Doesn't happen with complexes, or base attacks. Only random ambushes.
Could very well be the case, I've got several hundred.
If you see the logs it means the mod is activated another mod must be breaking your mod list.
I forgot to remove my debug logs in release version will do that in next update.
That's just it, I can't find it in the settings. :-/ Rimpy say's its enabled, it shows

So, currently (until a later update), even after these pawns return to our colony and even after the caravan is disbanded, they will still be under the caravan food restrictions?
Yes that's correct and you need to manually set them back to what you want (use Assign menu to do that quickly)
If that's currently true then isn't the only way to fix this is to adjust things again in the mod settings?
No, the mod activate only on caravan exiting map tile not on disband
