video. Sorry, I can't type whatever characters those are.

@Mikeastro Disabling laser collision changes and removes major game mechanics. Lasers are obstacles that need to avoided while working to get them to go where you want them to go. The lasers are SUPPOSED to be dangerous. And if I'm not mistaking, they were originally supposed to kill the player on contact.
Mikeastro  [author] 4 Apr, 2022 @ 3:11am
@Denis [Rus] Молодец, решил эту непростую задачу :cozycrashfish:
@可砸 Thanks for stepping in, but I don't think they will change their position, nor will they in all likelihood provide more arguments. It's probably better to leave it at this. You can never please everyone I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Denis [Rus] 3 Apr, 2022 @ 11:24pm
Что-то нереальное!!! :redbroken::redbroken::redbroken::redbroken::redbroken: :okey:
Mikeastro  [author] 3 Apr, 2022 @ 5:12pm
@@TChapman500 But why? It's just for the player's convenience... Please elaborate, if possible; I am genuinely making an effort to understand your stance
TChapman500 3 Apr, 2022 @ 5:03pm
Laser collision being off is the problem.
Mikeastro  [author] 3 Apr, 2022 @ 4:53pm
@TChapman500 The only point I can think of you might be referring to is 4:55 in the linked video but putting the cube right next to the laser will allow you to do that part even with laser collision on. If I overlooked something, I'd be interested to hear about it.
I am also still interested to learn why it bothered you in the first place. I can understand being upset about this if the laser collision in this map was in fact on, but... it's not.
TChapman500 3 Apr, 2022 @ 4:38pm
There are some parts of the solution that require the cubes to be pointed in the same direction as the laser, and placed there with the laser in place. If you enable laser collision, the puzzle would become impossible.
Mikeastro  [author] 3 Apr, 2022 @ 4:35pm
@quatrus Don't give up! You'll get it, I'm sure of it :D
@TChapman500 Interesting. Why would that be a problem? Laser collision is disabled after all. In addition, I don't even think that the solution requires this at all. Which points in the solution video do you think would become impossible with laser collision enabled?
TChapman500 3 Apr, 2022 @ 4:22pm
I'm serious about that.
quatrus 3 Apr, 2022 @ 7:35am
My logic suffers.
Mikeastro  [author] 3 Apr, 2022 @ 3:35am
@TChapman500 Is that a belated April Fools joke or are you serious? I am genuinely wondering
TChapman500 2 Apr, 2022 @ 9:15pm
Downvoting because intended solution requires laser collision to be disabled in order to execute. Difficulty is more like 10/10.
Mikeastro  [author] 2 Apr, 2022 @ 7:14am
@klaus.sfc01 Thanks for playing! Excellent work being the first to solve it!
@jandlml Great work! I'm happy to hear that you liked it :D
@Narkodes Thank you very much for the high praise. Very nicely done, solving it essentially in one go, and thanks for pointing out some kinda iffy possibly mapbreaking moves.
@可砸 Thank you so much for the video! A perfect solution; all intended :D Admirable work sticking with it for so many days. I'm happy to hear that you liked it!
@Tom Thanks for playing! Indeed, that's a tricky part. Glad you liked it
Frigga 2 Apr, 2022 @ 12:41am
cool map, take me long time to figure out how to link the laser near the exit and the room at the left hand side to the entrance
可砸 1 Apr, 2022 @ 11:38pm
可砸 1 Apr, 2022 @ 10:24pm
Excellent puzzle!Definitely genius design, sorry I lost my way at one point and went back to the start, but when I realized the mistake, I found a solution and the process went very smoothly!Very cool and green one, thumbs up!I will upload my playthrough later! :D
Narkodes 1 Apr, 2022 @ 1:17pm
Absolute fantastic, almost worth a fav. :yoku:
Seriously, it's probably the best pure laser -fizzler puzzle I can think of. Especially because there's no goo pit and no custom fizzlers, laser fields or white floor surfaces. I struggled a bit when I reached a very powerful state in the middle, but after this brief moment of weakness, everything went well. Big thumbs up.
jandlml 31 Mar, 2022 @ 6:37pm
Excellent Mikeastro!! One of those maps that i just kept doing move after move until something worked. I knew what i needed but not how to get there. Just kept trying until something clicked. :steamhappy:
klaus.sfc01 31 Mar, 2022 @ 9:06am
very cool map somehow linear and not linear at the same time idk but i really enjoyed it :)

this layout looks familiar with a few changes. well lets go ! looks hard lol
