Any chance of an update? Or does it work with 1.6+?
n00bGingrich 5 May, 2022 @ 11:22am
Does this modify any vanilla files?

Ah that must be it. Any way to increase the rally point limit or just raise armies locally everywhere in the realm?
Big Uncle  [author] 21 Apr, 2022 @ 9:11pm
@Assassinsat
It's probably because there are not many local troops available to you around that rally point
Assassinsat 21 Apr, 2022 @ 8:33pm
Cool. Just asked because during a civil war I saw the AI simply muster up a 2k army within a couple of days where I took more than a month for the same number.
Big Uncle  [author] 21 Apr, 2022 @ 12:33pm
@Assassinsat
Both AI and player are affected
Assassinsat 21 Apr, 2022 @ 5:47am
Is this only for the player or does the AI have the handicap as well?
Extourmed 10 Apr, 2022 @ 8:24am
Seems like a great mod, I've been wanting something realistic about the levies and recruitment, but until the AI can use it, I won't be using it.
Carylart 9 Apr, 2022 @ 2:36am
From what I remember, the AI can only raise their armies in their capitals, so unless you find a way to let them raise all local levies, it would be impossible for the AI to defend themselves properly against raiders.
Big Timberbones 7 Apr, 2022 @ 8:36pm
Anyway a Raise all local levies button could be made? (+Disable rally all)
[Army of Two] AXIS 6 Apr, 2022 @ 3:45pm
Alternate solution, make this a player mechanic only, let the AI have the handicap.

@Cairsiden
Thank you for the suggestion. I'll play around with the values to see if it helps.
Cairsiden 5 Apr, 2022 @ 6:13pm
Actually let me amend that too. I *THINK* those are the defines you want. Judging by their descriptions next to them anyways.
Cairsiden 5 Apr, 2022 @ 6:10pm
I responded multiple times, but it was all dumb. So the short version: You want the AI defines. Go to Common > defines > ai > 00_ai
There's a section on raid defines. If you do a Ctrl + f search and enter COUNTER_RAID_MIN_DISTANCE
that should bring you right to it. You'd likely want to change the max distance to make it shorter. I imagine the vassal_counter variable would help too, but I could swear i've never seen a duke or count defend their own lands. So.
Big Uncle  [author] 5 Apr, 2022 @ 5:08pm
For example,

Fort Level 4

__________Raid time (days)
Troops____ New_____ Vanilla_____ Ratio
2000______ 105______ 44________240%
4000_______53_______ 29_______ 180%
8000_______26 _______18 _______140%

_________________Loot per Holding 170%

@Cairsiden
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Unfortunately, after some research, I still couldn't find a way to force AI to stop gathering. As you suggested, it would be quite problematic when defending against raiders.

Do you think a much longer raiding time along with proportionally increased loot per holding could be a temporary solution?
Cairsiden 5 Apr, 2022 @ 3:57pm
Not exactly? You don't need 10x the amount of troops to repel a small group of raiders. 5x will do. Hells 2x would probably do. Waiting around for every single troop to cross the reaches of the empire just to deal with a few raiders causing trouble isn't realistic in the slightest. However realism wasn't my point to begin with, mechanics were. Any moderately sized country won't be able to repel even small bands of raiders unless there's something in their logic that tells them to just grab the nearby couple counties worth of lads and go repel. He sort of said the same thing himself "Now It might make more sense to raise local armies instead of waiting for levies from every corner of your realm to gather" I was merely pointing out that the AI is unlikely to do so on their own.
SplittinHeads 5 Apr, 2022 @ 1:38pm
@Cairsiden, so basically realistic?
Cairsiden 5 Apr, 2022 @ 5:50am
I would grab this, except my worry is that the AI won't be smart enough when it comes to this. For instance if I go to raid Mecca (an old favorite of mine when playing the yemeni tribes) then the Caliph is going to try and raise his armies to defend, but won't actually move for months since he'll wait till all 8 jillion men are there before going to defend, at which point i'd be long, long gone despite the fact that he could likely have beaten me after the first two thousand troops arrived.
