@cruzinuzi nope its not, its by design so the only way to exit once you enter is by breaching the hull weather that be a weapon or plasma cutter and exiting from there. I recommend doing it on the underside since the magic air bubble ballast will prevent any water from getting in while draining it. Then swim up to the side door of the station to re enter making sure to get a suit and some gear before going in the sub for the first time on start.

is it not possible to use the ladder to get into a docked outpost? or am i just an idiot

Anyone know of a mod that makes it so you only start a solo game as a captain with no other crew members? Wanna do a hardcore play-through and have this as a starter ship that force me to run away from stuff and just mine

@gibuz In any case the advantage of putting the magic "Ballast" there is if you punch a hole in the bottom it magically drains out the water meaning with a plasma cutter, and welder its possible to drain out the Iron Lung and get it floating once again. Its also the only way to leave without flooding it.

@Nattie98 the bottom has an air pocket because i had to put the ballast somewhere lol, kind of a game limitation where a sub wont work without one

@ƚԋɾσԃσɠ ҽԋყҽ The way you drain the sub is by breaching the bottom there is an air pocket underneath the sub to let the water drain out by breaching the floor with a plasma cutter. Its also the only real way to get out of the Iron Lung without flooding it as for getting in you will have to breach the top so park near solid ground breech the bottom and do the objective making sure you buy and fill your tanks for your suit at the station.

Then when you breech the top or the door to drop in repair the roof and door then weld the bottom complicated but it does work.

Managed to get to Aphotic Plateau; got tapped by a hammerhead, repaired but no drainage so immediate depressurization and implosion. Great mod 10/10 would speedrun Barotrauma again

Okay, but this sub is surprisingly good. It can reach highway speeds underwater, and can outrun hammerheads with enough upgrades.

@Ells its very simple to replace music go to Barotrauma\Content\Sounds\Music, download iron lung soundtrack and rename the files as the same ones in the music folder and replace them

We need the iron lung soundtrack and that big motherfuckin fish as a mod

@Candypancakelover If I am gonna be driving any vessel weather it be small or huge I reserve the right to name it. Weather that be a spotless small sub or a oxidized casket so contaminated the game is actually referring to the state of my lungs. If I drive it I am da captain now and whos gonna contest that plus it is not all that bad.

Yha got a black and white old camera that has an infinite supply of film, the vessel is powered by the flying [EXPLETIVE]s I give towards the impossibility of perpetual energy, and yha got a fire extinguisher for a good false sense of safety. What more do you need.

The Iron Lung or as I call it the S.S Tetanus is one really interesting conversation piece

Pose the argument of how small you can make a sub without considering it a shuttle. And this would be said product of the argument now get a mod to turn the water red and now we are in business.

Of course this is not practical but the sub in iron lung was not practical either great galactic depression be dammed, we at least got something that doesn't sink. The one key advantage to this sub is getting an absolute BARE BONES start. Despite all that the two things the Iron Lung has going for it is its ability to fly off of pure rust driven willpower, and its lack of components also means less maintenance.

The downsides once you enter you cant leave the "sub" as it is true to its source material you can only leave at a station meaning the only other way out is by complete and total intentional breaching of the hull. You can also break the bottom to drain the water out oddly enough.

This isn't an expedition, it's an execution.

it's not a shuttle, you need to activate the sub from the settings

@Gunk_Bunkus Did you try to open the sub from the mods tab

@Gunk_Bunkus it is a shuttle you can't get it as a start sub open up a campaign in multiplayer and you can use it.

Is this available in campaign? I can't get it as either a starter sub or buy it in shops. It is also not available to look at in the sub editor.

you can change barotrauma music, go in the files, get the songs you want to change and then rename the new audio to the old ones name and delete the old one, to fix this verify game files, this is how i butchered my game to have the fucking breaking bad theme ALWAYS playing i replaced all the music files with the theme
