Aupo 21 Apr, 2017 @ 4:27am
it won't work. i still can see the fog and it reduse my fps :steamsad:
Apolias_ 30 Mar, 2017 @ 6:05pm
this mod can be a little misleading ..... its doesnt get rid of ALL ambient affects. the smoke from bon fires IS STILL THERE :/ an some smoke trails from the bon fires have just been reduced not completely removed. the smoke that comes from the cracked/broken pipes around/inside dwarven ruins is still there. you would assume this mods removes them. it does remove some ambient affects as there are easily noticable, like the ones in the photos above. if you can lower the graphics enough just through ini files like i have, i can run this game at med sets but i though id go all out with ini files (no mods untill now as i want to see how much more i can get) an i can run this game now an very low settings at 60-90fps. this mod would save you 1 fps, 2 at the most. just saying the title seems abit misleading.

@I AM SO AWESOME

For anyone who wants more fps on a low end machine, i would reccomend:
-remove underwater grass - a performance mod (on Skyrim Nexus)
-shadow remover (on Skyrim Nexus, this gives a big fps boost)
BLUR 8 Sep, 2015 @ 12:26pm
@I AM SO AWESOME if you're willing to use nexus then any of these will help you:
-Skyrim Performance Plus
-Skyrim Project Optimization
-Hialgo boost.

in steam workshop, there's"poor man's skyrim" and these ones
conman 5 Sep, 2015 @ 4:42pm
Does anyone know of a performance boosting mod for terrible PC's or is this the best one?
SugarFreeman 11 Jun, 2015 @ 7:21pm
Hey, do you think you could make a mod that completely removes some of the candles in areas throughout the game. It seems as though a large portion of the Skyrim community has issues with fires/candles/lamps causing fps drop when they see a few of them. It would be really awsome if you could, but if you can't then thats alright. Just a request.

Bilogs 7 May, 2015 @ 3:18pm
please upload to nexus please??
Shadow 10 Jan, 2015 @ 5:44pm
might want to fix the smoke for when you fight alduin you have to see where it is in that quest.
Woodhouse 10 Jan, 2015 @ 10:41am
Could you possibly upload this to the nexus as one mod?
Vakare 26 Oct, 2014 @ 2:37pm
@Metal as F#&K - It doesn't harm to just use the launcher to update mods, close the launcher and then use SKSE (which I assume is why you don't use the normal launcher). It works and it's barely more complex.
Metal 7 Oct, 2014 @ 3:49pm
I dont see why not, but thanks anyway.
TheOtherGuy  [author] 6 Oct, 2014 @ 2:02pm
sorry, ill never use nexus or anything outside of steam.
Metal 5 Oct, 2014 @ 10:40pm
Would you consider uploading these to nexus or google drive or something? For those of us who don't use the regular steam launcher.
Maicon 26 Sep, 2014 @ 4:32pm

I must have missed it but where would these mods be placed in the load order? BOSS has not included this mod yet in its master list.
Mikazita 6 Aug, 2014 @ 1:19am
Thank you! A mod just for us low end pc
Dingus 30 Jul, 2014 @ 10:07pm
When I saw this mod I wept. for someone with a low end pc, all of your mods have helped so much and makes the game much more enjoyable :3
sromshek 19 Jul, 2014 @ 3:11pm
So very immpressed with your work. You have got my computer playing this game wonderfully thank you so much.
TheOtherGuy  [author] 19 Jul, 2014 @ 7:15am
Well, first off, can you make sure that you let the mod load in the launcher. This mod should help a lot because the only thing that causes lag in the caves is the effects. And this only effects caves, and outside smoke. If you still need a performance boost, check out my other mods. Just click on my avatar where it says 'created by:' to the right of your screen. then youll see my other mods.

Hope it helps :P

Hey, I have a 1.9ghz processor.... (For graphics card it just says "intel HD", i think that means my processor is also my graphics card. If it's not, plz tell me :D) and I play Skryim on lowest settings + almost max view range for NPCs. The only time i experience (noticable) frame rate lag is when I'm in caves/dungeons. I downloaded this mod and it didn't help much.
TheOtherGuy  [author] 17 Jul, 2014 @ 5:33am
Depends, if in Solstheim, the makers of the game used vanilla effects and smoke, yes it will affect it, but if it's separate ambient lighting and smoke and stuff, no it won't affect it.
The.Lion 16 Jul, 2014 @ 9:37pm
Quick question, I know this mod probably doesn't affect new MOD lands, but does it help in Solstheim (the Dragonborn DLC)?
TheOtherGuy  [author] 16 Jul, 2014 @ 12:42pm
NO PROBLEM :p
isbiter 16 Jul, 2014 @ 12:02pm
i was running about 20-25 fps where it was ambient fog and now i run 60 almost everywhere. thanks for creating the mod :pleased:
aroundthefur79 15 Jul, 2014 @ 7:55am
ok thanks, good to know... I must say I have noticed recent improvement with my fps. I can't stress enough how much I like these performance mods.My game play on PC is finnaly like any other consule game and I would go as far as saying that my graphics are as good or if not better than what the game looks like on ps3 (with the help of mods). It does kinda suck I have to play everything on low but I really enjoy this game, so I have no problem making sacrifices for better performance
TheOtherGuy  [author] 15 Jul, 2014 @ 7:16am
the fog your talking about is the weather, sorry dont know how to remove it. I remove all ambient fogs. Those are the ones that cost fps.
aroundthefur79 14 Jul, 2014 @ 6:55pm
Anyhow Thanks Theotherguy but yeah i'm still getting fog around Riften, Solitude, Riverwood and White Run (havem't been to other towns and holds in my new game). I'm gonna try to unsubscribe and reload maybe that will do the trick?. I'm sorry to bug you
Tiber Septim 14 Jul, 2014 @ 8:17am
The Blanchaed Springs Cave in ARK. are a good example of the huge mounds of guano.
"Bat Shit" Some of the mounds in those vaves are several hundreds of years old. Possibly thiusands. Some remains of a Native American were found near one of thouse mounds. You could see the layers in the mounds and were able to count backwards. The layers form due to hibernation of the bats. Thusly, it leaves you with a 1,000 year old Bat Shit cake.
Tiber Septim 14 Jul, 2014 @ 8:08am
As far as climate in caves, it is highly possible. I've seen mounds of Guano "Bat Shit"
as large as an 18 wheeler trailer and, those mounds retained moisture due to the constant temp and little or no air movement. This would cause the mounds to produce methane, and to produce methan there has got to be some heat. Composting mounds of guano will create heat. The heat from the mounds would then create their own micro-climate. I know this has nothing to do with SKYRIM or the mod. But someone asked how could caves have their own climate.
TheOtherGuy  [author] 14 Jul, 2014 @ 5:37am
I removed the smoke from fire, and i removed the fog outside. Things like dragon landing dirt effects and windy places in snowy lands, those have not been removed.
aroundthefur79 14 Jul, 2014 @ 4:01am
Love your mods but this seems to only be working on the Interiors like houses, caves, tombs etc.I'm still getting dense fog and particles flying around outside. Any suggestions about the load order(maybe) ???
