Much of the code was based on MadHatter's Generic UK Stations mod, which he very kindly did for me. I'll definitely investigate on my test maps, it may be that my local Staging Area mod has been done but I haven't updated the online version.
There's also a bug where if you place multiple station buildings together, they aren't using the right end types, so the roof isn't continuous like it was in the vanilla one (and in earlier versions of this mod iirc). If you place a two vanilla buildings next to each other and then two of these, you'll see what I mean.
Anyway, really love this mod. Its a must-have on all my saves. Just wanted to point out these small issues. :)
Oh, the only thing that would make Era A even better than it now already is is to have different architecture, but that would be an extra cherry on top of an already nice cake...
No problem - I am glad that this on the roadmap for this mod as well - take your time :)
Thank you for the appreciative comments, something that doesn’t happen much. Mod makers are often expected to incorporate a multitude of additional changes or alterations without any hint of gratitude. You’ve proven yourself to be one of the rare exceptions to that
I am also a mod creator (or should I say - one-mode creator :) ) and I totally agree here. You are spending your free time and energy on a free (i.e. non-paid) item and this is the only way I can repay you - by expressing gratitude :).
Thanks again.
The Era C ones will be done once I’ve upgraded them like Eras A and B by adding gardens, planting, further benches, removal of excess lamps etc.
If I may be so bold and ask you for a similar fix for ERA C but If you don't have time or the capacity to do it - then it's fine me :)
There seems to be adequate capacity on the platforms regardless, so if this isn't something I can easily sort out, then I shall just remove any building capacity from the refurbished station mods and people will have to live without it.
Here are the steps I took:
- Verified the game files (I did a fresh install on a new SSD).
- Unsubscribed to all mods (2 times) - issue still occurs
- Created a new game with only the Era A, B, C mods to prevent unwanted interaction - issue still occurs
- Created a new game with only a single Era mod (ERA A) to prevent unwanted interaction between era mods - issue still occurs
- Placed a vanilla station and then added the building from your mod - Issue DOESN'T occur
- Placed your mod station and then added a vanilla building - issue still occurs.
This error is usually caused by modding. Some game resources contain incorrect data.

Mod: "UG Station Refurbishments - Era A" (*2793813728, 1) (consider removing this mod and contacting the mod author)
The game will stop with an error. Please correct
On all versions, the benches could be improved if you used a double sided bench like in era B, if such a prop is available. As it is now, the benches face away from the track, and if you only have 1 platform, that means they face the station wall.
====================
For those of you who have asked for higher platforms, I'm pleased to announce that my good friend MadHatter has done the hard work for this with his scripting expertise.
Following finalising of UI items there will be some further testing and the station platforms should now accept non-vanilla tracks. MadHatter's UK standard and high-speed tracks work with the station variants and other mods should too.
The UK Height Platform mods for Eras A and B will be COMPLETE MODS, rather than addons to the existing ones. Thus, players can choose to use the vanilla-height platforms, or the UK-height ones, or both together.
UK-height platforms can be found in their own category in the station construction menu. They can also be identified by a union flag icon.
Era C stations are undergoing retexturing at present and will be released in both vanilla and UK height versions.
I then went into Configure mode and was able to bulldoze the track segments without issue. It was then possible to replace the track with another type.
The only issues I came across were with track mods such as the UK standard or high-speed tracks with various speed limits applied to them.
For the time being, this issue remains, but MadHatter is helping with raising the platforms to UK height and adding steps between the raised platform surface and the station buildings' ground level. I'll ask him about track compatibility issues as well and will look to rectify this as soon as possible. For the time being, unfortunately, you're stuck with default track types - sorry.
In terms of 3D modelling, what I know could be written on the back of a postage stamp with a 4-inch paintbrush!
What I will do - I have a couple of bridges to make a start on and Era C (not looking forward to that) - is look at Celmi's King's Cross platforms which I believe are at that height. If I somehow raise the surface of the vanilla platforms, there's a very real possibility they would be left floating above the ground.
And really? Which sad case gave me a negative rating on this??? Someone who probably doesn't understand the first thing about mod making I suspect...
I'm currently starting with Era B and am looking to "lose" the station name signs totally as I feel they're just too big and bulky. There are a number of mods for signage available and I would expect people to use those where necessary.
When used in conjunction with the stations, the name boards - like the lamps and bins - are generated from a separate .MDL asset file, so an enamel-effect sign would need a custom model file for that to reference a different set of materials.

@Jimbo_1977 - It'll be the Era B one LOOKING like Surbiton. I have zero 3D modelling skills to attempt to recreate it!
The red brick one will fit nicely with a Dutch themed map.
Award given.
@Admiral Hipster - Given that it's taken over a year to get this mod done, you may be waiting for quite a while :-)
I'll look to have a go at Era B, but whilst the Art Deco style is fabulous, it's a very unique building (Helsinki) and I'm not too sure how well it would lend itself to different colour schemes. I did think about the white stone effect, with contrasting details, along the lines of the SR 1930s stations such as Surbiton.
