Electricity Generation Review
----------
Max power units (when connected straight to generators on startup): ~3400
Consistent power units (when connected straight to generators when running): ~3036 (3022 when almost out of fuel)

Generators used:

Small: 0
Medium: 6
Large: 0

Good work!

Hey! Is there any chance you could give this engine a once over? Its exactly the size and power i need, but its not really usable under load. And I know its not from overheating because its instant; it just doesn't run smoothly while doing any work. I know its capable of it, there must be a bug in the mc running the thing? I pogos and depowers itself right after startup. Only driving one large generator at 4/1 gear ratio.

Have this engine reverse gear?

@Kahrstrom @KeroseneViking Can confirm I have this same issue as well of the RPS pogoing when under a generator load. However, if I change the second gearbox from 1:1 to 6:5, it appears to fix the problem

Thanks

Zephyr, the engine has an internal cooling system that will work in any environment.

Feel free to check out my other engines MR DERVIK. Perhaps you'll find an engine that fits your specific ship better.

looks good but did not work in my cutter

Hello, how does the engine cool down if I install it on the lower deck from where to output the cooling)?
KeroseneViking 3 Apr, 2022 @ 1:50am
I thought it might have been that despite the temperature gauge showing only about 30, so I turned off the overheat setting in the modular controller and it didn't change anything...

It happens so quickly I don't think it could be overheating that fast.

It's hard to say exactly what the issue is just from your description, but could it be that you're pushing the engine too hard and it's overheating? The microcontroller will slow the engine down if it gets too hot. Check the engine temperature while it's running. You might have to decrease the max RPS and change gearing in order to avoid overheating. Modulars are a bitch to cool.

This is very nice indeed! I'm only having one problem where the engine seems to pogo up and down when under load. I only have it hooked up to one large generator, with the throttle set to 1. After starting it will jump up to around 15 rps and then quickly drop down to about 9 then pogo back and forth from about 10 to 8.
